@ExoticCarDIY - Thanks for all the great vids. +1 for you making one contrasting the W212 vs. W213 for performance, driving dynamics, serviceability, and intangibles, even if it's just you talking (which you do very well BTW). I love my W212 E63 but have always been intrigued by the W213's hot-V engine, the additional gears in the transmission, and the wheel/tire/suspension differences. There's no one on RU-vid more knowledgeable about these cars than you!

I really really wanna make this video. I don't have a place to film a performance comparisons. I can occasionally use the private airport for a few quick runs, but they are strict on no racing. Hopefully I'll get it worked out soon

Driven the 213 on track, it’s a great car but I would have a 212 any day. It has that deep bassy rumble you only get once you go over 5 litres and feed more effortless from a torque perspective too. Would love to know your thoughts Kenny.

I do my E63 through the dipstick. I bought a $99 pump from amazon that holds 9 liters of fluid. But i just put the hose through the dipstick tube until it cant go in any further and pump the vaccuum and walk away. Come back in 20 min and all my oil is out. Not a single drop of oil anywhere, no going underneath the car, and very clean.

Mercedes uses extractions on most of it's vehicles, however for some reason they don't want an extractor used on the m177/m157... The WIS says for these motors you need to drain it from the bottom. (Not my word, theirs) How do you change the filter that's on the bottom?
@benjaminarthur6110
@benjaminarthur6110 Год назад
My 2015 E63 AMG S oil filter is on top. I dont own the W213 body, I own the W212 body with the M157 engine, but the oil i use is Mobil1 ( as it says so on the sticker when you lift the hood per recommended oil per Mercedes ). Costs me leas than $90 versus $200+ at any shop. If you have to get underneath the car to access the oil filter, might as well drain it from the bottom like you did. I figured it would be less "messy" extracting it from up top and then replacing the filter. But i love your videos and watch them even if I know what to do. I just like see other owners with E63s
@ExoticCarDIY
@ExoticCarDIY Год назад
@@benjaminarthur6110 oh, I got you... Yeah, I have videos for both the 212 and 213. I'm not sure why Mercedes decided to put the filter on the bottom of the in 177 Yeah the extractors are extremely convenient.

Most American attitude ever. Let me finance my way into this (used) luxury car and then Ill make it work financially by skimping on maintenance. In Europe "re-imports" are offered on the market. European cars, that have been sold in the US and then re-imported to Europe. They're cheap, and nobody wants them and this is why.
@ExoticCarDIY
@ExoticCarDIY 5 месяцев назад
Not a single one of my cars are financed. You sound like a miserable, pathetic individual, I pity you. Nothing you said is correct or even loosely based on facts. Most European attitude ever. Get off my channel, wouldn't want you to get your manicured fingernails dirty

@@ExoticCarDIY I didnt say you financed, I spoke generally about the American attitude. But its funny that a grown man would be this offended by a generic statement and its sad that you think remarks about nail polish and projecting some miserable life into me is relevant in any way. I wouldve expected that from a child, not a grown ass man. Cars in America show a lot more problems, are less reliable and are often in way worse condition than the same cars in Europe. This is largely due to the fact that Americans slap "mods" and cheap ECU tuning onto their cars and top that off with some good old uninformed backyard tinkering trying to save a few bucks by cutting corners on maintenance.

I personally wouldn't trust any of my cars to a 17 yr old shop boy making $18hr. You realize the dealer are not using their master technicians to do oil changes, right? The amount you make has zero to do with it, obsessed enthusiasts will always do a better, job.
