8-5-18: Rode my new 2019 Husky FX350 at Briarcliff MX this afternoon. This is video of my son riding it - he rides it way better than I do! This new chassis has impressive front end feel - super quick and direct response to steering inputs. This directness makes the bike feel even lighter. Still has the stock Dunlop AT81 tires which worked fine today on the prepped MX track. I ran the forks up to 144 psi (stock is 139 psi) and turned in the clickers front and rear to stiffen things up a bit for the track today. The suspension worked very well with good chassis control and still felt plush - more moto capable than my 2017 FX350 which was way too soft on the MX track. The engine is so responsive. It revs quickly with more urgency than my 2017 FX350. The mid and upper mid range feels a little stronger. The biggest change is how smooth the engine runs. The mapping seems more refined with less jerkiness down low and overall cleaner feel. The DDS clutch is so good with light pull at the lever and easy to modulate at slow speeds or in the corners. Never stalled it today. The engine starts quickly too hot or cold. My previous 350's could be inconsistent when starting. Ran EFI Map 2 with traction control on.
The 350 is such a great combination of power/weight/handling and Husky/KTM continue to improve them every year. 2019 is yet another step forward with better handling and refined engine character. Looking forward to more ride time soon!
