Never been a GM guy.. I tend to like the Tundra. But I’m really liking this new Silverado. I really appreciate GM doubling down on testing this truck. I’m going to seriously consider this truck in the near future. I’m really liking the new design!
I don’t know why a column shifter gets so much hate.... A knob sucks, and I had a console shifter in my 2015 F150.... Went back to column in my 2018 and it frees up console space!! I don’t mind the shifter up there at all!!!
Okay my 2 cents worth. I just did a 4500 mile trip, Calif/Texas, in my 2014 Denali Crew Cab with 5.3, with 4 adults and much luggage. Average was 20.4 mpg, and Texas has a lot of 80mph speed limits. Which I ignored. And horrible endless traffic jams between Waco and San Antonio.
The Silverado is personally my favorite truck. I think that High Country styling is bad ass and I love all the different engine options. The Ram comes close but I think it’s just a tad too flashy. The F-150 is easily my least favorite truck. I truly don’t understand how that thing sells so well.
The new Silverado is Sweet and Super Sharp, with Awesome Stance!! GREAT JOB CHEVY!!! And I couldn't care less about the interior, but it looks great to me!
I was in the same boat but seeing the truck in actual videos and not promotional photos seem to be doing justice to it. I didn't like the new superduties at first but now I like them as well.
k_Jay - The problem is GM kept pushing white and silver color options on their media vehicles, which really accentuated the new front end (probably their goal). In other colors like this, it looks a lot more subdued.
Lol. I love the exterior. NOW it looks oike a truck, meaner, beastier. It looks sharp edge! But i just cant get around its interior, being thats suppose to be top of the line trim (luxury) which i intend to get on whichever brand i decide to go with
I like my v8’s but I like how there challenging Ford and saying we have turbocharged trucks now to. Same litre to that’s going to be interesting to see which one is better with horse power torque and fuel economy
Ducati Ltwin I gotta agree. It's meh for a regular version. So for a top of the line version?? Man... Chevy really needs to update it ASAP. Like 2020 models. Loving the exterior more and more but the interior needs to go
Just a word of caution - the new 2019 Silverado-Sierra twins can NOT even be ordered or does NOT come with the “power brake and foot pedal” adjuster.... Think about such a large truck without this option....If you have short legs, you have to move up the seat close to the steering wheel, which has an airbag in it. This is normally a pretty standard option for most trucks (was in GM, in Ram, in Fords...)... Note-I actually own a 2017 Silverado, but some “bean counter” within GM axed this very useful feature (so they added rear vents but deleted the Power Pedal feature. Yah, this makes sense). Maybe GM truck engineer will recommend removing the Power Window option while they’re removing other options or features.
There isn't much one can to do change the silhouette of a 'truck', just tweaking minor details where it's hard to tell without comparing the older generations side by side.
I bought new LT Z71 but mine is one of the Shake-A-Radoes. It has a vibration problem. Started rusting out with less than 2,000 miles. Had both rear shackles replaced right after buying truck (truck has never been off road). Transmission has shifting problems. Rear slider window replaced right after buying truck. Read reports that about 40% of Silveradoes could have the vibration problem. My next truck will be a Ford F150, much better quality.
Reviewers love to bash the interiors of GM trucks. Yet, the interiors of GM trucks seem to last long and look better longer than those soft materials used in other trucks. That's a plus in the truck world, so these reviews are basically worthless.
That High Country looks great in black. Needs the dashboard from the Tahoe/Yukon/Escalade at least to make the interior look remotely like something that belongs in a $65k truck...
Chevy when your customers say they loved the last gen interior that doesn’t mean you should make it more generic. You can leave the layout and spruce it up and make it more luxurious. This company is just lazy,
How come none of these tester's get under the truck?? It's all about the interior and creature comforts. Do you want sissy frills or Chevrolet dependable and reliable?? RAM and Ford are full of that. I'll keep my Chevy's that I can beat on and drive for 10 plus years.
I would expect a substantial interior update in 2021 maybe sooner. Everyone was commenting on what a poor job GM did on the interior of these trucks before they were released its going to be even worse after they are out on the road. The new ram interior is much nicer. Rams downfall has always been over badging their trucks I don't need 15 badges on the interior to let me know it's a Ram.
I used to genuinely like Chevy trucks I'm tired of giving GM one chance after another only to be disappointed one time after another especially with this interior
Did you know that GM and Toyota and Honda are partners? They all build vehicles for each other. The old Honda Pilot, built by Chevrolet/Isuzu. The old Chevrolet Luv pickup, build by Isuzu. The old Chevrolet GEO, built by Toyota. If it were not for the Japanese auto manufacturers GM would not be as good as it is today.
