2018 Polaris Ranger 570 Midsize Suspension Lift/Adjustment

Was considering a 2" High Lifter Lift kit; raising the factory settings on a new Ranger lifted the unit 2" alone. NOTE: I found the shock adjusting wrench in the OEM tool kit shortly after creating this video...
Ride quality changed very little so still on the fence whether to add the lift and dampen the shocks...

My 2007 ranger 700 XP has two top mounting positions for the rear shocks. Factory it comes at the lower more raked inner mounting position. You can gain at least 2” by using the outer mounts, this sits the shocks in a more upright position, much less rake. On trails it keeps your wheels on the ground when riding in rough terrain. Of course this will make the ride stiffer and not as smooth on hard packed surfaces. Not sure if it’s available on your 2018 or not but I would check before adding the highlifter. These machines are not made for the lift and you’ll wear out your CV shafts much faster with them. You can check parts manuals and see the Polaris High Lifter editions have different CV shafts and many other parts as well. Good luck and enjoy your machine.

Thanks for the feedback. I do not have the alternate holes but did end up with a Marshall lift and no issues as of yet. Cheers

I just bought a 2018 mid size 570 Ranger LE EPS . Made the deal to include a Polaris roof . Recently installed Seizmik Versa-Fold Windshield, back of cab soft barrier by " NO EXCUSES UTV " which was kinda pain to install the top mounts, but nice product being i can roll the window up for backyard duty. Also installed seat belt bypass , again convenient for yard duty, but we buckle up trail riding. And installed a Terra 35 winch which dropped the front an inch. So back to ride height that Kevin was talking about. I was really impressed with the cushy ride when i first drove it until i noticed the shocks where in the softest position and the a arms where level. Tweaked the shocks ...and lost the cushy ride. Currently installing 2" lift and going to order some 27" tires. Theory is to overall gain 2-4" ground clearance while adjusting shocks back to " cushy ride " . Might have to tweak rear shocks for even ride height. Hope this advice helps anybody.

Good points, sounds like a nice buggy you built. I also installed a 2-1/2" lift and very pleased.

I have a 2021 570 Crew FS, I love it and did this. People say it changes the ride but it already rides like a log wagon from the factory, compared to a fancy XP... You're in the mud, who cares!

You made your suspension firm by adjusting the spring. You don’t have to jack it up to adjust all you have to do is turn the spring with the supplied wrench. Without weight in the bed your going to bounce.

I was going to buy a 2" lift kit but will try this!

Let me know what you think... I am still on the fence as I am still pretty new to the buggy. What ultimately makes the decision will be how much of a load i generally carry on the unit. If loaded up good all the time i will leave the suspension cranked up with no lift; if keeping it generally light i might go ahead and install the lift and tune the suspension back to the softest setting...

Did you fix that wheel alignment ?
@goseejackson
@goseejackson Год назад
Yes, for that set of tires and rims, and again recently for new tires and rims that are all the same size. Decent enough i can run down the pavement on my new truck style tires at 80-90 km and no issues.

I have a 2016 midsize 570 but have had nothing but trouble with it. I have had the transmission gone though under warranty (factory defect $1800) so I decided to get the extended warranty. Now the transmission is louder than ever. It's going back to the dealer.

Definitely discouraging to deal with on a new machine I bet. I had also went with the 5 year warranty but have had no issues yet, mind you it is still very new... Sounds to me like the tranny may had been shot from new and should be replaced as opposed to gone through.

Did the ride quality change?
@goseejackson
@goseejackson 3 года назад
The ride quality difference was minimal compared to the new 8 ply tires that i put on it. I had since put a Marshall 2” lift and 1” wheel spacers but the 8 ply tires have a much stiffer side wall and was a big difference compared to the OEM 4 ply Carlisle tires.

You end up putting a lift on it after doing this?...….
@goseejackson
@goseejackson 5 лет назад
Yes, I did end up going with a 2-1/2" Marshall lift kit. Tightening up the suspension worked well but the actual lift was pretty cheap to gain a bit more ride quality. In addition to the lift, I also added 1-1/2" wheel spacers to gain more stability. Woks very well and for this machine I am very happy with it. The ability to clear more obstacles on the trails is sure nice as well. I have made several other mods on this buggy so will make a point of doing an update video. Cheers

Did the lift kit effect your axles?

@@cdaddyh3135 The change in the CV angle is minimal and so far zero issues.

Are you interested in testing products? We would like to invite you to test the half windshield for your 2018 Polaris Ranger 570 Midsize

Yes for sure, please send me some details on the windshield and what you have in mind.

@@goseejackson The half-front windshield is a new product, we want to test it if it is suitable. We need you to shoot an installation video. Are you interested?
@goseejackson
@goseejackson Год назад
@@StarknightMT_official Yes I could certainly do a similar install to what i have done for the Polaris windshield and provide a review if that is what you want. Is this unit made of Poly or Tempered glass? I am in Canada, however i have an address to ship to Idaho if that works for you?
@StarknightMT_official
@StarknightMT_official Год назад
@@goseejackson thanks for your reply. The midsize 570 half windshield is made of poly.
@goseejackson
@goseejackson Год назад
@@StarknightMT_official Poly would be fine for a half windshield. I personally would not purchase a full unit in Poly but nothing wrong with a half as you are not ever looking through it...

DO NOT DO THIS!!!!!!!!! use the 2 inch lift kit and a 1 inch wheel spacer on each wheel... doing the lift this way really stiffens the ride making it very hard...and is harder on all the components... the wheel spacers widen the stance after lifting making it less tippy.... 2 inches up, 2 inches wider...
@goseejackson
@goseejackson 4 года назад
Agreed Ranger J, i did exactly that but never got a chance to update a new video. Went with 2-1/2” Marshall lift and 1” spacers all the way around. The real kicker was going from the OEM 2 ply to an 8 ply tire where the tires alone made the ride much stiffer.

You need a lift kit trust me, springs will wear so bad an cause sag, then be over 2 inches under stock an will have to install lift kit just to get it back to that height. I know to much about this like basatards
@goseejackson
@goseejackson 6 лет назад
So far so good with the tightened suspension with no sag. I have a 2004 Sportsman 700 with heavy boxes and loaded down right from new and also tightened up the springs on the rear with no issues to date. Another option may also be upgraded springs along with a lift if still felt necessary?
@clydejohnson4251
@clydejohnson4251 6 лет назад
Jaxon if I had it to do over again I would just go with Deep Sothern Armor 4" lift kit an strut relocater. I realize how expensive it is but compare that price to a 2.5" lift from MMA, then you decide to add Highlifter springs like I did. Your half the price of the DSA an no where near the ride quality imo. Just my 2 cents
@dlewis4647
@dlewis4647 3 года назад
@@goseejackson I did the springs and the lift. I have a 570-4 crew and it sits even lower so I had to.

I have a 2016 and after only the accessories I've put in my I bet I got as much $ in accessories as you paid for yours lol smh
@goseejackson
@goseejackson 6 лет назад
Yes I could imagine! This is initially what separated Polaris from the pack was all the options they had available. Now Can-am and Honda have caught on and also have some great accessories. Keeps the competition tight! I just installed the wiper/washer kit, wired the winch and installed a rear glass windshield. Next I believe will be a heater kit for fall hunting...
