I don't get all the hate out there for the Cherokee Trailhawk. It made it through the Rubicon Trail, and have seen it in more than one video handling stuff you would never see on most trails. The transmission problem was fixed years ago.
Among the sea of boring SUVs, the Cherokee stands out especially the Trailhawk version possessing true off road capability. Very few vehicles have a locking rear diff and low range. Behind the wheel, there is a robustness and refinement about it. What impressed me about the 2019 Trailhawk I test drove were the NVH levels and ride quality even with AT tires; Its on par if not better than the Audi A4 Allroad I currently own. Don't be misled, the Cherokee is a well designed, well thought out product that has a place in the marketplace. A true go anywhere vehicle that has me rethinking my garage.
I have a 2017 Trailhawk since brand new and haven't had one problem yet. I hunt and fish, I have taken it on cart tracks and aside from some scratches, not one complaint! Take it from someone who actually owns and uses it for what it is designed, this is a great vehicle.
A lot of these car reviewers drive Ferrari and Mercedes and then they get in a "regular humans car" and complain that it isn't as luxurious or isn't that fast as they are used too....they are just spoiled.......I went from a 2012 Pickup to a Jeep Cherokee and I love it !!! I am 100% happy with it.
I wish it had more ground clearance. But getting some rock sliders would help. Glad they put all that underneath protection so it can get scratched up. For the harder stuff it has Lockers in the rear. Some BF Goodrich ko2 or something like that would make it a better offer roder.
From a purely aesthetic standpoint, this Jeep Cherokee is so easy on the eyes regardless of the direction from which it is viewed, but this very capable offroad beast's prowess goes well beyond looks. Being the stingy bastard that I am, I'll bide my time for 5 years and buy a non-running 2019 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk from the Copart online auctions for 2 grand, then get it running with the help of shade tree mechanics.
My wife is picking up her new one later today but I gotta ask.....Who's the bright designer who placed the antenna between the luggage racks? And who placed the fuel door on the passenger side? Most if not all gas stations around here you have to keep to the right of the pumps! I guess if the hose is long enough we'll havta drape it over the roof, avoid the antenna and fuel up! I guess the designer is from the UK!
@@CapeAnnImages Bizarre. I am from Canada and I take road trips into the US 2-3 times a year - never not been able to decide what side I want at a gas station. I pulled mine and unless I am in a mountain pass, I always get radio reception, satellite reception and GPS functionality, even with a Thule covering the "stubby".
I'm in Gloucester, Ma Cape Ann which most is an island, just the other day I took my wife's Jeep to get gas and purposely pulled up to the right side of the pump and the hose was too short! If I pull up to the left side of the pumps I get those evil stares from drivers who either have to wait or try the wrong side of the gas pump island.
@@CapeAnnImages Bizarre. In Canada and the parts of the US I havee been to (West coast and along the border) it is expected that you line up according to what side the tank is on, and pull all the way forward when you do.
Dont park it in the garage for 12mths and not get it serviced….Jeep will void your warranty…. CoV restrictions, stay at home they said, only did 500km for the year….yep it voided the warranty…… now up for a huge bill for an electrical issue….still in warranty period….
I DEEPLY REGRET buying my 2020 Cherokees. Learn from my MISTAKES. My 1st 2020 Cherokee was a lemon and my 2nd 2020 Cherokee was not built right and neither Jeep or the selling dealer Bob Poynter Columbus will make it right . BUYER BEWARE do NOT BUY a Cherokee or trust a Jeep dealer. Just Empty Every Pocket is a TRUE acronym.
Everyone I know who owns one of these has had transmission problems. Long term reliability on this SUV sucks. FCA should've fixed this since it first occurred in 2014. 2017 models are having transmission failures. Jeep dealerships now have a dedicated phone line for transmission failures. You should be able to get one these brand new from the dealer $10K below MSRP.
My wife has a '14 Cherokee, it certainly has had far fewer issues than my "luxury" German sedan. No transmission problems. We take it everywhere and frankly, I prefer it to mine. And it only has the pokey 4 cylinder engine.
I own a 2014 V6 cherokee trailhawk and I haven't had any problem with the transmission. Only at the beginning I visited the dealer a couple times for the recalls
