Corey Adams thanks for serving this country! I bet that Cummins pulls your trailer like it’s not back there lol! It’s so funny you mention the Aerolites because that was the very first trailer we looked at! Now don’t ask how we went from the travel trailer to a 40FT fifth wheel because I couldn’t tell you! I definitely plan to keep the kids camping and hopefully keep their eyes off a screen!

Corey Adams what kind of fuel mileage are you getting with your rig towing vs not towing? That’s about the exact set up I’m going for & I plan to get the Ram boxes for extra dry storage in the bed

cruz mascorro I have not! Normally try to get fuel from places that either turn it quickly (truck stop) or advertise premium diesel. I’ve had great luck using Southern States so unless they try to raise their prices substantially I will continue to get diesel there.

8-9 with grades traveling at 70-80 MPH

Herb McDonnell I agree with breaking it in and thanks for that info on the cetane #. I try to use either a #2 premium diesel or bio diesel when I can. I normally use bio when I’m traveling long distances (Loves offers it) and not planning on idling too much!

The coil springs don’t really start sagging until you exceed 3000#’s but your issue will be Payload. I would consider a 3500 SRW so you still have enough Payload because this truck in the video only has 1940# but a similar RAM 3500 would have 3300#+.

I dont think I ever have anymore than 1000# payload, sonjust towing the dump truck is what I want to make sure i can do perfectly. A couple of dealers haven't been able to give me a solid answer. I saw a single wheel 3500 but I saw the sticker said 11700 gvwr and i want to stay under 26000 gcwr but I was told by a motor officer my dually was rated at 12900 even though the door sticker said 23000#. Which is why I dont really want to consider a single wheel 3500, it might have a higher gvwr that would put me over the 26000.

Gerald Dunn all 2018 RAM and earlier Diesels have 3.42 gears. That’s why my truck gets such great fuel economy!

Brandon Diaville on the 2018 and earlier models there is not an option. The 2019 should have a function and I know the Ford HD trucks have a aux hookup for trailer cameras

Tony Piwko I didn’t know you lived out here?!?!?! Mikey P and I were just at Beckley’s a week ago sense he is looking at potentially buying one for his family. I dealt with the owners son, “Justin Shanholtzer” and felt like they took care of me. They were able to get my Cougar new from another dealer although they don’t stock them. I think they are a great dealer because they don’t charge additional freight, dealer prep, nor penalize for not financing with them. I was also able to get free storage thrown into the mix just to push us over the edge. If you are torn, I would say go with the brand that gives you the greatest discount because overall they all do what you want them to do. Biggest thing on my list was basement storage, counter space, upgraded suspension, length 40ft>, and mid bunk. Jayco Eagle series are selling like hotcakes so they aren’t as motivated to wheel and deal. I was potentially going to entertain buying one until they came back with $10K off and said there might be $500 more...

@@JB_WhoWork "down the road" ish. Close to Raven's training facility/Heritage Ram FCA dealer... owings mills/reisertown/randallstown area. But my son loves Gavers farms out "your" way for the corn maze and pumpkin patch in the fall. Plus any excuse to go browse RVs is always a fun time. Good to know they ordered in. I know Leo's carries them from time to time, and while my son loves their stuffed lions at the show (he tried to snag 3.... he's only 3 and didnt know better lol) we weren't ready to pull the trigger on an RV for him to get one.

Tony Piwko I cover that Heritage Store for my work so pretty familiar with the area. Yea we shopped at Leo’s but they weren’t too motivated to deal until I told them I was buying elsewhere. Then they decided to step up and sharpen the pencils. So you’re telling me they wouldn’t give him a teddy bear because you didn’t buy?

@@JB_WhoWork we didn't ask cuz we didnt want to be dragged into a sales pitch at the time ;-) lol They probably would have given him one tho. But once we got over to Beckley's area of the show he totally forgot all about it when he got his face painted like a dinosaur. I love Owings Mills Heritage. Their service shop always treats me great. I may not buy the Ram there, but I will definitely have them service it if need be. They have always treated me great for all my Wranglers over the years (I off roaded with them a lot, so needed a bunch of "dealer item only" parts over the years) and the wife's Cherokee Trailhawk was in this year for a major ovehaul to the driveline. They are fantastic to work with for service. I can't speak for the sales team because I never dealt with them, but after the sale is awesome. On my TJs I tried to do as much of the wrenching on my own as I could, but major work I trust them to do. When wife and I are ready to pull the trigger we will hit you up for sure. You can add it to more channel content while we shop if ya want ;-)

@@JB_WhoWork thank you for your reviews. Just traded my 2016 ram 2500 6.4 liters of pure awesomeness and bought a 2019 ram 2500 mega cab 6.7 Cummins with the 68rfe tyranny. I will hook up the camper this wknd (11k lbs) and see how different the tow feels gas vs the new diesel.

@@JB_WhoWork I just bought a 2020 Dodge ram power wagon but I didn't do my homework before I bought it I have a 37' travel trailer bunk house when I hook it up to my power wagon I get the dip in the back of the truck is it because the payload is too heavy or is that just normal

Yea the suspension is different compared to the regular 2500 and the truck sits slightly more level too. Mikey P has one and he tow’s a 32 foot but he is using a WDH to keep it level. What did you trade?

Well the truth is it can handle it but you will be towing illegally which is why I traded up for a 3500 a few months back. Check to see if you can register your truck with a higher GVWR assuming you don’t exceed your GAWR with your trailer. I was told but have not confirmed that this is an option.

@@JB_WhoWork Do have any idea how I can get that info? I have Ram corporate my vin number and somehow its coming up as a 3500. They can't tell me payload, curb weight, towing capacity, etc. I just want to know what I can safely tow without hurting the truck

That Girl if you take your GVWR and subtract your Payload, that will give you your curb weight which would be 8024#’s. I looked up online you towing #’s and your towing capacity would be approx. 17,036#. Follow this link: www.ramtrucks.com/towing-guide.html I’m assuming you have a crew cab short bed. @@JB_WhoWork Not really but it's not your fault. I got those same numbers from ram but when I put my Vin number in on their site, I get 2310 payload and 18320 towing. Even they are confused. Lol. I've searched this truck at probably 20 dealerships across Texas and they all have the payload at 3200lbs. Thanks for your help though.

That Girl are you saying the towing capacity isn’t accurate? Another way you can find it is by looking up your GCWR and subtracting your truck from it. Realistically towing capacity is the least important # because you typically will reach your Payload way before you hit your towing capacity. Sorry I couldn’t help

@@JB_WhoWork I have a 31 foot 5th wheel max weight is 11700, dry is 9100lbs, n I do use the anderson ult hitch., RV tongue weight on paper stated 1835lbs, my 14 ram 2500 states load cap is 2250, I weighed it once with only me in it n pin was 1950., I did not have my wife(150lbs)or dog(40lbs)weight in there at time, any suggestions,. It pulls fine but I know the bottom line, how close to max pin should I push it to,rv had water n propane just missing a few things in there., thanks Paul

Hey Paul I traded my 2500 due to the dilemma with payload. I believe my truck payload was slightly under 2000#’s but my fifth wheel “advertised” hitch weight was 1980#’s. I traded that truck in for a 3500 to be under GVWR. Every state is different and some states go by the GAWR so figure out what your state says and go from there
