Im an adult driver and learned to drive with the 2014 and fell in LOVE! The handling is second to none in my opinion - I really like that I feel as one with this vehicle. I like that the seating feels high enough that it’s like a small SUV but also small enough to make maneuvering very comfortable. I just purchased the 2019 and cannot wait for it to arrive to my home!
My last 3 cars have been Kia Souls, a 2010, a 2014 and now the 2019 that he showing. I bought the car before I saw this video and everything he says is true. Try one....you'll like it....
@@MrJaguy30 Yes, & I did drive it in the Minnesota snow for 3 years- it did ok, never spun out and it just took skillful driving to get out of being 'stuck' in packed snow. I do recommend just opting for bigger tires if you're going to stay in a snowy area; older Souls have small tires not ideal for snow pile ups - I didn't bother because I knew I'd eventually move somewhere warm
Haha! There are SO many people like yourself. That's why I consistently tell anyone who's looking at a small car, or a small SUV, to just test drive the Soul. You don't have to buy it, but you should know what the Soul offers, because, at the very least, knowing what you can get at this price point will help you end up with a better car, even if it's not the Soul.
2014 kia soul base manual here. Great car, solid build and very inexpensive (13500). Will stay with kia for my next car. 115,000 with 0 issues love you guys
I bought a 2014, and then they came out with the new design, more sharp looking and I coveted thee. I went in for an oil change and they were promoting a trade-in with zero percent and I bought a 2016 which I still have. love love love.
I’m looking to get this car is it actually spacious ? I drive a small Cruze and need a bit more room for me and my daughter would my daughter have a good amount of room in the back seat in her car seat?
Omg I’m getting teary eyed just reading all the comments of the unique names you all gave your Kia Soul babies! Please tell me I’m not the only one emotionally attached to their car!
I'm looking at a Kia Soul to replace my dearly beloved Prius C, Bluebelle, who may have been totaled due to an accident this week. I've got a few names picked out for the Soul depending on the color I end up with (buying used with a limited time and budget, I have to be flexible on some things)!
Love, love, love my 2015 and wanting them to go PHEV. Best urban car ever with crazy giddy-up (2.0 l) on the highway. Unmatched turning radius and a boat-load of features for the money. I have the white and call it my Imperial Storm Trooper. :)
I bought a new Soul back in 2017 and it’s the best car I ever had! I can fit two suite cases a cooler and a bit more in the trunk! Mine came with a factory installed bug deflector... It looks totally kick ass! ☠️💀🤠🤗🤛🏻
I just got a 2015 Kia Soul, all black, with blacked out wheels(alloy), and I must say, going from standard sedans, which I drove since 2006, the Soul is so much more FUN!!! I was absolutely floored by this car! So I plan to keep this one for a while, and then later move up to a 2019 model when they are on used lots! The Kia Soul is truly one of the best looking "box cars" out there, and quite simply one of the best cars for its segment! I LOVE it!!!!
Both my wife and I drive souls. My wife a 2012 plus and myself a 2014 base both with auto transmissions Great car good mileage lots of room easy to get in and out of. Very good fit and finish.
I purchased my 2018 Soul Exclaim 6 months ago. This one has the Turbo engine, and it is astounding. So much different than my first Soul that I purchased in 2012...quieter ride, more comfortable seating, better handling, and of course gobs of power.
I love my 2019 Kia Soul!!!!!💛❤ 💙💚 Beautiful car and beautiful price and beautiful handling-performance. Thank you Hyundai for creating the Kia Car Company. Its a great car.🇰🇷🚗🚗🚗🚗🚗🇰🇷🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I bought my 2018 Soul in June. Red on top white on bottom everyone has said that it fits my personality. I am a coke collector so yes partly why It caught my eye. Love my Soul... Pretty sure once I am ready to move on to another vehicle it will be another Kia Soul!
