I raced IM Italy. When Cam finished the race I was still on the bike. I just tell myself he did not get to enjoy the Italian countryside during the bike as much as I did. In fact, riding through on of the small towns, some guy in front of his house was offering wine, dont ask how I know that, I just do.
The more I see of cam the better he gets. That man needs shud be the face of ironman for his banter alone. Need more people like him. Cam for the win sunday.
Super cool dude..... he'll be on the podium in the years ahead, for sure! Bob, these interviews are the best part of Kona week!!! Thanks!!! Keep 'em coming!!
With 8 ironman in a year he probably did as much permanent damage to his body like a normal pro does in 4 years. He will pay for that after his time in sport immensely.
When he was rider at Cannondale and had to ride 3000+km in 3 weeks in a Grand Tour, he probably wasn't doing his body much good either. Then within a few months, do it all again at another Grand Tour. Yet here he is. May in his 80s he won't be able to walk.
@@TheDomLouis the marathons are pure poison though... I really hope his body is extremely good at fast recovery, otherwise he will need new joints in his 50s.
@@michaeloreilly8587 you are right he was with Cannondale and raced Both Vuelta and Giro d'Italia in 2013. He's training/hanging around the Sky guys now.
Nah, with the tapering and recovery, a racing schedule can be less demanding on body than a training schedule. These athletes will be far healthier into old age than folks sitting in front of screens all day, believe that.
