Two big flaws. One, the passenger seat isn't height adjustable, even on the Touring. And the volume and tuning knobs have no lighting around or backlighting them, making it difficult to use at night.
Joe the volume knobs do light up. On 2015-2017 models you just have to turn the dashboard lighting dial from the highest setting, down to the second highest or lower (from the dot to one of the dashes). I believe on the 2018's they just light up without doing that though. What model are you referring to?
I just drove a 2018 Outback Touring and at night, there was no backlighting of the words Volume and Tuning, nor any type of lighting ring around the knobs, as there is on the Crosstrek and Impreza.
But I'll go back and try what you suggested by adjusting the dimmer switch. There might be lighted rings, but I don't think the words are backlit as with the Nav, AM/FM, etc.buttons.
Ben Hardy I'm glad I found this video, because I was kind of misled by the Subaru website, which made it look like the Touring Package was only available on the 2.5L I4 model and on the 3.6L you could get the Limited package, but not the touring. Thanks for setting that straight...
It is more of an SUV rather than a regular wagon, bro. It has 8.7 inches of ground clearance similar to that of a Jeep and has heavier duty suspension compared to the Subaru Legacy sedan on which it is based on.
Ben Hardy I was really surprised at what my wife's Outback did that day. Here is the full video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HjFFiQtGYtE.html It gets good at the 6 minute mark. But extremely fun drive. Did it all on my stock tires. No lift.