We see this happen ALL.... THE..... TIME.... here. The Soul is a GREAT car that fits SO many people. We often sell a Soul to someone who came in looking at something different. The car just makes sense for a huge variety of people in several different life stages, and it's still a standout in the small crossover vehicle class.
It would be so hard to top this review. Excellent job, as well as, the selling points that you discussed. The attention to detail you employ is top notch. This dude could probably sell me a cheap paper-mate pen with a mark up of 500%, respectively!
Psst… hey…. you wanna buy a top notch roller ball, ocean blue, state of the art hieroglyphics device. It's not inexpensive, but it's worth every penny!
@@BrantfordKia I settled for the Kia Soul, manny, that is. So, I'll take a backseat to the hierogylphic action. But, you know what? I have a friend, of a friend, that knows a guy's girlfriend that may be interested.
I have 2 2018 Souls, a base with the manual and an ! Model. They're great for me and my 2 sons since we're all over 6 ft tall and have plenty of head & leg room. Definitely worth a look if your in the market for an affordable, roomy ride
@@MrJaguy30 the base 1.6 performance wasn't bad but but wasn't exciting either. After I got my 2.0 I can definitely recommend getting the bigger engine model. No snow where i live so can't answer that one.
I just bought a 2019 red Soul. I'm very pleased with my car, and the price was definitely a selling point. I do not understand why any automaker, thinks this car is primarily for young people.
I think Kia has seen success marketing this car as a young person's vehicle. No one within Kia thinks that this car is "primarily for young people" we all realize that this car is tremendously versatile, and works very well for a large segment of the population.
My 2013 flies has a lot of power almost to fast! LOVE THIS CAR!!! I have no noise? or chips? have had the car for almost 3 years. My KIA flies I mean snap your head back power!!
I just purchased a 2020 Kia . I love your videos and have downloaded the owners manual however I am 63 years old and it’s a bit of an overload for me . Safety features for me is getting to know my panel . I don’t want to be out on the road trying to figure out what I’m doing wrong with my car play and basically all the panel features . I’ve been looking but like I said there’s info overload . When I looked at the manual I feel like I need to take a class to absorb it all. This is probably the best decision I’ve ever made . My fear of driving has much improved since this vehicle ! I love everything about it .. it’s just I feel maybe you should have a users manual for dummies 😂
I just bought this car and I love it! We are tall people (I'm 6', my husband is 6'3" and we have an infant seat and a toddler seat and we all fit very comfortably. We can fit our extra long stroller in the trunk without a problem along with groceries and other random items.
I JUST BOUGHT ME A 2019 BLACK SOUL. I LOVE IT. . IM GONNA PAY IT OFF NEXT WEEK. I CAN'T WAIT TO GET MY TITLE IN MY HAND :) OH AND I ORDERED A SPOILER TO GO OVER MY BACK WINDOW....LOOKS SO GOOD...WASN'T SURE IF IT WOULD, BUT IT DID. THANK GOODNESS ;)
Throughout North America the manual transmission is only available on the base models. Although one can rarely spot Kia Soul variations overseas that are the plus and/or turbo models with a manual. There is also a car conversion company in Southern California that will (ironically) convert any Kia Soul over to a manual transmission for just under 3k. They also convert over Kia Stingers for just over 5k to manual
When I got mine I showed the salesman the unit I was interested in from their website and he kept questioning me as to if I really wanted it because it was a stick, 1 of five in the D/FW Texas areas at the time, and I kept saying yes. He finally handed me the keys and said I'd have to go get it because he didn't know how to drive a stick.
Hey Peter, Great walk-through! Couple questions, does the 2019 Soul come with Lane Keep Assist/Departure Warning or Adaptive Cruise on any trims below SX or are they part of a Tech package? Also does the Auto daytime running lights feature turn on just the front lights or the back lights as well? Daytime running lights have always confused me so I just manually control the low and high-beams myself! Thanks again!
