I have a 2005. I plan to ride her until her wheels fall off. Part by part...I have replaced nearly 70% of her original parts. She was used, neglected, and abused when I got her but she still held stong (as is) for 3 years without the 70% of work. She was a "salvaged" car. Now she was given a clean title and runs great. Everyone laughed at me. But she is still on the road. She has rescued nearly everyone who doubted her or I have had to give them a ride or jump. I just can't give up on her until I have to. I guess I'll never get this 2019 if this is the last of the Impalas. The price now is 😲 and years from now it will be a classic🤑. Great review. She's beauty!
I just bought one of these awesome car and looks very different then most impalas on the road also the upgraded tires give it a far better ride 19 inch wheels where perfect this car on camera does no justice
No Name Oh it will, give it like 10 more years. Unless they get bailed out, *again* or bought out. and cutting of the few vehicles like the Impala are the first indications
Even tho the Midnight Edition looks nice and wicked there and all but still prefer the two tailpipes behind it. Gives it the look with the two tailpipes better then the one tailpipe.
This is a very nice and well reviewed car. In fact, it is Consumer Reports to rated large car. Unfortunately. GM is giving up on most of car market. I think this is short sighted because market could come back. I'd discontinue all the subcompact cars.
Loved my 2012 Impala, but GM is still stuck in 2008. I bought a 2018 loaded V6 charger and love it. Blows this Impala out of the water with features and power.
Lol.. the LFX makes more power than the Pentastar and thanks to its archaic RWD platform the Charger is smaller on the inside and heavier. That means it’s slower... look at all of the RU-vid videos of V6 Chargers getting blown away by Impalas. Maybe the Dodge has more features, but most of them will be broken very soon. Oh.. and why not get a V8? Because price, gas, and insurance are through the roof and these cars already have the insane V8 performance they lusted over in the 90s. They will school all but the rare highest performance V8 muscle cars of the 20th century. Why do you need more? So you can be at the same light 30 seconds later as the person you “beat”? So you can brag that you have the highest performance version of a car almost nobody cares about? So you can impress all of the trailer trash mouth breathers who don’t know that all you have to do is pay your credit card on time to get a loan for anything with wheels? So you can compensate for your insecurities and protect your fragile masculinity?
I have a 2009 Impala and I love it. It's a solid car. I plan on buying another one. I just test drove a 2017 today but I plan on purchasing a 2019 or 2020.
Impala is a nice design. If only it can come in all wheel or rear wheel I'd get one. And oh yes, right wheel steering coz not all car buyers are from US
That is a very nice looking car. That gas mileage looks amazing too. Almost empty 130 miles left? On my car that would be 59 miles or something. Good review! I would say feel more free to express how you really feel about things and be more (not sure how to say?) critical? Anyway, I died laughing when you tried to use voice command.
Costs extra on a "higher end" model. Should be standard. I have a 2018 and my biggest complaint is headlights / night driving. Cost a pretty penny to update as well.
Doug would score it a 7 out of 10. I have a 2014 lt2 v6 305hp. With a tune and intake. Its. Rocket ship of performance and it handles firm but smooth.. if you want to drive these cars hard you need to hold down the traction control button for 15 seconds. Your dash will flash traction control off within 2 seconds.. keep holding the button then at 15 seconds the stability management off will display. Now you have a steet ripper that will 0 to 60 in 5 sec. If you have the v6 model it comes with speed rated 18 wheels and tires.. i will confirm from my own driving that stock the v6 will top out at 146mph on a flat roadway. It just runs outa torque. With the tune you get to speed faster but top end was 154... again runs outa torque to pull it past 160. Rev limiter never hits in.
I own a red 2014 impala 2ltz and looks identical to this except mine has a grey interior. I get hella compliments from uber riders on how nice the car is. GM shouldnt have discontinued the impala
7 model years and no physical changes. Not even the rims. The biggest change was offering Android Auto and Apple Car Play. The rest was all colours and package options.. with the typical GM move of offering previously high trip and optional equipment as standard.
J.R.'s Car Reviews ...for some strange reason, this is one of- if not your most popular video! and it's ironic, considering all of the negative comments and opinions of Chevy and the Impala. I'm curious as to why such an unpopular, un-liked, 'outdated' car makes for such a popular video... if anyone viewing this video cares to speculate or theorize as to why, i'd be curious to hear from you. Also, I've never seen someone w/ 758 subs get 22K views on a video. 🤔🤔🤔
Beware of the 2018 Chevrolet Impala back up camera. In the rain the dash board screen image could be extremely blurry due to rain drops on the rear camera lenses and this poor image could get someone killed or seriously injured. This is a General Motors Corporation problem!
Where can I get these exact black Chevy emblems for the front and back of the car? I want the black Chevy bow tie that still has the bumpy texture to it
@@nikemann2212 hey thanks for the answer, but i just bought 2019 impala a month ago & the storage can be opened with the car turned off i opened it like that all the time after i realize I've left stuff in it
If you put the car in Valet Mode - The trunk/ radio/climate control nor that storage area can be accessed without a code being typed in that you set whenever you enable the feature.
