It made me happy to hear you say oil pump gears are part of this build and teardown! So necessary, and so many people scrimp on that and its an item that will eventually come back and bite a lot of people when they snap into several pieces at 7600 rpms! Nice job man!
Mustang Man yeah I did mine with the 18 manifold not cheap . I did everything within a week palm beach dyno tune with ngauge. ported 18 manifold 18 oem intake oil pump gears and sprocket everything together was about 3 grand I’m including labor . But I rather have 3 k reliable than shattered opg .
My imrcs connectors were lose and was creating knock I didn’t install it myself so I had to look deep into it . Zip tied them . Now my tune is on point .
What I understand is by locking the plates you lose a ton of low speed drivability. Sure its great for the track, but bad for street driving. It doesnt make alot of sense. Of course, if its just track and by that I mean drag race track...carry on young man
@@whitehorse1 also tie wraps for the lockouts?? Really? Hes spending what 10-12 grand with turboes and all? More money than sense. Tie wraps aren't problem free. What happens if one goes and the other doesn't. ???
The past week of videos have been very entertaining, and informative. I love it! I don't have the time to watch them as soon as you post them, but I'm keeping up with you. Good Job!
This not only helps with 2018+ GTs. But for people doing the 18 manifold on any 5.0 I made the mistake of doing a PnP harness and had nothing but issues (On my 2017 GT) Went to a local tuner and had him tune my car. Went ahead and paid him to lock them out. After about 2 weeks of chasing mechanical issues. The IMRCs were the trouble.
Hi guys. I did a 2018 manifold swap on my 2016. I’m having major troubles with P2007 and P2006. For the IMRCs being stuck closed. Rather than chasing this issue should I just delete them and get VMP to revise my tune? Any info would be great.
The IMRC valves or damper changes the intake manifold air flow from long to short and back to long depending on throttle position and rpm. Long runners provide cold starting and low rpm drivability.Short runners make high rpm power.
@@GeneralEOD The IMRC on the Coyote doesn't effect runner length, it's just a valve, somewhat similar to a throttle valve, that partially restricts each intake runner in order to change the air charge characteristics which improves low rpm torque and drivability. You can think of them sort of like giving each cylinder it's own variable venturi (as with a carburetor) in order to speed up and change the air's tumble as it enters the cylinder. There are some engines that do use two sets of different length intake runners with a valve(s) that controls airflow but that's a little different then a charge motion control.
@Zander13 picks up a socket wrench, slices his hand for the umteenth time and scrawls in blood and motor oil, “Mustang warranties are meant to be broken!”
I am wearing basketball shorts and soft shirts when doing this. I’m also not working over the fenders with parts but if I do I am careful. But you are right. If I had some I would use them
Thanks for this info! I still haven't had time to swap out my intake to the ported one! A side effect from being a small business owner! 🤣 However, this weekend it's happening! 🙌
I was told by a few people now i need to lock out my IMRC on my '18 GT because it is boosted (vortech V3 JT). Every time i ask why, its the same answer "you just supposed to do it. you changing the opg anyways, so do it". That doesnt answer my question....why do i need to lock these out with my vortech?
@@Viper3870750 nope. They were locked since I was there but never found out why. Never cared to find out after getting the same answer all the time back then lol. Moved on with life and kept modifying the car lol
Sir you are a damn genius! 😂 Honestly though, with full bolt ons does the ‘18 manifold really make the difference in power to purchase? If so, I will do the swap with 47 lb injectors. Might as well right? 🎉
Lieb Schriever, why did you show up in my feed??? I have no idea what an IMRC is, i just want my convertible 5.0 to be a bullit. Which means, GT 350 intake manifold, and bigger throttle body, "cold" air intake and tune. 😂
@@KINGKJ2REAL on a stock 15 gt that's cutting off and hesitating: if I bought a tuner (lund sct etc) and turn imrc off I wouldn't need to physically delete it? I would prefer not to buy an 18+ manifold if not absolutely necessary.
Hi, I wonder if the car will start up after deleting IMRC, or if it throws errors which causes the car to shut off. If it runs- great, I could take it to the tuner. What if not? Oh, and what is the cost for a tune anyway?
Ok let’s see you lost me yesterday at removing the hood. I played it back twice so I think I might have it now. It was so much easier working on cars 50 years ago.
nunzio rose he’s just deleting the imrc only guys that are going boost and that do 18 manifold swaps know about this lol pretty much deleting some sensors in the manifold there flaps . To take of the cel you need to update your tune .
My imcr just went out the 1st one so closest to the driver side if i take em off and keep em on open how is the idle for you ? Im NA not boosted you think itd be different?
I love you videos 63 yr old just purchased 2019 Mustang GT PP1. Problem when i use track app 1/4 mile best time 13.2 no burn out or line lock. Will time improve with tire burn?
My friend. I need your help . My 2014 gt is acting up. Fuel trims either high or low. P0420 , P0430. Air ratio runs at 20 when decelerating. I've change all oxygen sensor. Twice. Changed spark plugs, changed coils. Ect. Car still acting up. It is stock .I feel like I have some kind of evap leak. I was behind my intake. And I notice a line unplugged. Where you pointed to @ Mark 6.35 little nipple sticker out the back of intake. There is a line behind just sitting there. Not plugged in. That little nipple is wide open. Is there supposed to be something plugged into that nipple? I get no misfire codes . But if I run power balance on scanner. I can see misfires, if you can help me out. I appreciate you. I am also thinking my imcr are broken 😢? I am hearing a little tick from I take area
@@Zander13Productions pple look to you for advice an information man.. Jus hate to see pple cut corners no matter how small on good builds. Jus remember plastic does break down over time an you will forget about it when you gapping fools 😁
christopher barfield I understand your thoughts and agree. This was recommended to me but the large companies I am involved with. I may still do it the right way but the effect will be the same. This is just a way for people to eat their options. That’s why I did say in video that there are kits to make this work but this is a free mod. Kinda like taking a clutch spring out instead of buying a 20ibs spring for clutch feel. Similar results. I would certainly buy a $20 spring though. But again, this just a fun video
Imrc failed in my 2018 gt350. Threw 4 codes including misfire. Runs like sht now. Not worried too much it isnt my daily. Should i swap the manifold or do this? The manifold is half the cost of a shop fixing it.
