We put the amazing limited edition 2018 MV Agusta F3 675 RC to the test on road and track over a full week and more than 1000km.

Despite the switch to Euro 4, the F3 675 RC offers 128hp (94kW) at 14,500 rpm with 71Nm of torque at 10,900 rpm, with the most significant technical redesigns on the 2018 models concerning the balance shaft, the primary gearing, the intake cam profiles and the valves.
The gearbox has undergone a complete overhaul to make shifting easier and reduce clutch lever effort. Exhaust manifolds have also been redesigned, while the F3 RC silencer - supplied by the SC Project in the Race Kit - derives directly from the unit used by the Racing Department that significantly increases the power.

The F3 675 RC model also introduces new engine covers. These enhance engine protection in the event of a collision or fall and reduce mechanical noise emissions.
The F3 675 RC control platform, developed through racing, is based on the MVICS (Motor & Vehicle Integrated Control System). Key developments on the 2018 models include improved Ride By Wire performance, now with personalised mappings. Parameters on the eight-level traction control have also been fully revised to enhance effectiveness and fluidity. The EAS 2.0 electronic shifter has also been optimised for smoother shifting.
A new frame mount point for the three-cylinder engine ensures increased overall rigidity and the tubular steel trellis frame, closed off with aluminium alloy plates, is designed to offer maximum handling performance, as is evident from the wheelbase of just 1380mm, despite the long 576.5mm single-sided swingarm.

Each of the 350 limited edition F3 RC bikes comes with a top-drawer kit that boosts bike performance even further, effectively making it identical to the race version in terms of equipment and appearance. In just a few simple steps, the kit can be used to transform the F3 RC road bike into a perfect track day machine. The titanium exhaust system, with carbon fiber silencer, is supplied by SC Project and comes complete with carbon-fibre heel guard and aluminium silencer support brackets.
Also included in the kit is the electronic control unit with a dedicated mapping to maximise the increase in performance (133hp at 14,570rpm on the F3 675 RC and 153hp at 13,250rpm on the F3 800 RC).
The rear seat cowl (for single- seat use) adds a touch of style, as do the machined from billet brake and clutch levers. The included rear sprocket is for race track gearing, while the rear stand and bike cover are for maintenance purposes. As proof of its uniqueness, each RC comes with its own certificate of origin.

A lot of people in the "industry" don't rate MVs at all The Triumph Daytona 675r is apparently a far superior bike But hey, that's just what I heard, so I bought the Daytona Great review mate, stoked to see an Aussie review, keep up the good work

Great review. Want to buy one, but low on dollars, so buying a used one. Up to what year did the bike have all those problems you mentioned? And if I bought a 2012 675, can the bugs be solved with newer software & other methods. ie. Fuel mapping, twitchy throttle. What issues should have been sorted by the previous owner? Would really appreciate a reply. " Desperate for a 675" signing off. Cheers. Aussie in Adelaide :)

Go to your local MV dealership or give them a call before you buy the bike and ask them if its possible to update your software. Tell them which Modelyear bike you want to buy and if its possible. This cannot be done by a random kawasaki dealer. It should be for free aswell. 2012 is the first year model. It might have the problems the 1st series have. Depends on what the previous owner did with the bike before you bought it. If he resolved them or not. From 2014 upwards I'd say the major issues have been resolved. So try a grab a 2014. If its possible within your budget have a look at a 2016 modelyear with BLACK engine. Those have upgraded internal engine parts which is a normal update from R&D. That being sad none of the bikes run bad. *threat the bike as you want to be threated. Perform the recommended maintenance and she'll threat you right aswell :) I own a 675, I have a bit of experience with the bike. Great and not so great. If you have any questions I'll answer them for you :) Im from netherlands if that helps. Or go to mvagusta(dot)net register on that forum and ask your questions there. Alot of helpful members on there who would try and help you in any way possible. -Jason

@@mvagusta6757 I didnt have any major issues with my bike. There are stories of valves dropping, but i've seen dozen on the internet for sale with 20-30-40.000 kilometers on the odometer. Spreading from 2012 to 2017 modelyears. So it is definitely a solid platform. *Its known that people like to stir shit up on forums, so dont believe everything you read. Just perform the maintenance at the right time and it should be fine :) Threat her right, she'll threat you right :) My issues: Radiator cap leak & Fuel connector leak(Fixed at first service), Headlight rubber ring was broken somehow, so fog could enter into headlight. And the across all brands known issue: Exhaust servo motor fault. All fixed under warranty for free. Only had to pay for Gas :P. Other than that no issues. I always warm up engine before riding, and first 10-15 minutes always under the 6000rpm to properly heat up the engine. As for steering damper. Lots of people say the F3 needs it. People who do trackdays alot of different bikes say to set up the suspension to your weight by a proffesional to your riding style which solves 90% of the headshake. I personally would set up the suspension to your weight. That is you + your gear. Its up to you if you set it up for track focused. Or street riding. *Just a tip: If you get the F3 ask how long it stood still. And if the hub had any maintenance to it lately(within 1 year) If not either ask the dealer you buy it from to perform it before they hand it over to you, or do it yourself :) If you buy from someone private, i'd still recommend you to perform and regrease the hub even if they tell you they did it. Never trust a random person who wants to sell their bike, its super improtant to keep the hub in a healthy state. Also: Never overtighten the chain. Better to have it a bit lose than to tight.(can damage the hub.) -Jason

May I ask why you are counterleaning while turning? you're dragging knee so bike is hanging fairly low to the ground and your upper body is pointing over the left side of the bike. Isnt that F'ing up the entire bike while riding? Old school style

Heat issue??.... it isnt an F4. Yes it gets hot, but not coolant spilling hot.

For the 800, As long as you keep it over 80kmh, than you wont feel it. Otherwise its still not as hot as ducati
