Ah Bruce...this is the bike! No tours no off-road just dirty great fun zipping through the lanes or slipping through traffic. Who cares if it’s only got enough range to ride from pub to pub?! Not me. I’ll keep my Africa Twin for day to day and long rides and dream about having this sexy little Italian minx to grab by the ponytail...I mean bars, for a quick romp on the weekend! Great video, can’t wait to see the next ones! Peace!
I hadn’t much considered a hypermotard, especially at my age, but holy moley! Your video really has me jacked to jump on one of these beasts. Thank you!
I don’t know how old you are but I’m 70 and I’m going to test ride one next week and if I can cope with what looks like a very uncomfortable seat, I will be buying one!
I REALLY like the look of those Hypermotards. Would love to have a crack. If it's half as much fun as the 1100cc Ducati Scrambler was, I can imagine you had a LOT of fun in the 'off camera' sections of this review!! :D Glad to hear that there's potentially an end in sight.
You can’t go wrong with modern Sports Touring tyres like the Dunlop Roadsmart 4 or Michelin Road 6. Anyone that says they’re not ‘sticky’ enough for them is either full of it, or should be getting paid to ride 🤷♂️👍
Hey Bruce, I've caught up with most of your content. I've got to say I really like your evolution of style from your RTW trip, and I hope you get well sorted soon. That Duc is sweet! Cheers!
How many miles/months should I make on a "non 125" before I can get one of these? Keeping in mind I am sensible and keep to speed limits - I ride for pleasure not for speed. But my god it's a gorgeous bike! Cool vid by the way, you got a new sub :D
Did the same yesterday mate. 'Curvy roads' on the sat nav, leave Rye and end up 2.5 hours later in Orpington with a big grin on my face. With I'd had the Ducati instead of the GS though. Loved the video, as usual.
Nice to see you sat on it to fill up, I stopped doing as got so many comments on this 😂😂 perhaps I should start again then I may just make my MT10SP get a few more mile with a proper top up 👍 love that Bike
I’ve heard all the comment before bud - “it’s dangerous to sit on the bike when filling it up”, “what if you spill fuel on the engine and it catches fire”..... well if the tank catches fire it’s really not going to matter if I’m sat on the bike or stood next to it, we’re both going up aren’t we!! 🤣👍
Remember Bruce we never get lost it's always an adventure when we take a turning we never done before. Nice to see you in Keston, always some back routes which are more fun leading into Kent 😀
Cheers Graham, yeah there are so many little winding roads I’ve never tried before, it’s good fun to just hit the road and play the left turn right turn game sometimes! 👍
Great looking bike and sounds nice standard can just imagine the growl from a full system. By the sounds of it the riding is similar to my new stead, it will do the motorways quite happily especially speedwise but really come alive in the corners and country roads. I'm also a fan of being "over the front" of the bike. BTW think a new counter could be started for vids... How many different accents am sure I counted 4 in this one. Sweet work as usual Bruce. Keep it up. Slange!
Great review Bruce, it's a cool bike, very hard to ride in sensible mode!. Can I ask how you have chin mounted the GoPro to your Arai...I have the same lid and can't see how.....? Cheers, Steve
@@teapotone well, zero out of ten for observation for me!...I've tried the Shoei, it's a great lid but the fit of the Arai suits me well and it's a super comfortable helmet to wear, a great piece of kit I think. Just can't see how to chin mount the GoPro because of the chin vents. Cheers Bruce, hopefully see you round the Whiteways/Loomies neck of the woods sometime! Steve
I actually mount on the side of the lid, near the front, then use a weird concoction of links to position the GoPro just to the side of the chin. Then I’ve got a setup that allows me to utilise the audio adaptor and plug an external mic in. I’ll explain it in the forthcoming vid 👍
Great vid Bruce 👍 definitely a contender for the "If I could own a second bike" discussion. Rode the older version and agree it is an ASBO on two wheels!! Sounds even better just by putting an end can on! 👍
Perfect round the world bike. Look great with a topbox on the back.. And everyone is entitled to hold an opinion. Isn't that what discretion is all about? Happy future travels.
