Burrow vs Tagovailoa will go down as one of the greatest QB duels in the history of the SEC. Remember Tua was playing through pain and nearly got his team the victory. Burrow was just one step better. Truly a game for the ages.
My favorite play of the entire season was after Patrick Queen’s interception vs Bama. Burrow to Edwards-Helaire. That was the first time in a long time I saw an LSU football team truly go for a kill shot and stomp on someone’s neck, and it was beautiful to watch.
That team was one of the only teams where I had faith that they were going to make the play. You just knew they were going to find a way. You knew the receiver that got the ball was going to make the catch. It was a great season.
I am old enough to remember the LSU Ole Miss game in 1959… I was six years old and my parents got to go to that game. They often said it was when Tiger stadium became tiger stadium. Thank God they took the train because they were pretty well oiled when they got back to Jackson Mississippi...Our babysitter pick them up at the train station and it was quite a celebration on that Sunday afternoon!
@@jfredknobloch so cool to hear your story! I'm a baton rouge native, born and raised, and I love hearing about the Tigers, whether it's classic or new. What was your first LSU game, if you don't mind me asking? I was born in '99, so I am rather spoiled with the success of the Tigers!
@@huntertrum3658 My first LSU game was 64 or 65 vs MSU in Jackson ... LSU won. The first big I went to in Tiger Stadium was against Auburn and LSU won 35-7 or so. That would have been 1973? The Bert Jones/Ronnie Estay team...I think.
As an Arkansas fan, even I could acknowledge history. You just knew you were witnessing history watching them play, it was amazing seeing it real time. Best college team of all time imo
Joe Burrow had the best single season of any college quarterback ever. The yards, the TDs, the picks, the completion percentage, the players he outclassed. They ran the table and beat all of the very best teams in the country. One of the toughest schedules ever. An absolute masterpiece.
You're right, 60 TD's is impressive, but people forget that he also had over 6,000 total yards. Truly GOAT numbers. Joe Burrow is the ONLY QB, NFL or College, to ever have 6,000 total yards in one season. AND he did it in the SEC West. That just doesn't make sense.
Wrong. Cam Newton had a better individual season. He too was a remarkable record breaker but he did so with no talent around him while Burrow had Hall of Fame talent around him.
@@AdamKlownzingercam newton isn’t even in the top 10. Come on dude. Burrow made all these receivers. If burrow wasn’t there. There would be no chase and Jefferson. Just like Bree’s. They make everyone better around them. Cam newton did great that one season. Was nowhere near burrow. Oh and a side note. Cam newton lost 1 game that season. Guess who beat him. Yup. LSU
I’ve been a college football fan for right at 50 years. I’ve seen a lot of great players, coaches & teams over that time period, but that 2019 LSU team is without a doubt the single best team that I’ve ever seen in major college football. The real numbers back that statement up too !! They played against the overall hardest strength of schedule that a mythical FBS football national championship awarded team has ever played against, yet they still scored the most points in a single season in the 151 year history of the game against that schedule !! The 2001 Miami & 1995 Nebraska teams didn’t play against near the schedule that the 2019 LSU team played against. The 2020 Alabama team played several teams that barely had the NCAA minimum of 52 available scholarship players to be able to play a game, all the while Alabama played every game in the 2020 season with damn near their full allotment of 85 scholarship players. They played 3 games against teams that had an all new coaching staff from the head coach down, with teams basically not having any spring or early fall preseason practice to amount to anything because of the covid 19 pandemic, along with getting to play in the 2020 CFP mythical FBS football national championship game against a team that only played 6 regular season games, with only 2 of those games being against a team that even had a winning record. They also didn’t play against near the same competition as what the 2019 LSU team played against !!!
I’m glad that the people of Louisiana and all other LSU fans had this season to dwell on to keep us going during the early stages of the pandemic. Otherwise, idk where we would be...
LSU Alumni - 1973. I can't stop watching this!. I watched the national championship game on a giant screen on a cruise ship in the middle of the Caribbean with my wife of 45 years, 10 feet from a bar serving free drinks. It doesn't get better than that. One of my life's greatest moments.
