I go through the things I like and the few things I dont like about my 2019 BMW F90 M5 Competition. ~-~~-~~~-~~-~ Please watch: "The Future you Deserve" • The Future You Deserve... ~-~~-~~~-~~-~
You can make a shortcut with one of the presets for the radio for the back climate control. Just hover over the rear climate and hold one of the preset buttons!!
Hey...so the trunk button from within the cabin near the left foot of the driver...does close the trunk, as well. I forget if you need to press down or pinch up...but all you need to do is continuously hold it. So try it. Hold it down or up for 5 seconds. I too have a 19 model completion. I did my breakin in December...so maybe they gave me software update.
@@Busterburg also you can code it so you don't have to hold it, not sure if you're anywhere near NJ but I can do it for you. With rear climate there is a way to sync the whole car together
as a former F90 M5 owner I'll add. 1) Lane assist is not as good as Tesla's, it doesn't keep the perfect middle of the lane, my wife has a 2020 X5 and this one is more like Tesla in precision in lane-keeping, it even changes the lanes on itself. 2) wireless charge, correct, very inconvenient, I have an iPhone XS Max, very hard to get it back. 3) brakes - the main reason I traded it back, they squick like crazy, and dealership won't do anything about it. 4) Apple CarPlay- the screen doesn't extend to the full screen, this was fixed in the latest BMW models. Other than that, great car and all you said is correct.
You’ve probably received answers here but the seats are “ventilated” but not cooled according to BMW. On the trunk if you continue to lift up on the trunk button it should close the trunk, however if you release the button before it’s fully closed it will stop closing. This can be coded using “Bimmer Code” and an OBD2 adapter.
problem 1 : Climate control sync, just with one button? you can do it. program the desired setting on one of the short cut key (1-8) and with one press, you get what you want. Ask any BMW garage how to program it if you have problem.
The dealership I bought it from didn't let me know that, they only showed me how to turn off the rear climate control when I asked. Thanks for the help.
I just want to say you sir are blessed this is the car I dream about but can’t afford I currently have 2013 f02 740li even tho tons of people would love to have my car I can always find details I dislike just as you do with your beautiful car take care of it happy holidays
Is it needs to go to the workshop often ? :D Like every month something new is broken and needs to be fixed? Or just fill the tank and go ? :D I am asking because I don't have the best history with BMW and I want to buy f90 m5 next year and I am doing research about the car maitainance costs. Because maybe I am crazy but I will drive it as my daily car so it needs to be reliable :D
Hi from Malaysia, truly a great car talk. Definitely will get myself one of this in future without a doubt. BTW, I'm the no.400 who subscribed your channel keep it up 🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻
@@Busterburg yeah and no laser lights... you can retrofit the lights if you buy them but it's expensive so ehhh... same with display key you can retrofit but you can't summon the car or even remote start so it's just a gimmick and nothing more
It does close and open you just have to hold it. I have an 18 and I can open it and close it from the driver seat no problem you just have to hold it up or hold it down
My trunk closes whenever I hold up the trunk button long enough. I didn’t realize it at first because you need to hold it up longer than you would expect. It’ll beep and close simultaneously. If yours is beeping but doesn’t close it’s an issue with your car.
I wasn't holding it long enough. I guess I expected it to keep closing without me holding the button.so yeah it beeps and closes if I hold the button up. Thanks for that help.
I picked up a brand new 2019 M5 last month and I know the feeling. I too tried to get the Smart Display key to no avail. Also, I have a Note9 and it doesn't fit with the wireless charging pad either. Otherwise, I love my car. Especially considering, I didn't walk in looking to buy a new car that day, lol. Keep the videos coming.
It was an amazing car. My kids got too big for the back seat so I sold it but I will get another one soon. I bought an Alpina B7 for the longer wheelbase so the kids will fit. It’s an amazing car but just not the same.
There’s no remote start my 540i has the display key and the only way u can start the engine is if u use the remote to move ur car back and forth but amazing car bro !
Wtf... just 355 subscribers? you gotta be kidding... I watched a good amount of the video then I realized I should subscribe than I realize you only got 355 subscribers... hold up... man I thought you had atleast 400k 500k subscribers... the content was actually so up there.... dude why are the people whose content quality are good so fu*kin underrated man..... Oh god I hope you come with a blast and actually more people get to know you... well I don't know about others but... you made me a man of ur content...
I can't fit my Samsung in it and my iPhone wouldn't either. I know the newest iPhone has the same screensize but a smaller foot print so that probably helps. I found out that I have to hold up on the trunk button instead of just pulling it and letting it go.
