Meet the new Yamaha R1M - the top-spec Yamaha superbike. It’s our new long-term test motorcycle and it just arrived - so we went to the Yamaha dealer to do the unboxing and the first engine start.
We have some big plans for this bike: to ride both on street and track, to transform it to a racetrack killer and to put it against its rivals. Stay tuned for more.

All motorcycles come like that. Easier to transport since you can load them on top of each other but you won't be able to do that if it was not in a box. Also sturdier, no movement.

+Jay Hall You obviously know nothing. Stock exhausts on any car/bike from the factory restrict the bike's power because of all the emissions/sound regulations in place. Once you get a full system, it will let the bike breathe better, giving you performance gains with a proper tune.

A very lucky kid you are. Be thankful for having that awesome bike. I have one yamaha bike on my garage, been my partner during my younger years and they are truly dependable bike. You can never go wrong with YAMAHA.

RonB Young Living How is he a kid? or in your words very lucky? He obviously worked hard and saved money to buy the motorcycle. There is no luck in that. You make your own "luck". Don't give me a lecture because I am a very mature 24 year old. I am saving money right now and once I graduate from my university, I will buy my bike. That's not luck.

Brother, never ever start a new bike straight out of the "box" without checking all the other fluids. You may have but you didn't mention checking them. Just to be sure and to not ruin a new motor the factory failed to check.

tareq aziz every bike from manufacture is at least started once to ensure it runs before it is shipped out to dealerships. So in that turn they do have engine oil in the motor.

shouldve wiped those oil drops off the end can/silencer before starting ,,, after it gets hot it will leave a stain

Incredible looking bike! I had the very first R1 in 1999 and was an amazing bike and sure miss it! I don't really care for this exhaust sound though! It sounds too much like a twin or a Ducati..I guess maybe I'd get used to this beautiful machine though!

Very sexy bike ....but I'll still get me the ninja zx10rr comes race ready an has about 197hp ...ECU flash tune an full Exhaust an itll push 215 to 220hp .....a d it's a monster on track itll give the R1m a run for its money .....there's a reason the zx10 won those championships. Recently....dont get me wrong I love the R1M AN would love to own one too lol ....but I like the zx10 a bit more ....only thing I dislike on zx10 is that it's pretty wide but its light too the zx10rr that is .....both of these bike are monsters