Yes, it's true. North America has been duped into the truckcar. Since the early 2000's the truckcar has symbolized, testosterone, useless open trunk for people that think they are going to pull something or carry their neighbors mattress to the next apartment. Most truckcar buyers don't know how to use the truckcar trunk except for groceries. Subaru is right to make fun of the truckcar. This makes zero sense. Trust me, I've owned my share till the light came on.
Except I see tons of people daily using their "truckcar" to haul and tow stuff. Trucks became popular up north because of the good use of 4x4 in snow, and it just became cultural for the South and South West since it began with rural farmlands. The modern truck more or less has become the jack of all trades vehicle. They have plenty of power and capability to do the work, but can also be fun to drive. They can act as a family hauler, off-roader, or a street sport vehicle. Even as a luxury vehicle now. Just how is now Trucks are more popular than muscle/sports car, same has how Crossover/suv have taken over the family vehicle role.
They make a big advertising campaign against Ford for using aluminum to save weight now they are doing it. I like how it looks on the outside especially the TrailBoss but how are you going to redesign a vehicle from the ground up then get to the interior and say well the last one was ok we will go with that a twerk it. I mean the new Ram interior is sweet! Maybe weight for the mid-cycle refresh.
An abundant amount of big SAT-esque words from a hipster-millennial that is probably used to driving a Prius or Subaru. For as much as he complained about the proportions of this truck, the truly "ridiculous" notion is that I doubt he could lift a sheet of plywood, yet he chides the truck for being excessively large. At least he represents the market segment who will actually buy this truck and never actually use it as it was engineered to perform. Get a real truck owner to test this vehicle and give an honest review of it's performance - because all we heard here, was a recitation of the perceived performance of the brochure (not the actual vehicle.)
The funny thing is if i were to buy this truck, the first thing i would do is put 5% tint all around with 35% on the windshield, which means nobody would see the interior!!! After all its a PICK UP truck not a luxury sedan
Wow the difference of interior between Chevy and Ram is just too much to go for Chevy. Trucks have become too much about comfortable cabins as all the other features. I am not much of a truck guy so for me most important in decision making is cabin. The other features the competition is close to each other or gimmicks. Well that is my opinion. 🤔
What happened to making a truck u could use as a truck. Just can’t see filling that truck up with deer and fish getting it dirty and then having to make the payment
General Motors..... You REALLY screwed the pooch on this one. I’ve only ever driven GM trucks and this one will probably never see my garage. Interior is crap. I sat in a Denali at the dealership and my first impression was I wouldn’t pay 40k for this truck much less the 70k sticker. (I had a 2015 Denali). The only good changes I saw was a drivers side handle, and dual exhaust. Most of the changes made were just to keep up with Ford and Dodge. It’s a lesser truck In almost every way. I can only assume general motors figures people will consume this crap based on brand loyalty. Do better General Motors, do better!
🤔 Ummm didn't Chrysler/Ram do it first in trucks with MDS? I love GM hate Ford & have grown respect for Ram. That's why I have switched to Ram after being strictly GM since Chevy has disappointed with being always late to the party. Examples: Still no real threat to Raptor, Rebel or Power Wagon. TrailBoss ok but not sold on it yet.
$64k For the High Country yet it still has the same boring interior as most of the other trim levels not sure what's the big deal for $64k when Ford and Dodge have way more luxury and truck for $64k. The Chevy Tahoe looks better and more luxury for the price value. Come on Chevy do something better inside for your trucks next time stop being so outdated and simple if you want to value a truck at $64k
Not a bad truck. Not gonna lie I thought it was hideous when it just debuted (still gotta see them in person), but I'd still go with a Tundra. It may be the oldest truck in its class, and may get the worst mpg, but it's reliable proven and I'd rather spend a little extra in gas then repairs. Not to mention it's the best looking truck in the class (in my opinion), and also the cheapest.
The Chevy has the best craftsmanship truck out of the two trucks but this looks so damn dated which is a shame cuz there trucks are the best especially the durmax engine but look wise lacks big time compare To ram and ford
These trucks are junk. My 2019 Silverado 1500 LTZ is 6 weeks old with 850 miles on it and I already have that infamous hard shift issue. Will not buy a GM truck again. Love everything else about this truck but it's going to be nothing but endless visits to the repair shop now. Very disappointed