I tried on the M5 and it didn't work. I have tried on the X7 and it doesn't work either. It could be user error but I don't know how I could mess up pushing a button 3 times.
I have an m550i ( used to have an x6m and x6 before that) and i have the display key on my car ( it’s an option) so u definitely do have that option on an m5
Hey how you doing? How do you like the m550i compared to the x6m? I’m debating between the m5 comp and X5m/X6m. How do these suvs/coupe compare to m5/550? Thanks!
Do you not know what those numbers on the entertainment do? Those are presets to take you to menu options. You can program the rear temp control screen to be one of those buttons.
Does it have an eco mode so you can save gas when your stuck in traffic. I hate see the gas meter drop faster then it supposed to. I current have a 2016 kia soul ex which is taking alot of gas due to a clutch lock up solenoid. The scary part of it is that my dealership says it will prematurely wear out my souls clutch rings.
I think you are just trying to find flaws when they don’t exist. Dude , you must be the first person ever to complain about a fuel cap 🤣🤣. My friend owns one and Value for money , there is no car as powerful and capable as an m5 comp. What a machine
I know the gas cap isn't a big deal but I was just listing the things that are annoying to me. I hate that you have to put it in the little holder it's stupid. The technology exists to just get rid of the cap and it's way more convenient. And for a car in that price rang its expected to have those little convenience options.
It’s an amazing machine, but I think at the end of the day we all realize the cars are not worth the money- look at my 2011 335 xdrive almost a 50k car do I think it feels like it now meh when a car is over 5 years older just like all else it feels outdated
I agree with some parts of the car feeling outdated but my 08 M5 was pure fun to drive and the older tech was not a killer in my love for the car. I owned a 62 Continental and it was amazing. I think if you buy the right ones I think the short comings are out weighed by the good.
Honestly, swap the wheels and tires. Go from 275/285-35r20 to 275/285-40r19... it makes a noticable difference in ride comfort. Unless you're tracking the car the slightly smaller rim size doesn't change daily driving handling at all, it's mostly for "looks" and also helps a little with shit road surfaces and bumps.
@@dodo19923 thanks! I opted for a fully kitted M340i Touring in the end. I'm a mountain biker with kids and the format is just a little smarter for me. And it gives me all the perf I want for small mountain roads, with a more recent interior. It's also more versatile (comfort mode is proper comfy).
My 2020 M5 is iDrive 7 (M5 went iDrive 7 in 2020) and won't start remotely. My wife has a 2020 X5 with iDrive7 and it starts with three clicks of the lock button on the remote. Dealer said its not engaged for my car which is BS, likely can be recoded but I don't care enough to try.
It doesn't make sense to me either. I am fine with it not having it but because of the price of this car I would expect it to have those types of options.
I don’t think M cars will have remote starts. Not quite sure. It’s weird honestly, some cars before iDrive 7 had remote start and some 2019 IDrive 7 cars don’t. Really annoying tbh
@@Busterburg The "reliability" argument always annoys me... it's a high performance sports sedan, not a banger honda you can abuse. Folks expect to buy a 100k car and never have to spend a penny on it which is hilarious.... "Lets buy a highly strung vehicle, abuse it and drive it like an idiot all day every day without letting the car warm up/cool down properly then complain when it has problems. Love those rear lights dude.
@@dodo19923 yeah warming up is super important for these. Cool down the car is really good at doing even if you turn it off and walk away which is helpful.
@@Busterburg Yep. So my brother had a 2018 competition and i spent a couple of weeks with it while he was on holiday (not cheap for the insurance lol). I found 5-10 mins normal driving then you can hoon the hell out of it then 5-10 mins before you arrive at whatever place you're going to just ease off and drive normally again and the engine will thank you for it. His was tuned to around 750hp so not stock, but i can safely say i've never driven ANYTHING as scarily quick.
@@Busterburg hi there, i heard that on bmw's and lot of cars they are restricting the cooling efect cause lot of people were reporting this as problem and get sick from the constant cold air in the lower back
I loved mine and miss it everyday. I will definitely get another one once my kids move out they were getting too big for the back seat. They got my height. (6'5")
@@josephnotforyoutoknow1676 Standard brakes. The squeaks have become louder and sounds like a bus coming to a stop now. BMW NA and local dealers say it's normal. Have tried jetwashing, foam, aftermarket brakes, and no luck.
I haven't had any issues with the car and the regular maintenance has been covered. So it hasn't cost me anything. I get about 14 mpg with mixed driving, if it's more highway I get around in the low 20's
