In this video we take a 2019 Sonic RS for a drive. The Sonic will be Chevrolet's compact car now that they discontinued the Chevy Cruze. The Sonic comes in both a sedan and a hatchback. It is a great car with a compact price.
If your in the market stop by your local Chevy store and try one out.

I am so happy that I came across this video. I know it's 3 years old already, but this video is incredible to see a different model of the version that I had. I had a 2017 LT four-door sedan RS turbo model and I loved that car with my whole heart and soul. Since it was my first ever car I put my whole hard earned money into and I kept it prestigiously clean. I got it at the end of the year clearance sale right from Chevrolet themselves. And it was just everything. I had to get rid of it. The reason was due to an engine problem which was not very good. now mind you here, it had when all this happened at almost 52,000 miles. So i was driving home one day from work. So I was on the highway and I know all the bells and whistles in the car of course. So I thought why is my blinker on like wait what no I didn't leave it on all this time and I was oblivious because I was listening to the radio. So I literally then was trying to turn off the blinker but the noise still was in the car. I looked in the dash, it says engine overheating idle engine. I'm like. Are you kidding me what? So I pull right on the side of the road and then I pull into a parking lot with all the stores and stuff since I was right at that area. So anyway with that being said there was like liquid pouring all out of the car, I was like. Are you kidding me? What? And so I got it fixed right away and found out that it was the coolant system and the water pump. I literally could not even believe it and I wanted to keep that car even longer after I fixed it. I went to a really great mechanic mind you. I was so happy with the results and everything. Of course it was expensive but that's how it is. Anyway with everything I'm saying. I really wish I could still keep that car because I felt good in it. I felt happy every second. I drove it. Now since that one engine problem. I felt like what would be next and what would be you know what I mean. So that's why I did not keep it. So I then ended up buying a Subaru and I'm a little bit happy and a little unhappy with some of it. The tech in the Chevrolet was amazing. It was easy. It was great. I had cloth interior seats. I had the basic convenient package which I loved so much. I love the hill assist in the car. I loved the turn signal function. When you would leave your turn signal on it would tell you that you left it on. That was wonderful! I loved that it had serious satellite radio. I loved that it had heated seats. Front manual seats. It had automatic power windows and it had all around heated windows. So that little car had everything. Android Auto wasn't so perfect in it but you know Google isn't the best. Well, I still no matter what. Loved it even though there was a lot of bugs on Google's end but a lot of times though it would definitely not be good and I'd have to always unplug the cord just to reset Android Auto and it was annoying. But yes overall everything was perfect in that car and I will love it always with my whole heart and soul. It was my very first ever car. Like I just stated that I put my hard-earned money into. Undo some up now. Even more of it is that I love to having a backup camera and I loved having the noise of the backup camera when you so basically when you get close to an object it would beep. It made me feel so safe because of the fact that one day I came out of my driveway and my dad's car was parked a little close to the driveway but he had to park on the street because we had. I don't know something happened. Why he did that? Anyway, as it came out of the driveway I backed up a little too far and it beeped on me. But I did not hit my dad's car and I fell incredible in there. I was like wow! So I now always want to make sure with every car that I was looking at before I got the Subaru that it had that feature because like I just stated it really is truly the best. I really love that picture above the radio where it shows you if you are in your lane or following too close to a car or all that stuff it was just so perfect. So now I just have to get used to the Subaru like I had to get used to this on it cuz at first I never really liked it. To be honest I was really really upset of the space and the size I thought. Wow! What did I do? But it actually was super roomy and head space was amazing so I always look for that in new cars. But you know all cars are going to be different and such. But you know what? I'm so so happy that I ventured out because I was going to get another Chevrolet. I really put my heart in soul set on maybe the Blazer. But all in all, I seriously I'm happy that I'm learning another car company and it's just going to take time to learn and find out what works because there's one feature that I don't like about for Android Auto. But otherwise everything else is not bad. Right now until I get to love it. It's so yes, very very new. I just bought it New Year's Eve

I just purchased one last night from Carvana and reading this made me really happy ! Thanks for sharing your experience it made me feel more confident in my purchase. I’m autistic and a single father of two, so I make a lot of decisions on my own for us as a family and I looked into this car it had great review ratings and price. I will do my due diligence to stay on top of any potential engine problems. I will remember your story and stay on top of it 👍 Thanks for sharing and I’m sorry you lost a car that you loved. I know just how that feels. I lost my car last year after 2 years of on time payments… it happened due to an insane 48 rain we had last year in south Florida. Hundreds if not thousands of people near the airport lost their cars due to it being a bad flood zone. Me being one of them. But I was also going through a hard time (separation) in my life and I didn’t take good care of the car like keeping it clean or regularly checked up. That’s called depression 😅 Now I’m a different person and I made a promise to myself to take great care of this care, will keep it immaculate and hopefully it will take care of me back. Best wishes to you in life. Thanks for sharing. Maybe you’ll get back into a new model of Sonic one day ! P.s. my son loves Sonic the hedgehog so he’s so excited the car is called “Sonic” 😂 he wants blue seats.

How does the 2019 compare to previous years? It looks like it continues to be better than other small cars, but I'd like to know whether the base cushion on the driver's seat has become firmer and more supportive like the one in the Trax, whether the driving height adjustment with the power seat can work straight-up or limits you to up-and-forward at the same time, and whether road and wind noise has improved on a few years ago. Also curious if the 16 inch wheels at 35 psi pressure affect mileage and handling relative to the standard 15s at 38 psi.

I don't think GM officially discontinued it yet.. but sedan sales have slowed so maybe they will. If they do I dont think they will replace it with anything.

Hi there! I just discovered you on here since I just recently got this vehicle but is there by any chance you can tell me what that slit is between the steering wheel and screen? I’ve tried everything to figure that out and can’t find the answer!

👍. Curious what that small vertical opening is for above the start/stop button is for. Looks similar to the small opening left of the steering wheel on the Colorado’s. Purpose for either vehicle? Thanks.

A few cars over the years had something similar. I always figured it is for toll tickets, business card, credit card.. just a quick spot to hold something pretty thin

Great video. I just bought the 2020 sonic LS and was wondering how can i see my speed digitally because the menu only allows me to see oil life, tire pressure, and mpg. Not have fast im traveling. I think only on the LT & up can you see the speed digitally 😫
@DaveBsellsChevy
@DaveBsellsChevy 4 года назад
Congrats on your new Sonic!! Is there a Menu button on the turn signal stalk? If so, press that and it should switch you to a second set of pages.... Then use the arrows to cycle through the pages until you get to the speedometer.

@DaveBsellsChevy

Thanks for watching. The Sonic runs on regular 87 octane and has a 12 gallon tank so here in NJ it would cost about 40 bucks to fill it up

Pricing will all depend on the dealership you buy from and the GM incentives you qualify for... Better find yourself a 2020 Sonic because I hear there will no longer be a Sonic going forward.

I love mine. I have a hatchback, though. I just can't stand all of the gloss black on the interior. It gathers dust and smudges like no other surface I have ever seen... and it's positioned where my hands are the most (besides the steering wheel). The more I touch the gloss black surfaces, the more I want to clean them... which, in turn, results in more and more scratches.
@DaveBsellsChevy
