2019 Honda CB300R - Too little, too late? : PowerDrift

First time we had caught up with CB300R at 2017 EICMA, we had asked you to hit the pinned comment with a thumbs-up if you wanted to see the bike here. And 600 Likes later, it has finally happened! This time, why don’t you send Honda a message if you want CB300R to be built locally and become more affordable with another Like and Comment!

People before : Honda doesn't launch their international bikes here and gives only Activa. Honda launches the exact international variant for a premium People now : it's over priced no one Will buy it. Smh.🤦🏼‍♂️ See this is exactly why Honda launches only Activa.

It maybe too late, but a Honda engine and a Honda comfort and this neo-retro design. I'd prefer this over KTM's sharp design, raw power and track focused seating and posture.

it is HONDA, the quality and refinement will be always top-notch when compare to their competitors ! Performance wise in simple Duke n Dominor is temporary and HONDA is permanent ! Just have words with CBR 250R owner you guys will rarely finds unsatisfied customers! That's Honda for You !

Honda means class, reliability and peace of mind. If u find budget problem then go for cheap quality KTM or other bikes. Honda is not everyone's cup of tea.

I did test drive Honda CB300R and Dominar and Duke 390 on the same day... Duke had power but CB300R had a superb engine refinement and smooth gear shifts and agility in city traffic and power wise also it is very good even though not like Duke 390...on the other hand, Dominar 400 can't even come near CB300R....leave alone the comparison...after driving Honda, Dominar felt like an average bike for me.... I straight away booked CB300R

Honda’s reliability is unmatched compared to any motorcycle manufacturer in the world CB300R offers a familiar yet unique proposition it’s neo retro cafe looks is not as polarising as the Duke 390 and yet looks clean and fresh hence it’ll appeal for a wider audience and it’s lighter and well equipped, The brakes are phenomenal it with an IMU integrated ABS it’s undoubtedly the best brake set up in segment combine that with a lighter motorcycle and a Honda chassis you have a clear winner in the Handling department The 300cc single setup cuts a sweet spot between the high stroke duke 373cc and underpowered 249cc from Honda 30PS sounds good for a motorcycle weighing under 150kg I think the pricing is good it offers good value for the price considering the Honda’s trusted reliability you don’t need to sweat over services and build quality Now I need to see is Honda bring the in-line 4 twins the CB650R and CBR650R (which replaces the CB650 F) to Indian markets I think Honda can have a good chunk of the middle weight market of India motorcycle scene with these three motorcycles PS: Not a Honda fanboy at all, I own a GT650

Manufacturers make the mistake of not giving us these 150-300 cc variant motorcycles when they gave it to countries like Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and so on is a big mistake on their part and an insult to us, for me. Even when they do, they introduce them late and lower grade parts or versions. We are the biggest market for them at these price range and engine displacements and I do hope they recognise this and make amends.

People who are seasoned motorcyclists are going to by the cb300 over any of the competition. Quality matters.

I understand that the pricing is high because its CKD, but Honda will have an even more difficult time when the new Dominar launches, especially since there are rumors going around that the new Dominar will have more torque and power than the current one.

honda is honda...... best reliable machine dont compare with others no reliable machine. Worthful as pricing due to it. Nepal hav expensive bike is belong to honda still ppl buy them.. why??

I am looking to get this bike for many reasons : - Compared to Dominar, the power to weight ratio is actually slightly more on this bike, which means it is actually more lively than what the HP figures alone might say. - I think that the power offered on all bikes in this segment is more than enough for our usage in India...it isn't very often that you can cruise at 160kmph for more than 10 mins with Indian road conditions. So I'm looking at a bike in this segment as a long term investment, that I don't have to worry about wanting more power in the future. Honda makes a good case by being the most reliable motorcycle brand in India, and having affordable service costs. - The 390 engine generates too much heat and the whole bike requires a lot of care to be in top condition (from my friends' experiences) like on time servicing, chain lubrication, etc. I am a very big procrastinator and don't necessarily take very good care of my bikes (sadly) so the life of the bike will definitely be lesser in my hands. Whereas Hondas are known to be unfussy and will be more tolerant to missed services. - Looks : this is of course subjective, but man this bike looks so good! It requires a few touch ups (that grey needs to be repainted) but overall it looks amazing. Having said all this, my final point is that I actually want to buy the upcoming Husqvarna Svartpilen. For me, the beauty of that thing will make me want to take care of it and forgive the heat it generates. However, if rumours are to be believed, the Huskies are going to be charged 3L ex-showroom which would push it too out of my budget :(

If only the price came near the Duke 390, which KTM knew the sweet spot not crossing 3lkh with their top model and not crossing 2lkh with their base & mid lineup, we all knew Kawasaki and Yamaha failed, hopefully Honda cb300 looks very promising with a reasonable price

This is my next bike... I currently own a CB190R and I just wish Honda didn't go for the cafe racer look... Never the less it still has that naked European look so its growing on me. Honda to me is reliable and I'm loyal to it for that
