Marco step by our festival 15 years since his first visit, and we can confirm he is still a steam train on going. Minnemann offers us an hour of complex drumlines, with a very personal and musical touch. We loved to have one of the most technical drummers of the scene!

What an amazing musician Marco is!!. Personally i'd have loved to see what he would have done in Dream Theater. Nothing wrong with Mangini or Portnoy. But Marco's approach to drumming is very interesting and musical, as well as creative and energetic!

Good performance and long, Bravo. The drum throne seems a little wobbly and in this kind of environment of a big room, the sound defusing a little, I would wear headphones to be closer to my accoustic delivery, I don't know if you are satisfied with the overall tuning...work, work, work, center snare, double bass drum, charley (more double hooks with the left hand over the charley) and the road opens to the marvels of swing. Definitly an 8 out of 10.... Punch on guys and gals ! :)

Most of the song is based on the same structure. There are 2 main cycles : (11/16 x3, 4/8, 11/16 x3, 5/8) on each verse and 15/8 (4/4 +7/8) on refrains. Then from 5'13'' until the end it is in 6/4. The little tricky detail is the very beginning : It seems like Marco is leaving 5 eight notes of silence (5/8) before entering with a snare and hi hat stroke that lasts for 2 eight notes, and finally playing two bars of 11/16 before really getting into the first verse ( those 2 intro bars of 11 are being played with the following division : 3/16 + 2/4 or 4/8 as you prefer).

The whole audition thing seemed like a reality show. Since Mangini was already the drummer in LaBrie's solo project, he pretty much had the job before auditions even started. Besides, there are a lot of comments attributed to Mangini here and there about him being unhappy and basically told to STFU and do his job. Surely Minneman has more freedom as is.

One of the things DT wanted for the next drummer was being marriwd to the project and nothing more and well, Marco working with his own project (Aristocrats) and SW at the long run could have been a problem of interest (gig dates and stuff) so.. DT decided to go with the safe bet and that was Mangini (saying this with in disrespectful way to his ability and work as a musician)