I'm gonna have to try get a test ride on one of these things when I take mind for service next it's a triumph and Ducati dealer so 🤞 they'll let me take one for a morning. Hope you get everything else that's going on sorted soon aswell Bruce 👍
I think you quite like it then? One thing that I would be worried about is the radiator at the bottom of the engine in line with all the crap from the front wheel Great first ride Mr Teapot
Great review of lovely bit of Italian awesomeness. My 2008 1100s Hyper was akin to a sensitive Latin girl friend, treat her right and she was a dream, get it wrong and she would kick you in the nuts. Also, just like aforesaid girlfriend, a bit high maintenance. I notice a few of you guys (Chops/TMF etc) wearing the 'Adventure' style peaked lids, don't they add to some of the buffeting issues experienced on these nakeds?
Good first ride review Bruce. Not for me this one. I love the Suzuki GSX-R 750 so much so just bought my forth one.Since I picked it up it has not stoped bloody raining.
Then it’s not the base model though is it, if it’s an extra? The quick shifter and blipped would transform the basic model for me, it’s still a hoot to ride but I’d love to try the SP with all the toys 👍
@@teapotone Well, I mean you still don't get the nicer paint scheme, suspension, and lighter wheels of the SP if all you're doing is getting this model with just the quick shifter added.
Sadly this was around the time I was ordered to stop all online activity by my old job, so there isn’t another vid I’m afraid. If I ever get a chance to ride one again I’ll do more vids for sure 👍
Did you end up keeping it for 2 weeks then mate? Just wanted to know your thoughts on practicality. I want something to have a laugh on but could possibly do some small British tours. Also something to look back at when at petrol stations haha! That’s a must
Aye I had it for the full 2 weeks - it is fantastic fun, it really is. If I could afford to have a toy then it would be right up there for sure. No use for prolonged motorway useage, but for the twisties it is just awesome 👍
+Mark Reynolds I think this was the last vid I did before my old work ordered me to stop all activity on social media, so I didn’t film anymore on it sadly
Thats better liked this video. just watched your latest one on electric bikes never liked it, been watching all your older stuff and its good and went oh no hes changed ........but this recent one is the usual stuff, so will keep watching 👍
Looks like a great bike to use on the roads where I live together with the Kurviger app to get the greatest twistiness en route. Just checked the prices here. The basic model is 529,000 baht ( £14,000 at today's rates) and 579,000 baht for the SP (£15,260) Eek!
Did you get one in Thailand ? I’m moving back soon and between this and an mt10………I test drove one in Kent and loved it….think it will be great around prachuap kiri khan area
@@brettrichards8115 Yes I bought it here from a friend in Chiang Mai. In fact we did a swap, my Versys 300 + cash for the MT07. I haven't seen a single MT10 over here, the MT07 is plenty enough for the roads over here.
Nice video Bruce. My nephew has got a second hand one and it has all the carbon pieces and like you said go on the mountain or back roads and you will never come back home 😆😆
Yet? Looking forward to your plans. Sounds like a move to the private security sector...where trolls and internal affairs won’t bother your (and ours) fun..
I was really tempted by the hyperstrada, but the insurance was so high, so got myself a multistrada instead. And same engine. Come join for a ride and compare the two?! Got some great roads around the Cotswolds.
@@teapotone Tell me about it, I have to go from junction 10 up to 2 everyday and think it's been partially closed almost every day this week!!! Plus with the narrow lanes filtering isn't always possible 😭
Jan ah ok, plenty of other vids out there showing that if that’s what you’re in to. My style is using jump cuts and different camera angles, so if it’s not for you, then no dramas 👍
I realise I am in a very small minority, but I am growing weary of endless "bike reviews". That seems to be all I am seeing on your channel and three or four others. Endless bike reviews, telling me how great European bikes are. Y'all are starting to sound like American media.
@@teapotone it maybe different as I'm in Australia but there is a noticeable difference to the performance, it was the first thing the dealership told me as well. I didn't listen at first as I'm obviously an idiot 😁 but they were right.
