This video is me talking about four things I've learned about this bike after 4, 000 miles. Layback License Plate: www.amazon.com... Saddlebag Insert Bags: www.harley-dav... Windshield Bag: www.harley-dav...
Just purchased 2020 Heritage 2 weeks ago. Vivid Black 114. Love it. Already have 350 miles on it ...taking it easy on the 500 mile break in period...HARLEY -DAVIDSON ❤🇺🇸
I test rode the ‘19 Heritage not too long ago and it was by far the best bike I’ve ridden so far. You made one HELL of a good choice! I’m glad you’re putting the miles on. That trip sounded like it was life changing! Having those transformative experiences marks the measure of your personal success in life. Nothing makes me happier than seeing good hearted folks do what they love. Keep on riding buddy! Ride safe!
Orvis128 wow, man, thank you so much for that! Yeah, of the bikes I rode and had been looking at, it rose right to the top-thanks again for the kind words and the sub!
I'm 6' with 34" inseam and the stock seat did not work for me at all. I bought the H-D Tallboy. Fits me much better, but again after about 300 miles I start to get a little twitchy and need to take more frequent stops. 5 minute break and I'm ready to go again. That color scheme you have never gets old. I love it.
That's great that your happy with the purchase . There is no better way to become one with your ride than to take a trip on it. That's what I call living with your motorcycle.. Enjoy n ride safe.
Just purchased a 2019 recently. I take delivery on it next week. Not to boast, but I actually did a cross country once where I went coast to coast from Virginia to California and back in 8 days, and the bike was parked in Vegas for 3 days. My crazy youth and on a Road Glide Ultra back then, 2013.
Hi there. great video, a lot of People have complained about the (side stand) (kick stand) they all seem weak. my Heritage included. it's like the Motorcycle's going to fall over. when you deploy the stand. shame HD hasn't found a Solution to this Problem.
@@rainman5587 Hey thnks for sharing that...very interesting history, and I learned something....still not sure i can call it that, but at least i know it is correct. Thanks again!
H-D has been this way on kick stands forever...you must be very new to biking...get used to it...and buy a plate to put the stand on for dirt conditions...so it doesnt sink in the dirt...only 10.00..at H-D...or make your own..I fid for 4.00
I am glad to see you are enjoying the Heritage. I love my Heritage, haven't been riding as much as I would like so far this season, but when I do it is next to impossible to wipe the grin off my face. I agree about the saddle bags, they carry a lot. I should break down and get a windscreen bag, I am starting to see the use for one. I am completely in the minority on this, but I like the vertical license plate. I want to get a better more stylish frame, but I actually like it is vertical. Excellent video and stay safe out there!
Thank you so much, buddy! It is a great bike, and I just love riding it, even if it's just a quick ride to the store or quick loop around town. The vertical license plate isn't terrible, but my buddy did the laydown on his road glide, and i really liked it. Plus, i kept catching my leg on the old one when I would swing a leg over. Anyway, the windshield bag is probably the handiest addition I've done. 😎👍 Thanks again!
Great bike! I rode one in 2018 during the HD 115 year anniversary festival. Gotta say one thing: COOL EFFIN vest!!! It so damn cool lookin’. Real SOA style 👍
There is no end to customizing a bike LoL, just all about what you want and how much you are willing to spend, and I've also learned that when you are going for a long road trip is that you really don't need to take much, just take more money and you will be fine, Thanks for sharing ✌️ N ❤️brother
I just turned 50, and I followed in my fathers and grandfathers footsteps and purchased a 2019 114 Heritage Classic, Black on Black. I love it, truly amazing bike! 1 week in and nearing 600 miles of practice and ride time. Ill get my 1000 mile tuneup in the next few weeks. Any advice or suggestion for motor longevity? Im using Clear fuel (pricey) and keeping it clean! Thanks!
Hey, man....CONGRATS on a wonderful bike! Love that black on black--the dealer where i purchased mine had this wicked red, and I grabbed it because I had only seen it in the brown and billiard blue, but I have owned several black ones too. Honestly, I would say switch to a synthetic oil--my mechanic uses AMSOIl, and do those services when the manual suggests. I just had my 5K service done Friday, and the bike is running smooth and strong. Thanks so much for watching my video and commenting. I appreciate you supporting my channel. Please subscribe if you haven't already---thank you! 😎😎
That 114 has some get up. Interested to know what other bikes you considered or rode JP and how they compare to the Heritage Classic. Great bike by the way.
Sure man, I have ridden a Sportster, a Fat Bob, a Fat Boy, the V-Rod, and a Road King, I think. What sold me on this one was: cruise control, factory saddlebags, and the removable windshield. I liked the looks and the feel when I rode one and the fact it was lighter than the big baggers. Oh and I liked it came with the 114, though other bikes have that too. I decided at my age, there are three things I needed, and the Heritage had all three. I have a feeling it won't be my last Harley...thanks for watching and commenting, buddy!
I agree with everything JP said. I tried about 6 bikes, ranging from the Sportster to the big full models. For me, I wanted a windshield , foot boards and saddlebags. Everything felt fantastic; weight, balance, get-up and go. I found it an all around solid vehicle. The ONE thing I felt for thought... was a slightly bigger fuel tank. I would have liked a 6-7 gallon tank. The MP-tank for me seems to be about 225-240 range with supreme and clear fuel. hope that helps. Thanks
New sub here. I am looking at the 2019 chromed out version of the Heritage as my next bike. Like the bars but I would want the 1.25" fatties that HD sells. That and white walls to dress it off.
