2018 Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress Complete Show HD
Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress is a rotating theater attraction located at the Magic Kingdom park at the Walt Disney World Resort in Bay Lake, Florida just outside of Orlando, Florida. Created by both Walt Disney and WED Enterprises as the prime feature of the General Electric (GE) Pavilion for the 1964 New York World's Fair, the attraction was moved to Tomorrowland at Disneyland in Anaheim, California as Carousel of Progress, remaining there from 1967 until 1973. It was replaced in Disneyland by America Sings in 1974, and reopened in its present home in the Walt Disney World Resort's Magic Kingdom in 1975.

I wish there was an 80’s or 90’s segment. It would be nice to see how shocked the father is about computers first coming out and he can make witty jokes about trends and Patricia can jam to some classic 90’s or 80’s music it would be great!

islandblader It was a predicament of what the future “tomorrow” would look like, but it’s outdated today, seeing as we have a lot of that stuff and some things extremely similar to that, that was the goal of the last scene, to show you the future, it used to be a dream and something imagined, but now we have a lot of that stuff in the finale scene, it’s incredible how far we’ve come! Like the guy in this ride says!

There used to be a 1980's segment when the show was moved to Florida in 1975. That was their future. The impact of women taking over in the workplace, cable television, laser disk players, and personal computers was looked at. The mother was an accountant and the daughter was a musician. All through the show the father was talking about how it will always be a man's world. In the end he had to eat his words.

There are some features that you remember as a child. My parents took us around 1975 (i was 15) and the park was still relatively new. That was before home computers, cell phones and televisions were still limited to channels 2 thru 13. I remember thinking this would be so boring but I was amazed how each segment bragged about the modern conveniences. I wondered what improvements we would have in 20 years. Now about 45 years later it amazes me how much we have now and what the future still holds. It is one ride that I always visit.

I have an embarrassing story to tell about the Carousel of Progress. The last time I went to WDW was for Thanksgiving 2017. I enjoyed rides like Space Mountain et al., but I was scared to go on this. Why? Because I had a massive crush on John Cameron Swayze (quit laughing at me), and I’d heard that Mr. Swayze was given a passing mention in the dialogue of the Carousel (good ol’ Camel News Caravan days, LOL). So I didn’t go on it. My brother went on it and, yes, he said they did mention his name. Next time I go to MK, I am going to go to the Carousel of Progress, while wearing a custom shirt that loudly proclaims my love for John Cameron Swayze. He died in 1995, so I know it’s creepy. I know it was just a passing mention; it’s not like he actually showed up in the thing, LOL. I know I’ll get laughed at. But I will do it. I won’t post pictures; no way am I going to show my face. But LIKE THIS COMMENT if you are a fan of Mr. Camel News Caravan himself! (Camel News CaraFAN?)

They need NOT to replace the ride ever, but rather refresh the scenes and add modern animatronics. Merge scene #2-3 to focus on both electricity and inventions up to the 50s, scene #4 moved to scene #3 and have scene #4 replaced with a fun prediction of the future, since VR or voice command is common technology these days.

Ride needs to change...when it first came out, the first part was what the grandparents would remember, the seconds being what parents remember, the third being what the kids see, the the fourth being what the future could hold. No one alive today was alive when the first scene takes place. Update!! Start it with a 50’s/60’s scene, transition to an 80’s/90’s, then 2000’s/2010’s, and then an image of the future

I got it all solved! Ok so here's how it goes: -The narrator, we can gather was born in the late 1800s which is why he's able to tell us so much about the turn of the century. -When we see the narrator again, in the 1920s he is now the father of his first born son (who is the grandfather in the final scene) -In the Final scene (supposedly taken place in the 1980s) we see the narrators son (who is the grandfather), and his wife (the grandmother playing the video games) the grandfathers own kids, (which are the man in the green apron and the woman at the desk) And their children. -We notice the original narrator (the grandkids great great grandfather) is no longer seen in the final decade (presumed to have since passed away) and has now most likely taken up residence inside the Haunted Mansion! Which is why his grandson is the one left to tell us about the newest decade! It all makes sense!

They age 3 years every 20 years so if my math is right (which admittedly it probably isn’t) they age 6% as much as a normal person would

"Travel by train from New York to California in 3 days". And they seem to have stalled there. 2020, and Siri says it still takes 3 days to get from New York to California via Amtrak if you don't want to deal with the TSA.
