I was actually reading the review till i saw a this youtube review regards kia stonic!! And now!! U are making to get one :) a nice review!! Thank you so much syed..
The reason why DCT is also in a Stonic is it saves fuel as well according to Kia if you Google, other than performance wise-DCT is also known to be fuel economical according to Kia. Thanks for reviewing the Kia Stonic in 🇸🇬’s context! Perhaps review the Kia Seltos next?
Thanks 😊 CVTs are also efficient and optimal in getting power out of a small engine which was why I’m curious. Performance is not the key selling point of this car either.. but it’s interesting that Kia still went ahead with a DCT in this. No complaints though ✌️
Car Life Singapore Agree that CVTs are also optimal and efficient in getting power out of a small engine but in Kia Motor parts bin-DCTs then were readily available and it does not make sense economically for Kia to develop a whole new gearbox just for Stonic-therefore my take is Kia readily used the DCTs applied to numerous models in their line-up. If it were a CVT-I would have re-considered getting other ride...😅.
Drove this and I would say, I liked the power. I got a feeling that Kia was being a little conservative of the acceleration timing - quoted as 10.6 seconds. Some guy in a manual Stonic with the same engine and 17-inch wheels did it in 10.0 seconds (he was shifting a little slowly). The DCT should be faster than the manual. Another video showed a DCT Stonic, stock, accelerating to 100 in 8.8 seconds (in that video, the ambient temperature was low - hence, in Singapore I would say that the 1.0 base model with 15 inch tires is easily a sub 10-second car to 100). Excellent performance for the price. Excellent review!
Hey you can refer to this POV drive video. I don’t rmb too much NVH on this car other than the engine vibration at idle. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-RdG0lpZaibw.html
Mazda cx 30 beats kia stonic for me, not a bad car though, but no new technology. Hyundai Tucson is very futuristic, compact Suvs better start following their trends.
what??? $82k Sgd?? that's around 2mill plus here in PH hahaha, then another $25 tax per year?? you might be so damn rich my friend owning one there, hehe actually, I'm on the waiting list for the base model which just cost me around $19k Sgd with roof rails, hahaha were so lucky here in PH, got NA engine though but no problem with that, but mainly reason driving around SG from point A to B roads seems a legal holiday here in PH hahaha, love to go back in SG sometime next year for the F1. nice vlogs btw.
Didn’t get to test the speakers during test drive when u say the speakers quite good do you mean that I can still hear those power power base when listening to rnb? Like those boom boom boom 😂
Oh I meant that the audio quality for a stock system in a relatively cheap car - it’s good , it was clear and I couldn’t hear much “noise” from the background. Either that or the reception that day was very good 😂
for me it would be a honda jazz - its cheaper, has a good reliability track record, simpler, easier to maintain and slightly smaller i believe. but if you want abit more power and a more fun drive - stonic is good :)
who needs a car in singapore?a pint size country with efficient transport system..my province in the philippines is bigger.but with our transport system what we need is cars that is built for war..
what you say is wrong, fuel consumption is very high, not a good point of this car, I have this car, in city traffic is 10 litres for 100 km. It burns fuel like a 2.0 ! Why DCT? Because Hyundai/Kia have only that automatic transmission type!
Hi, you got 10km/l in city traffic. I was getting 11-13 in a mix of highway and city driving. Also, FC is affected by many factor such as weight, tire size, driving style, driving conditions etc. Which could be different from yours. There are different types of automatics, DCT being one of them. Just because cars in sg typically come with automatics doesn’t mean they come with autos in other markets 😊
@@CarLifeSG calling such a small hatchback a SUV without the real functionality of a SUV is simply misleading and inappropriate. Car itself not a problem - the marketing plot is.
Thanks but i do suggest you watch Carwow review and lean from it. E.g. he would put a luggage at the boot to show the space and sit 3 adult at rear to check the comfortable. Fyi
