Hello guys! Welcome back to Car Obsession, and welcome to another walkaround. This time you join with the new Ford Focus Vignale, the premium version of Ford's popular family car.
Vignale, in case you're wondering, is all about offering a more premium and luxurious buying/owning experience, offering more leather, more quality checks and as well as a Relationship Manager.
In this video I take around the outside and inside of the car, talk through the specification and also offer my initial thoughts. The model seen here is fitted with the 1.5 litre EcoBoost petrol engine, which offers 182p, with 240Nm (177 lb ft) of torque. It's mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox, but an 8-speed automatic is available if you prefer.

I just figured out the the Vignale line in the U.K. is the equivalent of the Lincoln car line of Ford here in the States. Check out the Lincoln website. You'll probably see some of the luxury features you find in the Vignale and the exclusive customer service you mentioned. Unfortunately, none of the Lincoln cars offer a manual transmission, so I have zero interest in them. But they sure are stylish and fancy inside and out. and they come with very powerful, smooth engines.

Interesting, I often wondered what sets these apart from the cooking versions! If you were ordering this car for yourself which colour and choice of Alloy wheels would you go for?

Hi Henry, thanks for watching. In regard to colour, I reckon this would look good in white or black; I know those are quite boring colours, but I think they will look more classy than the Dark Mulberry. In regard to wheels, I'm happy with that design, but I would prefer them either in anthracite, or black.

I have to say I think this is where Ford's going wrong right now. Who in their right mind would have this over a Mercedes A class or any of the other premium hatches. No amount of added leather and stuff will make it premium. Ford should stick to value cars at reasonable prices, no wonder they aren't doing well at the moment. They're Asda not Waitrose. On lease they're even worse value. There really is no competition for the new A classes interior at that price, and sales are showing that. The A class is now outselling the Focus in Europe. Maybe just calm it with the prices Ford, otherwise Yr gonna have to keep discounting and that won't pay the bills.

The wheels are too big, what's luxurious about low profile tyres and a crashy shit ride.

Hi Alexander, thanks for watching. Sorry for the late response, I wasn't notified of this comment. I wouldn't say the ride is crashy, but I must admit, it is busy at lower speeds. Thankfully it becomes smoother at speed, but I was surprised by the low speed firmness.

@@CarObsession I can imagine. Everyone I know is fed up of low profile tyres and big wheels, anything bigger than 16" on a car like this is form over function IMHO.

@@alexanderstefanov6474 17" can be fine depending on the car, and given the choice, that's what I'd probably have for this particular car.
