In this video I will show you how to do your first oil change on a 2019 Chevy LCF 4500 or Isuzu NPR HD. This model has the GM
6.0 gas engine and 6L90 transmission. I will also show you the secret to how you actually move the cab of the truck up to get to the
engine.

Looking at a 2005 NPR with this engine. Any words of wisdom? Thinking about starting a hauling/scrapping business but know zero about these trucks. Btw.....the truck Im looking at has 247xxx miles, really no service records but super clean and rides/drives very well.

I’m surprise it’s only 6 quarts my 2019 Silverado 1500 5.3L takes 8 quarts. I’m jealous of the engine access I’m 6 foot tall and I have a 2 inch lift on the truck and I cannot reach the dipstick without standing on something even before the lift it was difficult to reach I can’t believe how short the dipstick is on my truck. When I change the oil after it’s pretty much drained with the new filter on I pour about a quarter quart in and let it drain through I’m surprised to see how much dirty oil is still left in the engine that the new oil pushes through you could let that new oil drain all the way or as soon as it runs clear put the drain plug in saving most of the new oil you poured through, you may have done this before maybe not, try it next time if not that much dirty oil comes out maybe you don’t have to bother to do this but if more comes out then you think you may as well get all the old out when you do your own oil change Hope all is well in Georgia have a good one🇺🇸👍

john m bell i’m sure it’s because the engine in the Chevy LCF is a little closer to the ground so the pan has to be shorter which reduces the oil capacity.

The diesel is about 10k more and really not good for stop and go service work we do. The diesel particulate filter and SCR filters cost $1400 to change out and they WILL need that sooner if your driving alot in city traffic as opposed to the open road. I get about 8mpg.
