2018 Mustang GT intermittent rough idle and stalling issue solved

I had a issue where my idle was going rough on occasion, my check engine light came on for the bank 2 sensor 1 o2 sensor and my dealer said they did the cam phasers, that work was done but the issue remained. I drove the car for 8 months with this issue waiting for a light to come on thinking the other o2 sensor was damaged or something. Eventually the light did come on for the other side o2 sensor but I was running 93 octane at the time so I was kind of confused but I replaced that sensor too. The issue still remained and I was tired of it, so I took it to a different dealer and they tried a misfire relearn procedure, that also did not solve my issue. Eventually they decided to do VCT solenoids after doing multiple tests. This finally solved my issue.

Glad you got this resolved . Having the car stall all the time would get annoying. E-85 will kill your o2 sensors, were putting Ruby on MS-109 with our Whipple setup.

Bro, I'm having the exact issue. Car runs 100% fine when driving, but once I come to a stop or leave the car idling for a while, it starts acting wonky. I already took it to the dealership and they keep telling me there is nothing wrong with it. By any chance do you have the part number for the VCT solenoids that were installed? Thank you.

Thanks for posting. Its really good that your dealership was nice and didnt make a fuss about the tune. The engine tick is still there? Thanks

I add 2 bottles of ceratec to my oil every oil change and that fixes the tick. Still have the 2k rattle though which I think is normal.

I’m out of my warranty but will they still fix this issue for free to? I have it like really bad it stalls every stop

You can try since it is dangerous, but I doubt they will.

I have the same issue on my car, the dealr replaced the solenoid on bank 1, which i believe is the driver side, but it still has the issue it also has a fluttering sound and when in sport mode at around like 2k-2500 rpms i hear this squealing noise once its past that or below that rpm range it wont make the sound, its been doing that befroe they even changed the solenoid
