Alfa Romeo probably does the most beautiful factory wheels of all manufacturers.

E39 M5 is tops for me. Also like many of the Lambo wheels of the last 20 years though personally I drive Ferrari. Most cars these days, when I idly play with the car configurator on the website, lose my interest when it comes to wheel designs. Current BMW, Porsche, MB: I just don't see anything I like in the least.

Really nice, but the 2021 Aston Martin DBX wheels are pure art.

Saab 9-5 , The final generation have these turbine looking wheels with like 20 different spokes all pointed in towards the middle. Literally looks like the inside of a jet engine. I want to buy one just to look at it and put it on my wall.

I own a giulia qv. After coming from an E92 M3, I must admit I did think it was a little quiet at first. I also thought slighter wider arches would have been great. After owning the car for a while though, I must say, I really love it. Its an absolute beast, but so liveable, and it really hooks you in. Chassis, steering and power delivery are really special. And it's such a stunning yet understated car.

@youremostwelcome I drive my qv in race mode 95 percent of the time with the gearbox set to manual mode. I use the paddles or the shifter itself to change. For a torque converter auto it's top notch. 95 percent as quick as a dct in race mode, but smoother. I would still rather a dct, but it is a very impressive set up and the ratios are bang on

In the late 70's early 80's I had three Alfas. First a 69 Giulia with Weber carbs that was a hoot to drive but after putting in two head gaskets I had to let it go. Then a 72 Giulia with fuel injection that I drove from Vancouver to Toronto and back without a problem. Got 30mpg as well. Lastly a 2000 GTV that I loved but a drunk ran into the back and wrecked it. Sure wish I had that car today. Really enjoyed them all. Wish I could afford one of these new ones. Seems like a great resurgence for Alfa.

This video just happened to show up in my recommendations. I did not expect a review this good! I rarely quickly give a channel a sub and a like, but this one was deserved. Also helps that this is my favorite car at the moment haha. One interesting part about the car is the interior. IMHO in terms of looks, it doesn't seem or feel very new. Not much inside with the dashboard, instrument cluster, etc seems to inspire much. While that seems like a drawback, I think that will be an asset in the future. A full TFT instrument cluster looks nice now, but how low-resolution will those full displays look in 8 years? A lot of these new car gimmicks won't help some of these cars age well. My family has a 2007 Audi A8, and it has analog gauges with a 4.2 inch screen sandwiched in between. That's really helped prevent our car from feeling like it's close to 12 years old.

A little harsh i thought Harry. You say it is a 9/10 car but you want more noise from the V6, more fins and spoilers and more excitement. Perhaps you should take it to the track Harry? How much can you really get from a 510HP, 1650KG rear wheel drive 4 door saloon on the road at semi legal speeds, over what it already gives you? 9/10 seems pretty damn good!!! It rides beautifully, it goes like stink, it has proved reliable and take it to the track and you can drift it all day long, or set a really fast time. Isn't this Alfa exactly what we have all been waiting for. Whats the point of a even more expensive hardcore version that you can't really use on the road, BMW keep getting it wrong with the M3 and that sounds terrible. I am pretty sure you could lose £10K very easily on this car. I think you are too much of an enthusiast perhaps Harry, with such a glorious history, we all want the perfect Ferrari beating Alfa, yet that history is over half a century ago at it's most recent really. Lets celebrate what we have here, a good looking, usable, well built, very fast everyday car that rides better than most in its sector. And without too many extras, a very competitive price point. M3 anyone, well maybe the new switchable 4 wheel drive one....

Agree, one of the main selling points for me in this car is the discreet yet powerful styling. If and when i buy one i want it in silver so it blends in more. A car for adults.

Yes it is a beautiful car and powerful looking but still elegant and tasteful. Not like the M3 which just looks silly and fussy by comparison, or the C63 which looks like a C220d on big wheels.. I think they got the balance just right without going OTT.

I test drove one of these last month, and can agree with a lot that you say. There's definitely a small lack of communication through the steering wheel when cornering briskly, but as you said the car just does it. I put it down to being so far off the limits at the time that the car wasn't feeding back anything awry. I think I need more than an hour in the thing though. The only thing i'd take issue with is the "9/10ths" bit - to me it was every bit deserving of it's accolades and not once I felt it was lacking. In it's aim of being a usable everyday rocketship I think it achieved, and certainly left me feeling much better than the Caymans i'd been underwhelmed with. I also drove a Veloce, and it felt special in a rep car way, but not a patch on the QV.

The Corsas don't help the feedback either. On Pilot Sport 4S, there's a much improved steering feel.

Thanks Harry, lovely to see a really honest opinion on this my favourite saloon of the moment. And not on track in typical uk B road situation. I sense through your description the car lacked a bit of drama and connection. I understood fully your description of the car not letting you know and giving you the 100% confidence to push it hard. Some chassis just transmit that from the seat of your pants. I have driven a tuned version of the Giulia not the QV and was really impressed. The ZF gearbox is a gem, and the steering as you said is so alert, quick and sensitive, and the ride quality really nice. Never bangs or crashes in any drive mode. :-) Keep up the great work Harry. Look forward to you testing Alfa's next release, lets hope its a coupe.

Nicely done, Harry. Quiet enthusiasm with great observations about living with this car. It now seems more a willing companion than the beast it's made out to be. :) Now, please review the lesser Ti for the rest of us.

Good choice of vehicle to review Harry, good point also I think when you talked about how the Giulia is a fantastic base for building the next Alfa Romeo top model where they can be more daring with the design and maybe make it have better feedback from the steering. Good review Harry as usual I have to say.

But it's either that or a really high-quality merino wool or angora wool mix. But if is full cashmere in that thickness, then you will pay that price for it. My 1st visit to "Harry's Garage", and I'm impressed. That doesn't happen very often. I've owned hundreds of cars in my fairly long life, a few Alfas among them. I'm currently on my 7th Lexus, a 2006 GS300 SE-L, which has very kingly been "breathed on" by my local Lexus dealership. It now has a top-end of 172·6mph! (Achieved over a measured runway for accuracy) Yet it's still silent, super comfortable and utterly reliable. It also returns excellent economy; giving 43mpg at 70mph, on a motorway in cruise and between 21 and 32 mpg around town. I'm happy. (Questions about the other 6 dwarves will not be answered). Anyway; an excellent video in every respect. I shall be on the lookout for more. Thank you Harry.

Lovely car, and I do read you, and indeed I can see where you are coming from, but I think that Alfa did really want a truly mature and usable fast saloon, rather than a hardcore, raspy, noisy AMG-esque car that you cannot use on a daily basis. This is designed and built to give real sheer joy an a DAILY BASIS.

Damn quite harsh on the Alfa - seems like that's a lot of car for 70K. 191 top speed, in a 5 seater with a big boot and sub 4.5 to 62 mph.......and all in a comfortable car you can relax in whilst travelling hundreds, if not thousands of miles. I'd take one if I had that kind of money.

I remember seeing a few reviews of this car here in the states and they all said the brakes were bad (spongy?) and they changed them out for better ones. I've seen a few of these on the road here and I really like the look of them. Great review Harry!

Interesting review, great to hear your take Harry. One of the best looking cars on the road at the moment IMO, but agree there could be more drama. Have seen a few lower spec Giulias and had to double take. Hard to distinguish as a QV, especially from the front. So much more classy than an M3 though, love the image.
