Nice review, my friend! Just got my first muscle car about 10 days ago.....a 2022 Challenger RT in the Smoke Show color, with the blacktop package features.... it's a dream come true! I can't stop smiling when I drive it! It's an amazing car and has changed driving from being a chore, point A to point B, to being hella fun!! 🙂 I'm so very impressed with the car!!
I love my 2018 R/T! Pretty much same interior features, but that moonroof makes all the difference! The cloth seats feel great and I’ll take that over leather where I’m at any day! Yeah I wanted a Hellcat, but wth imma do with all that daily driving? R/T is definitely the way to go if you just want to have fun!
Yes! The R/T is perfect if you just want some performance but don’t want a V6 engine. The V8 sound isn’t watered down at all and really that made it more enjoyable to drive!
Montclair California for sure! Get what best interests you! But for me, living in New Mexico and transitioning to Phoenix, Arizona, leather is definitely not for me!
R/T is a great car, especially for a daily driver. I was torn between a Mustang GT and a Challenger R/T. I was literally at the dealership about to purchase the Mustang GT when I thought twice and went with the R/T. No hate on the Mustang and I still like that car, but the Challenger has that "it" factor that doesn't wear off.
Terry P I hear ya. I had a 2011 GT myself loved that thing. But then life happened. Jumped into a Chalenger a few years later and completely fell in love!
It's believed in the 5.7 community that this car actually makes 400 HP and Dodge purposely underrated the engine for insurance purposes. That and they didn't want the little brother to be as close on paper with its big brother in the scat pack. I would have to agree with them as my '18 RT Plus feels great when accelerating
Absolutely! My RT Plus Shaker 6 speed Dynoed out around 395 HP/412 lb ft You can mod it to be insane.... The 5.7 actually takes to mods better than the 6.4
@@jelvonrozier7864 We're you asking me? Or the Channel Admin? My RT Plus Shaker 6 speed is bone stock, just a Pedal Commander and Mid - Muff Delete at this point, 2 years of ownership. I may Mod in the future, or trade up to a Hellcat, not Shure yet. Love it, live it, Mopar!
@Edward M Cars some people just like the way it looks on car ... just get over it do your car your way and let others do the same as simple as that... there is no reason to be a..hole here ... when I see comments like that, I want to put those things back on just to see how many people start crying about something that don't belong to them ... never gonna understand those kind of people ... live and let live ... and for the records not all R/T owners are dummies like that
1PL4ALLPLSH if you like it, then do it. Like I said, I don’t understand it. I don’t get how you feel I’m being an a hole about it. It’s my opinion, just like you have yours. Some people like big spoilers and others prefer to delete them.
The time honored definition of what constitutes a muscle car is having at least 1 horsepower for 13# of body weight. Any car is a muscle car if it meets that definition. If a car weighs 3700#, it needs 285 hp under the hood to qualify as a muscle car. If it weighs 4200#, it needs 323 hp. It's really quite simple.
I actually test drove a white 2022 yesterday. It was an RT Plus, Automatic with no sun roof. Wow, in under 5 miles I was in heat for it! Great looks, sound , power, acceleration, and comfort. I WIILL have one before the end of this Summer of 2023.
I'd agree with the size comment - I was a bit intimidated by how big it is in real life the first time I drove one. It looks normal sized in pictures because it's in proportion, but everything is just massive. You get used to it though, pretty fast. 😊
I have a base R/T and the only complaint I had was the sound system. Crutchfield has a set of Kicker brand speakers for about $325 and they were worth every penny. More volume and better fidelity
It's ok. The highs are strained and to roll off above 14k. The bass is OK if you're going slow but once the road noise happens you're going to wish for a sub.
I know I'm a lil late haha but I appreciate this seriously in depth look at everything, I'm currently trying to decide between the challenger and mustang. And I prefer the challenger by far hellcat is my dream haha but at this stage the mustang offers more. So I'm trying to look at every lil thing I can, its much appreciated tyvm.
Nice to see that a video done on the RT with the auto trans has a tester that actually knows and states the ACTUAL engine output of 372/400, NOT 375/410. Just say'n.
All that Challenger Style and Engine but Cloth Seats -Ugh!!! Spend the extra money and get the Nappa Leather Seats. That's where you spend most of your time -Inside the car
I'd say leather by default, but the houndstooth cloth in the Challenger is not bad at all. It's actually kinda nice for cloth seats. If the car had other options I wanted but only with houndstooth, I would have went with that.
What sport mode does is open the exhaust valves wider and holds gears longer to produce peak horsepower. That's why you get the louder exhaust note and the car feels more aggressive. The R/T is fast and will be PLENTY enough car. The 392 is even faster, and will be more than enough car for the road.
I never owned either one long term but I’m sure they have their pros and cons. I would check on the forums and see what common issues each one has and decide from there.
Great video man. Love your attentional to detail. You military? Lol. Only concern is your voice is hard to understand as it seems you’re mumbling most of the time.
Just don't like the colors the dealers in my area stock. Mostly white and black or maybe silver. Boring. I wanted plum crazy and there were none in a 500 mile radius and the dealers don't want to help if it isn't on the lot, so I passed and lost interest.
I agree. Plum crazy is a color I don’t see around a lot. I bet it’s a special order color which you can’t even do right now until the factories re-open.
@@eddiemcars They discontinued plum crazy. It's not so much a special order as dealers can order whatever they like. They just choose the cheaper colors. PCP was $70 extra. So what. Now they have hellraisin purple, but it's a red shift purple, where as plum crazy was a blue shift purple. I like plum crazy better.
unless i was very rich, i wouldnt buy a charger, period,i love all mopars only, but i might buy a challenger, but likely would wait for new dodge ,,,cuda..maybe gonna be way lighter,an better than heavy dodges, sure, they got the power to cover it,an i totally hate mustangs an camaros and imports,am strictly...mopar or no car
The last of the v8 engines a full size sedan Cadillac you can not get a v8 anymore.or automatic on the colum.nice challenger rt.great for the United states.
You can get the Hemi v-8 in a Chrysler 300 or a Dodge Charger optioned out in a fancy interior I doubt any rational person would miss a full size Caddy v-8 going to either of those two 4 door sedans they are on a longer wheelbase than the sportier Challenger. Plus the Northstar v-8 was a crap engine compared to the Hemi.
