I have a 19 ram reading autopark enabled vehicle not in park, I can’t get it to go back to park to start truck and tuning shop said that I need the bypass adapter to be able to get the autopark off for truck to shift back into park have you ran into this issue
I have not, this truck was a manual. But they are correct if it’s not a dealer with “proper” software you will need a work around to get into the BCM. Once in the Body Control Module you can clear, correct, unlock, lock tons of features.
If you can see what your doing, and want too..there’s no real big reason too...I did it so that the video would show better what I was doing (and the first time since I was not sure what I was doing it made it easier to see / do)
I don't know the details on it, but I am guessing that Ram did not like how someone else could get into the computer like this through the OBD port. Some were doing shady things like making key fobs in the dealer parking lot lol so they had to make it where you can't access the full computer....then the bypass harness was made that gives us access to it. (this is my guess as to why but it sounds good lol)
I can not tell you 100% that is correct because I have never done a tune on my truck....but as far as I know it will not cause any issues.....if the lest bit concerned just unplug the bypass and do it through the OBD port straight.
Can u connect the bypass obd port to the factory one and put the 2 wires to the security part too by-pass ? I dont see how 2 little wire would read and write the trucks pcm . Im just having trouble understanding the whole process . To bad they had too do all this
@@amermuscle it was changed because tech smart people figured out how to do some shady stuff (stealing) haha....I don’t see an issue tuning through the bypass harness...but since I haven’t done it I can’t say for sure. There is a forum and app taptalk and then the ram forum...it’s full of answers, plus the guy who makes the bypass harness answers questions there...I would check that out for better info....because I don’t have a solid answer for you 😬
George S haha yeah, we have been working like crazy, actually we are on opposite schedules now so it’s been rough to make videos (partly why I did a couple on the new Ram) Bison has been perfect for us (well momma) I don’t get much wheel time haha. We hope to drop a video in a few days on fuel mileage since we have put just over 9k miles on it.
My question is is it OK to leave The bypass harness in it if you have to take it back to the dealership for work or is it best to remove it and put it back to original?
David Heath good point, we started the channel because of my wife’s truck the Colorado bison up fitted by AEV I put this video up because I knew it would get more views due to more followers....
71 David Eugene Woosley I'm not 100% sure what your asking but here is where I got the bypass cable www.kaodtech.com/product-page/security-module-bypass It works great for me, hope this helps answer your question.
@@rockyaev8287 I'm being told that I need to purchase a module to. This cable is out of stock thru that company. Tried to contact them and there is no way to
71 David Eugene Woosley there is an app called tapatalk and I'm signed up on several forums....one is "Dodge Ram Forum" I have contacted someone on there attempting to get you some help.....but at the same time recommend signing up on the forum because there are so many people with so many how to's that will literally walk ya through stuff. Hopefully he gets my message and is able to at least get me some info that I can pass along. As soon as I hear anything I'll post it up for you
