Good video mate, not sure what I think of the estate version but practice, safe and fast think I would have the hatch if I was getting 1. Also what mic setup are you using ?
I thought I’d have the hatch too, I’ve driven all variants (3, 5 and Wagon) and find the Wagon the best all rounder. The only other one I’d consider is the 3, much stiffer and tighter response with less flex. Cheap Boya clip on, recording into an iPhone 8.. much better audio than the standard GoPro stuff from before.
TomKentMusic really made a difference to the overall video mate 🙌 getting hold of some great cars and the quality is getting better the more videos I watch
TomKentMusic I am pretty good with seo, understand some aspects of the algorithm , know what sort of content to make but cannot get the cars so difficult to also get views
Out of interest Tom, do you happen to know the ratio of wagons sold compared to hatches? I see lots of hatches on the road (in fact, there's two parked around the corner), but it's very rare I see a wagon...
Car Obsession can’t see specific sales figures, and the press department is closed, but just on how few I’ve ever seen - it must be 90% hatch to 10% Wagon.. or maybe even 95/5.
Good video. I did think you went on about fuel economy a little too much, people should tend to know what a high horsepower modern car is like on fuel anyway. Decent off boost, crap on boost basically. Keep up the good work.
I just like to let people know the real world possibilities, especially if they’re half decent! 😊 Think the R was good all round to be honest. Subscribe - there’s more coming! 😬
@@TheAutoDad yea I've subscribed. I have a red 2018 r estate too. Went from a 2016 focys rs after starting a family this year. Although notvas exciting as the rs, it's not far off it as a drivers car, which surprised me. But as a normal everyday comfy family car it murders the rs. So much nicer inside, more comfy, the space is incredible and ride quality is 100 times better. I do miss the rs, but not regretting my decision at all. The rs looked better as a performance car, but the r estate is understated and thats what I now need with a baby in the car
It's definitely a sleeper, I thought it was a normal Golf review by the title.. :D Golf R sounds great in theory, maybe not so much in actuality though,
Interesting what people see as being better looking. Spielbergs are better than Pretorias, but to me, the bog standard Cadiz are "the" Golf R alloy. Pretorias are far too generic. Spielbergs less so. Maybe that's what my nearly new one came with, as there was only one 7.5R Estate in the colour I wanted, so I took it as it came ie with Cadiz. But one thing I have to disagree with is when you state the RS3 and 140 are more engaging. They may well be, but they aren't a small estate car that has lots of versatility, so I don't think you can really compare. And one other thing - £43k for "this type of noise". Well that noise comes through the speakers and is far too mickey mouse. I've coded mine down to 20% using OBD11, but tempted to turn it completely off.
I was comparing the standard hatch on driving terms, not the estate. In normal 5-door setup they’ve got it over the Golf I think. However, as an estate it’s absolutely useful as you said. :) The noise on the outside isn’t bad, but yeeeeah.. the synthesiser does generate a lot of internal noise haha. I was told there’s a fuse which can be pulled - which will cut out the synthetic noise entirely..?
Perrrsonally i dont like it as a wagon, its not a real hatch then is it? or does the hatch at the back count? :D still, lovely colour and sounds amazing. 43,000 is a lot of money thoooo
