I haven't had the horn or ambient temp display on my 2017 elantra.since Nov. 2021.when it was cool and rodents go into engine block to keep warm. This also happened about a year before that but was just ambient temp display. At that time dealership charged me about 150 bucks to rr bumper and patch thoste bad rodent-yummy wires. In Nov 2021 assuming it was same problem I made an appointment at same hyundai dealer to have it repaired. When I got there they said I didn't have an appointment even though I had an email confirmation. Left there and never went back and.never wil.. Been driving around with a boat canned air horn but I need it fixed. Due to serious health issues I cannot attempt the fix shown in this excellent video. But I will when I find a good mechanic. I just hope they don't tell me I need an expensive Korean wiring harness. I LOVE my 2017 Elantra but will not buy another Hyundai. Thanks for reading my rant. Joe, 78 yr old in Scottsdale Arizona.
Hey great video. I had the same exact issues. I followed the wire harness up to a small junction box and noticed that I had three frayed wires. I believe it was from hitting something on the freeway. Fixed the wires and sure enough horn and ambient temp working like new. This was on a 2017 Elantra. Thanks again.
I’m having the same issue, but my temp works & my horn at some point in time went out , came back & went out again. Fuse is working. Don’t have the equipment to test wiring . Recommend ?
You could have faulty wiring or a loose connection or the horn is messed up . I would recommend getting a test light from harbor freight or something just to test the wiring & make sure it’s cool . Make sure you get power when the horn is pressed . And make sure the ground is good . If it is then , then replace the horn . Or you could just get a new horn & plug it in and if it works then good , if not , then you’ll have to test the wiring