@@Ziroidex unfortunately he just transferred out last week. He was big #62 for the Tigers. Regardless our family will still be Tiger fans from the great memories we had last year
I would give 20 flukey fart in a storm 2019 lswho season for one legendary, once in a lifetime, greatest of all time team and season in college football history 2020 ALABAMA CRIMSON TIDE.
@@victorcornelius7948 LOL !! That Alabama team played an LSU team that was down to 48 scholarship players, them and Mississippi St. both had to dress injured players to meet the NCAA minimum of 52 available scholarship players to even play a game, Alabama mean while played with close to their full allotment of 85 available scholarship players all season. Alabama played against Arkansas, Ole Miss & Mississippi St.., all teams that had entirely new coaching staffs, while having basically no spring or early preseason fall practice time. Alabama played against a Georgia & LSU team who both had a new coordinator that installed a completely new system, again in a season when they had basically no spring or early fall preseason fall practice time. Alabama played a Notre Dame team in the CFP semifinals that got completely hammered in their last game before playing Alabama. Alabama played an Ohio St. team that only played 6 regular season games, with only 2 of those games being against teams that had a winning record. Alabama played against teams that had top players who opted out of the 2020 season, when Alabama had none. Alabama played teams missed practice time and games because of positive covid 19 test, teams that had players & coaches that missed games because of positive covid 19 test, when Alabama never had a player to miss a game !!! Dude the 2020 Alabama team wouldn’t beat the 2019 & 2018 Alabama teams. The 2020 Alabama team basically played against JV teams !! Funny how nobody but Alabama fans think that the 2020 Alabama team is the best, now isn’t it ??? That 2019 LSU team played against good on good scooter !!! That beat a full roster Alabama team that had a 32 game home game winning streak, a full roster Clemson team that was riding a 29 game winning streak, a full roster #7 ranked Florida team, unlike the Florida team Alabama beat, a full roster #4 ranked Georgia team, when Alabama didn’t play against a full roster Georgia team. Hell, the Ohio St. team Alabama played even had players out because of the covid 19. The 2020 Alabama team didn’t play against near the teams that the 2019 LSU team did and they still had better numbers than what the 2020 Alabama team did even if you take 2 games off of their 2019 schedule !!!!
Btw egghead, do you know what LSU & Alabama’s head to head win / loss record is against each other over their last 21 regular season games since the 2000 season is ?? Alabama - 11 wins LSU - 10 wins
This was maybe a once in a generation team. I have never seen such a complete team. The offense was perfect. The defense wasn’t the best LSU defense ever but it was really good. Joe Burrow is the greatest quarterback in college football history. What a team!
Pretty much every analyst and people who know a lot more about college football than anyone else agree. LSU and Burrow accomplished more than any team or player in history. Men lie women lie numbers don't.
15:05-15:25 stuck out to me. Our db’s were so good because each and every single day they had to go toe to toe with the best receivers in the country: Jefferson, Chase, and Marshall. They HAD to be that good.
Been watching LSU since moving down here in 1990 and have been through some lean times. 03, 07 and (the shoulda been) in 11 were something to behold, but the 2019 Championship stands alone as the single greatest season in CFB History; measuring records, award sweeps, and perfection against SEVEN Top 10 teams. I view the 2020 season as a refractory period (look it up), after the wood LSU laid to the rest of the country - we needed a year's break.
@@fidgetcat1054 quite true. Without a doubt the best win of the year. Though the grittiness of the Ole Miss win was also awesome - very proud of them that game
If God came to me and told me that He would give us the 2019 team, and it would win the National Championship and be considered the greatest team of all time, BUT we would only finish around .500 the next two seasons? DEAL! I'll take it! Two mediocre seasons for that 2019 season? Easy decision.
Geaux Tigers! I'm a born-on-the-bayou Louisiana boy even though I haven't lived there since 1971 when I earned my Master's from a Louisiana university on who's campus I grew up from the age of six. To say that 2019 made me happy is the most massive understatement in history!
This year was so great! After years of witnessing top 10 LSU vs top 10 Alabama I finally witnessed us end the drought and break multiple records and win a hiesman! I love the LSU tigers
I am glad this was to the memory off the lsu family losing a wonderful person and also to the others that were their .they did experience the majic May the Lord be blessed with their eternity together

@@DTS_I Watch their full games both offense and defense were like NFL ready/NFL level players out on the field. They will easily get LSU run for their money.