Hello and thank you! I appreciate you subbing to my channel. The 2020 is all chromed out, so that is an option for you. I like the whitewall look, but I havem't made up my mind. Thanks again and good luck with getting yourself one in chrome! Great bikes!
300 miles a day is sufficient. Riders need to take care of their health by spending time walking, too. Then, more years to ride. (FYI: regardless of my daily miles, even when touring, I get in 10,000 steps, or 5 miles a day).
I just purchased one. And been looking for photos or something with the dog bowl removed, then watch this video and found what it looks like thanks. And good video
I love the Heritage I have the 2018 black one I got the hammock seat from Harley love it very comfortable where did you get licence plate gram from I like that keep up the great videos ride safe
What do you use for a microphone? Sometimes you are very easy to hear and others very difficult, like when you were walking around the bike pointing things out.
FYI..almost all factory seats from Harley....stink..after 150 miles...to save your butt...go to Walmart..buy a Gel pad in the pharmacy section for 30.00...or order one in ...it is fantastic for 500 mile rides...strap it down on top of your seat and ride all day...or go buy a gel pad seat for $600.00...THAT IS THE CHEAP ONE TOO......FYI PEOPLE...FYI...WALMART...SAVES YER ASS...LOL
Thanks for the video! Have a heritage as well. Curious did you remove the dog bowl on the front tire or did you have someone remove it for you. I want the taken off as well. Talk to my H-D about it they were like have it removed when you get a new set of tires. It sounded expensive
Hey bud....congrats on that new Heritage. I had my independent mechanic take it off at the 1k service. I prefer it without, personally. Great bike for sure!
That’s a really good video, beautiful bike. I’m thinking about getting one for longer trips. I think it’s the only softtail frame HD puts on its “touring” category. Do you find it easy to maneuver or at least not sluggish in corners?
You’re not going to like this, Randell, but I just traded the heritage for new Honda Gold Wing. It was a fun bike, but I test rode a wing and had to have one. The heritage was great, but I wanted more of a touring bike.
Oh, yes, it does. I didn't mention it in this video but it does, and I use that feature quite often. I like those softail slim's too. Damn, wish I was rich! 🤘😜🤘😜
I like that helmet. It's got a nice, thin profile. A lot of them have that Great Gazoo look. Who makes it? I really like the Heritage. I think it's HDs best handling bike. Almost went that route, but the spokes make me a little nervous when carting the wife out thru BFE, so I ended up with a Road King. I found it was a lot more top heavy, but I got used to it pretty quick. The only time it's a real pain is backing it out of the garage.
Right on, man...thanks for watching and commenting, and congrats on that Road King. Yeah, I have thought about getting mag type wheels instead of the spokes, but so far so good! Thanks again!
Hi there--oh heck yeah, it will haul you and the missus around fine, but I have to admit, I traded it for a newer Gold Wing--the touring model is made for two up riding...I went with the bachelor model myself...finest bike I have ever ridden!
I assume you have or were going to put aftermarket pipes on when the warranty expires? I ask cause a tuner is not needed at all for just slip ons and the stock breather... but obviously if you put pipe on later you need to
I plan to leave it the way it is...love the V&H slip-ons, and the SE tuner makes a nice difference with the hi-flow breather. Anyway, she has a stage 1 & 2, and she goes! Thanks bud!
Hello and thank you-honestly I’m not sure…I bought the helmet at a Harley dealership in Montana…I think Harley used the HJC and then puts their logo on it, but you may want to check them out at your Local dealer. Thanks again!
That is an old setup that wasn't very good. I now use a Shoei with a Go Pro 7 and an omni multi-directional mic. Thanks for watching and commenting! I hope you'll check out some of my other vids and let me know what you think.
Good call...I have a few different mic setups I use...I was trying a different style video given it was too hot to use my motovlogging helmet. Anyway, thanks for taking the time to watch and comment. I appreciate your time and suggestion.
I owned the bike for 14 months and never experienced any leaks. I was quite satisfied with the saddlebags and the bike, until I test rode a Gold Wing---if you like what you ride, don't ride a GW! 👍 Hahaha!
@@petethepunisher3015 yeah, I bet you love that Rgs rolling large on long trips….my gold wing is heavy too, but once she gets going-forget about it! Thanks Pete!
I do love you Brother for traveling on a Harley Davidson motorcycle! Your motorcycle is fucking beautiful! 300 miles at 260 lbs needs completely air seating! Literally, air. Those seats that are on your bike, are the most comfortable Harley makes! See you on the trail! I should show you my Fatboy luggage when I travel. You wouldn't believe it! Start working out and watch your diet! I want you to be around into old age so we can ride together! Com'on, YOU CAN DO IT! I love you Brother, so give yourself permission to love yourself! See you out there!
Absolutely easy to flat foot that Heritage. I have ridden Glides, and I have to say the lighter more nimble Heritage is much easier to manage and she goes, but, yeah, I get why the glides are popular. I like them too!.
I'm 5' 8" w/ 28" inseam. I have a '15 Street Glide. I can't fully flat foot both feet. I have trimmed seat foam to narrow the nose to help it. I have lowered it in the past w/ highly rated shocks; rode like crap. Got rid of them. I have rode a 2020 Hertiage 114. ABSOLUTELY loved it. Flat foot no problem and the weight made it much more comfortable to handle. I've considered getting rid of my Glide for a Heritage.
If you are going to talk about the bike, talk about the bike. If you want to ride the bike, go ride the bike but don’t try to talk about the bike while you are riding it!!! Come on man. We are getting every third word with all the wind noise. You remind me of the news people who go out and stand in a downpour, during a thunderstorm, just to tell me it’s raining...duh!
