That’s a big reason why the GT500’s have hood latches now. I’ve taken my GT350 up to those speeds several times and never had an issue though. The aluminum hood just likes to flex under the high wind
@@terrymitchell4579 chances are your hood isn’t going to fly off. It’s just to help with hood flex if anything. If you had a carbon or fiberglass hood, it probably wouldn’t flex nearly as much if at all anyway. If you plan on going 160+ pretty regularly, I’d consider it, but I’ve taken my GT and GT350 up to those speeds a few times and never had to worry
Nice vid bro, but I’m gonna be honest. A TT 5.0 needs to be racing tuned McLarens, TT R8’s, etc. m5 is a beast but boosting that 5.0 makes it mental. Even if the M5 would’ve somehow won, just turn the boost up on the 5.0 and it’s buses, so the M5 isn’t even close in comparison
@@executiveinvestments it took a little bit for the turbos to spool... But once they did the 5.0 RAN away from the M5, are you slow? 😂 The mustang literally decimated the M5, walking away like that on the top end is crazy 💀
@@executiveinvestments bro what the money he spent on the twin turbo kit is still way cheaper then buying a 100k m5 comp. i think he’s the winner in my book
Not surprised by the outcome whatsoever. Seeing this makes me realize the downside of turbo lag. A Whipple 10R80 making 800+ whp would’ve been out in front from the start
@@allan775 My Whipple car had no problems hooking at 800whp with a ET Street SS and basic suspension mods. The biggest advantage of turbos over blowers is boost by gear. You can have 800whp on the hit then be at 1100-1200 whp by the end of the run.
@@volkssturm9694 The recent gtr was sick man. Absolutely sick bro. But that stang we just saw will run with that gtr. And the other car that was sick was that 95 Civic
People comparing a 2 door pony car and a luxury sport sedan dollar for dollar are dumb. Two feats of automotive engineering, two great platforms for different things. The coyote will be faster dollar for dollar, the M5 will be comfier and more practical. Enjoy the damn race and stop fanboying
we installed slightly bigger turbos and injectors: coolers on a M5 CP last year and made 730 to the crank , both these cars lose about 20% from crank to the diff so the Ford is around 1000hp and moves out . Trust me ,our M5 hit 209 mph on the mile..
@@ADJUDICATOR369 oh you're speaking for him in regards to whether or not he's upset? Also, your reply "idk haha" tells me you're probably 23 driving a 10-year-old 3 series.
@@volkssturm9694 Well I mean that isn’t even a fair comparison. That GTR has like 1300-1400 whp if I’m not mistaken. Edit: I know you weren’t comparing them but still, you mentioned it.
You gotta let the 5.0 driver his hood is lifting as his speed increases. Notice how the gap between the hood and fender gets larger as the race goes on. Give homeboy a head ups AG. Keep safe
@@queue1176 I am sure I have watched hundreds of Mustangs race on YT and this is the only Mustang of any year I have seen do that. It could be a rebuilt title car. South Florida has a huge supply of rebuilt title cars. I remember the Craigslist days it seemed like every other car in the Miami, or its surrounding areas, was a rebuilt title car.
@@racequad9 I've seen this in a couple of the earlier Street Science TX videos where plenty of people have commented on it being a potential build quality issue. The cars in those videos were making 1,000+whp and reaching high speeds. I haven't seen this happen with the lower powered Mustangs.
@@Zokoych You understand that the Mustang is a lesser quality item and its only good for 1 thing which is going in a straight line, which it can't even do from a standing start without slicks/prepped surface? Put them on a track and see what happens, hell the M5 would win while carrying his whole family hahahah.
@@snowman2834 whaaaat? yeah i get it you can like a more “mature” car but not to be impressed by a mustangs performance is just ignorant lol kinda sound like a hater
It’s a no brainer… with just downpipes and a tune compared to the mustang needing a whole turbo kit lol it’s obvious the mustang got the race. Now let’s put a turbo kit on the m5 and see the outcome drastically change💀💀
10 PSI is less WHP than that for sure 🧢. 16 PSI puts him at the upper 800 lower 900 WHP. It would not even be a race. BMW fanboys cant accept that Fully built Mustangs are just at another level. That mustang owner has to lower the psi to make it somewhat fair lol
I love it when folks pick one car or another to take a stand on. They're both good in their respected platforms (luxury family sedan and cheap sports car). I wish the stang fanboys would stop already, it makes me think you have no clue to what driveline is even in the GT. 🤦♂️🤣😂🤣 Everyone with a brain knows a DOHC V8 is better on boost than a stock rotating assembly cam in block design.
i have a question what do you mean by he has to go on 3.15 gears 🤔 . i’m thinking into boosting my mustang with 64/64 hellion turbo charger kit and i’m learning more about boost and how to make your car go faster
Sure, love the M5 for luxury and tooling around town, but look at the price, I mean geez. As I’ve mentioned before bang for the buck you just can’t beat that 5.0 TwinTurbo GT. Not to mention that I think it looks sick! 👍
That stang dont make no where near 800-900. Maybe touching 800 but it definitely doesnt pull like one or when he raced that hell cat. I raced a hellcat same mods but im paxton on 3.33 pulley E and manual but i beat him and so many similar setups do too 😂😂 and that small ass tire
@@joem1382 3.15’s are the better choice with boost because you’ll stay in 6th gear at the end of 1/4 mile, the higher gears in the 10r80 are pretty weak. With the 3.55s each gear will “run out quicker and the trans will shift to the higher gear quicker.
