Porsche 911 RSR is a batshit crazy little 242 cu. in. n.a./520 h.p. engine screaming at 10,000 rpm taking on all larger boosted engines- that David vs. Goliath style has made Porsche famous for the last 70 years.
Agree 1000% !!! Just the engines roaring around the track during qualifying was absolutely amazing! Felt like being there behind the scenes, great stuff! Mistake or not hope it happens again sometime.
I'm thankful for the effort Hindhaugh, Shaw, Adam and co. put in but it was amazing to have that blast of raw sound for this session. I'd love it if they worked in a commentary free segment during each race or quali.
IMSA should make uploading a No Commentary version a regular thing. Qualifying is simple enough to follow and the replays make it easy to make up your own commentary.
I've been attending road racing ( imsa ) events since 1987....when the Mazda 4 rotor battled it out with the twin turbo Nissan and mustang....been hooked ever since... loved the vette vs viper battles in the late 99/ 2000 and the prodrive Ferrari vs Corvette....now there are so many manufacturers participating...a dream come true...its good to be alive to see this technology
OMG THIS IS GLORIOUS!!! Nearly 35 minutes of just engine sounds and nice environmental atmosphere like the fountain and such. Wonderful footage! Thank you IMSA!!!
I guess because it reminds me of my home track at bell isle,The track here in Michigan is sort of like this and both are in the American Le Mans sires so I guess it’s a win win Just so you know this is one of my favorites,my favorite track is the bell isle one since it’s here at home in the motor city
MJY5 THE RACING GAMER that’s cool, I didn’t know there as a race track in MI, my mom is from Pontiac. I know nothing of racing except when I wake up and hear the cars in Long Beach.
Wow those Porsche’s and Corvettes sounds are intoxicating. Now we need the actual race uploaded ASAP! What a race!!! Last lap excitement, Corvette pride, NEED to watch that race again and again. Please hurry hahaha
This needs to become standard procedure. I love John, Jeremy, and Shea but can IMSA broadcast all qualifying sessions like this? Let the cars do the talking!
Just figured out Porsche’s strategy. Bring the other teams down through BOP for three years. Then crank things back up and crash into the fords when necessary. They should just turbo the car and homoligate with the gt2 engine. I have to say Porsche’s got their drivers pushing full tilt and that’s fun to watch. They are right on the edge.
The lack of comms in the beginning is clearly a mishap but once they come back this becomes a good example how badly mixed the sounds usually are. With the comms the track sounds are almost MUTED.
The lack of commentators was such a treat. I have wanted for so long an option to turn them on and off for any sport. especially motorsports. The noises we dont hear because hearing people talk are more satisfying. We hear people talk all day long. I certainly rarely hear anything like this during my usual day.
I absolutely love your guys commentating but it was awesome hearing the cars at full input. I don't want you guys out if the loop, EVER. But some laps during a race while you guys take a break would be welcome. We're all car people here. Nothing beats being at the track in person, but a little taste on video would be a good move on the production side. Take 5 or 10 to grab refreshments and crank the camera audio to 100%. I did miss your invaluable input and enthusiasm throughout GTLM Qualifying.
We unfortunately had audio issues that were unable to be resolved until mid-way through the Prototype qualifying session. Hopefully you enjoy the rumble of the engines until then.