Right likewise they was a good in 2019 and Coach O had the big head talking about my Alabama Crimson Tide so 2020 beat that ass 52-17 and it will continue in 2021 thru out.Roll Tide🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘
@@charlesbolds406 you guys made such a big deal when you lost ONE game! The LSU faithful suffered 8 LONG YEARS of pain losing to you guys. And you guys compared your one loss to our 8 game losing streak...

@@ianthehyper474 Alabama played a full SEC schedule playing 5 top 15 teams and 4 top 10 teams. There were basically no cupcake teams they had to play this year except Arkansas and Kentucky, and arguably Tennessee. They had 3 Heisman contenders in the top 5 for only the second time in history, they had more points per game than LSU did last year, (Though it was very close like 49.5ppg to 49.4ppg) and they held opponents to fewer points per game than LSU. In my opinion, they had the better WR core than LSU with the Heisman winner and Jaylen Waddle, who was supposed to be BETTER than that Heisman winner this year and was doing better than him until he got injured. But the main reason I think that Alabama did so well this year is because of the non-player reasons. Sark did wonders with his play calling. All the plays he made were just perfect and almost always worked. Best OC I have seen in a while. But the main reason I think this year's Alabama was so special was that there was such little conflict. In my years as a Bama fan, I don’t think I remember seeing Nick happier than he was once they won the National Championship because he was happy for the players. They seemed to have a better relationship which ultimately led them to play better. If you think 2019 Alabama is better than 2020 Bama, your right in terms of talent, but overall, 2020 has 2019 Bama beat by a mile, even at full strength, which they didn’t even play LSU at full strength las year. Personally, I think 2020 Alabama is better than 2019 LSU but feel free to disagree.
Some Oklahoma fans too probably. Can't tell you how many Sooner folks online are still moaning and wincing every time they see a video on this LSU squad, especially the Peach Bowl itself.
@@Photograph1974 Rubbish! Alabama had more players available because they come there to win national titles. Their opponents played with depleted rosters. That alone devalues Alabama's season.
@@Photograph1974 Four words... “Seven top ten teams”. Try to beat that!! And stop trying to delete our once in a life time season with your “just another dynasty season”!! You guys in Bama (not including Auburn) are so rude and cannot take losing just TWO games!!
@@Photograph1974 after LSU won it all everyone was comparing them to the all time great teams. Nobody did that with Alabama except Alabama fans. 2020 was a shit show. Teams missing players, no true road games, no fans. Shit Ohio St played 6 games to get to the title game. There is no comparison. 😂😂😂😂
Jamar chase and Justin Jefferson are both top 5 receivers in the league… not to mention CEH is a starter in kc. Terrace Marshall might be utilized in the slot but he hasn’t been great but still starting. And obv burrow. All that on one college team is so unfair lol Legit the best college program in history, arguably.
I went on a cruise with LSU fans and family who were still celebrating their championship 2 weeks before COVID-19 was declared a pandemic in March 2020. It feels like a long time ago.
Went to the Vandy and the Ole Miss games and my brother and his son got to go to the Georgia and Oklahoma games and my other brother and his son went to the national championship game! Big tiger family fest!
It had been a long road since that heartbreaker in 2011. Les Miles Leaving (yes it was getting time but still) Mike VI’s Passing Alabama’s 8 year streak Florida, Alabama, and especially A&M in 2018 But it was well worth the wait to finally have it back.
2 years later and O is fired at the end of the season. Hate to hear it. 2019 LSU was truly special to witness. As a Tennessee fan, I’ve learned to appreciate winning football. Haven’t seen it from my team in ages.
With our new coach this will happen again and again. Maybe not as easy as this one but if we keep the Louisiana players at LSU we will be very hard to beat. What a season!! God Bless
buckeye fan here, GO BURREUX. hes born and raised in ohio, but the love the people of Louisiana showed Joe is absolutely moving.... my second favorite college team behind ohio state, classy program, classy fans, classy coaches. hope to them bounce back under Kelly.
Bro American ads are hilariously bad holy shit, but awesome video and what a year from LSU don't think we will see something like that again for a very long time