So most of the Tech that you're asking about is available in the EX Tech Package, so that would be the same engine and transmission package that you see in this video, but with the tech you want. The Auto headlights are different than the daytime running lights. Daytime running lights are always on in Canada, and on this car they are only on in the front of the car. The Auto headlight feature mentioned in the video turns on your full headlight system (front and back) when the ambient light isn't as bright as daylight. Hope that helps!
Thanks for your support! We do have several videos up on the Electric Kia Soul. Our latest is here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0tnmWtJ2cGM.html&t Feel free to search our channel for more videos on this car.
The Soul EX Tech would have Leather, Air cooled seats, factory navigation (in addition to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto which is available on both cars) xenon lights, Lane departure warning, Smart Cruise Control, Heated rear seats, bigger wheels, blind spot detection, Rear cross traffic alert, power driver's seat,... and more...
At 6:00, you mentioned that the seats fold down but you did not demonstrate that. Do they go down far enough to be flush with the floor like in the Dodge Grand Caravan?
They fold virtually flat. Minivans like the Dodge Caravan, and our own Kia Sedona have a different designed rear end to allow the seats to fold into the floor. I think you'll be impressed with the cargo capacity of the Soul, but the best way to make sure it's right for you is to visit your local dealer. If that's us, feel free to call us to set up an appointment. 519-304-6542
We're actually doing a live video in about 15 minutes where we compare the 2016 Soul (same body style as this) with the 2020 Kia Soul. I'm about 6 feet tall and I can show you the room inside both. We have a service advisor who is a big guy and over 6'2" and he's driven a Kia Soul for years, both the old and newer design.
I have rented Souls in the past, and they are my favorite for a few reasons; but mostly because they are easy to get in and out of. (I'm 63 years old.) But some of the new cars are coming without spare tires - is there a spare and a jack in this car??
It depends on the trim level. It's an industry wide trend to use inflator kits instead of spare tires. In our cars, if you want a spare and it doesn't come with one, you can still get a spare tire kit. There is room in the floor to fit everything that you need.
To the owners of Kia Souls and Brantford Kia, is the vehicle roomy enough to comfortably ride 4 small growing granddaughters (ages 7, 5, 4 and 4 mos.) for years to come, or would you recommend a similar larger model?
Comfort is always a tough thing for someone else to judge for you. Having said that, the Soul does capably sit 5 people. It has plenty of headroom and enough width do accommodate 5 adults. If you plan on doing a lot of longer trips, my personal recommendation would be to move to something with 3 rows of seats. Having said that, the Soul is very capable to bring 5 people around town for years to come, and it gives you the benefit of having a small, affordable, and economical vehicle to keep for years.
@@BrantfordKia I appreciate your very detailed reply back and I agree that comfort is for the owner to judge. I will possibly be driving 4 lil people (granddarlings) in the vehicle most of the time...I just want it to be a safe and comfortable ride for us. I will not be doing any travel--mostly close local driving in suburban Atlanta. I rented a Kia Soul during my most recent travel there and I and the granddarlings were quite impressed. I will have to zoom in a little closer at the Kia. I am a little burned out on SUVs.
We hear this all the time... someone comes in looking for a small vehicle, or something other than the Soul, we tell them to try out the Soul, just for fun. We've sold all kinds of Souls like that. They're such a great car for so many people!
I just bought this car and I love it!!! But I have a question??? Why would you think I maybe we not want the lights around the speakers 😹😹 lol( coming from a young person.
Unfortunately, this lacks the all important sensor-based safety features (standardized now in almost all Hondas and Toyotas) such as the collision avoidance, lane change assistance, auto cruise control, etc ... I do own a 2012 Kia Soul and love it, but I won't consider this until it has such safety features. No kidding, this is 2019 model, safety is priceless and it is a must-have.
Joseph Kwok my Soul ! Fully loaded as side assist - I think. It makes noise as long as the indicator is in use if there is something in my blind spot. My side view mirrors light up.
We expect the next generation Soul (being introduced VERY soon) to have all of these features. We have all of those features on our 2019 Kia Forte and others.
