Here on TheTopher, I'm known for putting a camera on my face and driving cars. Whether it's about any of my personal cars or reviews on weekly press vehicles, the goal is to give you an idea of what a certain car is like to drive or live with. Most of my videos are filmed in POV, with my clothes on, and (for like the 5th time) with in-ear binaural audio. Which, if I haven't made it clear yet, is why you should wear headphones. Because of the whole "woah" factor. It's there, trust me. Try it, it's pretty nuts. Or don't. As long as you whitelist me on your adblocker I'm okay with whatever you do or don't do with regards to headphone usage. That is all. Oh and I guess you should also probably subscribe. Why are you still reading this, you should be watching the video. With headphones! Hah, had to sneak that in there one more time. Later!

You can set up the gauges so you can always see the tachometer. Go into the main head unit and go to settings>vehicle>meter setup>tachometer>on and then save your settings. You’ll now have the tach on all the time. Happy shifting!

@darink300zx
@darink300zx 5 лет назад
I think his point, and I agree with him, is that the gauge that you don’t change and that is there at all times should be the tach, not the speedo. Basically, IMO, the left gauge would never be changed and the information screens you can choose from are useless because it’ll always be on the tach. If it were reversed, the speed can be displayed as a number in the other info screens and doesn’t require a gauge. I, mean, come on it’s a manual shift car, the tach should be the actual gauge that doesn’t change.

With sales dropping double-digits and the elimination of 2nd shift assembling Accords you should be able to get one on the cheap. Just that theyll continue to sink like a rock in value. Our(Edmund's)2018 Honda Accord EX-L stickered for $30,865, including destination. Over the course of a year, we added 13,302 miles to our odometer. In this condition, the Edmunds TMV Calculator valued the Accord at $23,815 based on a private-party sale. That works out to 22.8% depreciation, which is slightly worse than the fleet average of 22% average. The depreciation level is even worse when you consider that the majority of our cars pass the 20,000-mile mark. Edmund's longterm Accord
@10ee
@10ee 5 лет назад
@@normt5463 I can vouch for the second shift being eliminated up here in Canada too. I didn't care, I leased a 6-speed manual and am taking delivery on Tuesday. I got a good enough deal (nearly 2K off list) to not worry too much about depreciation, and if it's horrible at the end of the lease, I hand the keys back and walk away.

I love the Accord, bought a 1.5 sport. One thing I don’t like is how the trim levels work for the sport. The 1.5 isn’t as luxurious unless you shell out for the 2.0. 1.5 doesn’t come with heated seats and it’s not even an option. So basically if you want a manual with heated seats from Honda you HAVE to get a 2.0. Future buyers, keep that in mind

The Mazda6 2.5T has the same 1/4 mile trap speed of 93.4 mph as the Accord 2.0T 10-speed. But the Malibu 2.0T has a higher trap speed than Accord 2.0T and is 0.4 faster around figure eight test and leads this field. "...the quarter mile in 14.3 seconds at 99.4 mph." "The 2017 Malibu lapped the figure eight in 26.3 seconds at 0.70 g lateral average and pulled 0.88 g around the skidpad." The Malibu 2.0T blows the Mazda6 2.5T away in highway fuel economy with 37 mpg. Motor Trend
@drwisdom1
@drwisdom1 5 лет назад
@@normt5463 Why care about marginal differences in "trap speed" with mid-level sedans? Buy a fast car if that is important to you (Teslas get to 60 in less than 4 seconds, less than 3 for the S). What I am looking for in a vehicle is longevity and fun. I bought one of my cars in 1992. Hondas and Toyotas are known to last while the reverse is true with the other makes. I always get manual transmissions which are a hoot and never fail. Automatic transmissions are like marriage without consummation, then they divorce you by breaking. The Honda wins! (I have never bought a Honda)

This review pretty much sold me on the car. Love my 2.OT Manual! For everyone wondering about the Audio, YES it lacks low end but it's not like there isn't any bass either. I keep saying I'm going to get a sub but it hasn't been awful enough for me to pull the trigger on it. Also, you CAN see the tachometer all the time. You just have to go into Meter Setup under Settings > Vehicle. I have set it up and always have tach visible even when using things like the Navigation or Driver Assistance display.

Test drove the v6 coupe with a stick years ago. Very much impressed by it. Only didn't care about the coupe format: the door is too long and opens too wide. Now there is the sedan. Will test drive one tomorrow.

Like he said in the video. The v6 6mt had a slightly better transmission and a bullet proof engine. The 2.0T has yet to prove itself really tho so who knows. But this car is awesome and better suited for the average driver than the old coupe

I had the great privilege of owning a 2019 Honda Accord Sport 2.0t in a manual for a full month. It was a great car just wasn’t for me. The stereo was very subpar, sounds like a Walmart speaker that they threw in the car. A digital NUMERICAL speed was not available in MPH only KM per hour in the center of the speedometer.! Ended up trading it in for a 2018 Volkswagen Golf R. Love my car now! To the person that now owns the accord, treat her right for me!

I honestly haven't watched the night drive you posted yet so I apologize if you already addressed it there for whatever reason, but what type of fuel economy did you average with the car during your time with it (during what I assume was a lot of spirited driving)? There is a way to have the Tach up at all times... On the infotainment screen, go to Settings->Vehicle->Guage Setup and you should see something about a tachometer, set it to always on... So you can have the tachometer displayed and a second screen inside the tach for whatever you need

Great review! Looks like you have some track experience or racing experience with road racing. Watching your inputs and very smooth and knowledge of heel to toe. I just brought one and loving it! I have been road racing a 350Z since 2003 to 2015. So much similarities of the 350z handling and power makes it fun to drive. I sold my dually truck and brought this since I no long race, so I did not notice the turning radius of the Honda when compared to my truck. This car is so much fun it is making me feel like getting back to racing or just track days. Great job on both reviews of this car!

I hear the 1.5t fills the oil pan with fuel when routinely driven short distances in cooler climates where engine operating temperature is not reached. Yet, Honda performance guys tell me they prefer the 1.5t to the 2.0t because it is more reliable when modified. I just purchased a 2019 Accord Sport 1.5t (CVT) with 192 HP and it is plenty quick enough for me. The best car I ever owned was a 1986 Honda Accord 5-speed manual with pop-up headlights.