Things I would change: 1. 3.5L instead of 3.6. 2. No push button start. Key ignition, but keep the outside remote start. 3. All analog gauges. 4. 5-speed manual or automatic. 5. Rear wheel drive. 6. Turbo.
Marco Gomez The doors won’t stay locked if the key fob is in the car and you lock the doors with the exterior button. The doors will unlock and the car will honk at you.
Yep. I don’t care about the electronic parking brake. Truth be told I’ve had more problems with mechanical ones. But the location is weird. On my Civic it’s located on the centre console where a regular hand brake would be. I find myself constantly reaching down there to activate it because the right hand is already moving from the gear shift or selector.
Uh.. because that’s what most car makers have done for the last 40 years? Except Dodge who in spite of being a huge pioneer of front wheel drive has gone back to the dark ages with the Charger and 300.. which means in V6 trim they are heavier, less roomy, and slower than the Impala. And who cares? Can you even tell where the power is being put down on what’s supposed to be a boulevard cruiser or a highway mile eater? With the traction control on? Remember.. some of the best of those cars in the 60s were FWD like the Toronado, Riviera, and even the Eldorado. And the weight over the driving wheels will give them a better launch in most real world conditions and none will have issues with traction once the weight has shifted to the rear. All RWD does is make people think they are expert drivers until they switch the traction control off and find out what lift-off oversteer is like in every Mustang Cars and Coffee video. Hits gas, tail slides out: “Oh yeah!” Tail slides too much: “Oh shit, oh shit!” Lets go of gas: “OH SHIT, OH SHIT!” Hits brakes: “SHITSHITSHITSHIT!!” And usually it’s against the opposite curb with busted rims or tie rods, in the opposite ditch with a bunch of body damage, into opposing traffic, or bowling over a bunch of pedestrians. I used to work by an intersection in a quiet industrial area where this happened all the time. I should have put up a camera and made my own RU-vid channel.
Pianist Prodigy the newer models of these impalas are half assed since they decided to discontinue them and move forward with the Malibu’s smh....and if anybody wanted to get one it better be a 2LZ premier model but those are rare to come by nowadays
Bj Farrow But do the 2014 impala 2LZ have that small screen in the center console of the car? And do you consider me getting used car under 50k? If it’s possible I can find one.
Pianist Prodigy the 2014 only come in LS, LT, LTZ and the police model versions. It does have the screen in it too, I bought mine in December at a Garlyn Shelton, $19000, Black with new 20inch tires and 45000 miles on it, only one previous owner too
All of the commenters talking about the lack of a V8. How many of you have a V8 full size sedan in your driveway? Because the sales figures of V8 sedans like the Charger R/T and Chevy SS and even the Impala SS tell an entirely different story. All while Honda, KIA, Hyundai, and Toyota can keep their four cylinder sedans on the showroom floor-many of which will blow away V8 sedans from a mere generation ago off the line.
Sucks they are gonna discontinue the Impala doesn’t make since. Everybody else has high performance 4 door sedans yet GM doesn’t seem to get the picture. Make a high performance Impala and watch the sales go up instead of down. GM won’t even advertise the damm car, barely see it on TV.
Mine is the 2.5l. Ls 2015 just hit 70k... haven't changed anything other than the battery but my tranny has been really smooth still. Hope i dont run into that
I don't like power windows . Be nice to have them only for back and manual in front. The motors just don't last long and the windows come off the track to often. Expensive to replace! But it's sad to hear that Chevy will no longer be making the Impala 😑 after 2019
✔ you should invest in a better camera, 4K capable, (something w/ a wider field of view, e.g., GoPro 7), ✔ maybe wear black, for a more "professional" look. ;) ✔ and like another guy stated, feel free to share your actual feelings and opinions. otherwise, it feels like you're being paid to sell the viewer(s) some crap. (we get why you want to say "nice" to everything. but if you can't be open or honest, then don't use the word "reviews" in the channel name. you did use it in the title which was good.) good luck. who or what inspired you to start a yt channel? and what are your yt channel goals?
I will use these suggestions that you told me on my next video. What made me start my channel was this RU-vidr Cameron car reviews he was as young as I am so I thought it will be a good idea for me to do these reviews as well because I love cars
Nobody buys V8s. How many of the previous generation Impala SS did people buy? How many Chevy SSs sold? What percentage of Charger sales do the R/T, SRT-8, and Hellcat represent? This V6 will blow away a V6 Charger plus has more room to boot.
Lol.. whut? Almost every interior dimension is larger. The older Impalas were tanks but having a huge longitudinally mounted engine, a massive transmission tunnel, an annoying driveshaft hump, a solid rear axle, ladder frame rails, and a huge fuel tank to help move it all means that the volume dedicated to passengers and cargo space suffers greatly. That’s why automakers went to front wheel drive and unibody construction 40 years ago.. lol!
A Jetta is literally half the car. Even a Passat is smaller than this. Better interior? I guess. I always thought VWs looked horrendous on the inside.. so spartan that Auschwitz gets 5 stars in comparison. And your made in Mexico Jetta will be plagued with electrical problems and have things break on it that don’t even exist on the Impala.
