Just booked santro sportz amt, there is a huge difference in the built quality and interior of both of these cars, i would pick santro even if wagon r had a turbocharged petrol engine, what is the use of a powerful engine if the car is not mated to digest its performance.
Ford Figo titanium (MT) costs 7.12L on road in Hyderabad and WagonR zxi costs 6.75 lakhs. It is possible to get discounts on the Figo since its sales are down. For the extra price you get 1)Alloy wheels. 2) Rear fog lamps. 3) Automatic Climate control. 4) Keyless start stop. 5) Reverse camera. 6) Height adjustment driver seat. 7) Front and rear adjustable head rests. 8) 4 speakers. 9) Taller tyres. What the wagonR offers is 1) 200 kgs of less weight. 2) Android auto and apple car play. 3) Bigger boot. I would seriously go for the Figo. And maybe swap the touchscreen with a sync3 one on the freestyle or the aspire.

Go for 1.2 Manual Petrol Top End. You will not be disappointed. Peppy one, Tall boy design, spacious cabin, good features which includes touch screen infotainment system and more. Also has dual Airbag, Abs, EBD as standard.
It is going to be a runaway success as the average car buyer in India seeks i) Reliability ii) fuel efficiency iii) value for money iv) after-sales service v) practicality. Maruti is able to deliver on all of that very well. The average car buyer in India lives in average India which for the most part does not allow him or her to zoom around at great speeds or accelerate in wild abandon or bother about styles. There are also quite a few who have the money,but go for smaller cars as they say what is the use of having a shiny ,big new car that is going to be dinged, scratched as soon as it is on the road or has no space to be parked or squeezed in crowded areas. He or she has to crawl though crowds , narrow spaces and decrepit roads. So higher safety standards do not resound that much with many, since they rationalise that where are they going to speed anyway. I thus am happy with the new Government NCAP from 2019, at least manufacturers have to come upto a minimum safety standard. The average car consumer in India still does not place it on a priority. That is a fact, otherwise we would not drive around like madmen. Till the time our people, economy and infrastructure do not mature, cars like this will rule the roost.
Looks big Why the Maruti team removed adjustable head rest in front and rear seats which are available in previous version. Crash test rating not mentioned. Ground clearance is low

@@yashmore165 the new car is definitely lighter than previous one but they say its more stronger and considering the stipulations that the government has set mandatory for cars launching in India, it can be assumed that WagonR is safe enough to be launched in India meeting the conditions. And btw a crash in any of the cars in this segment is fatal. But you wont be buying to crash it tomorrow. A more powerful and capable car is still better than an incapable one anyday. And dont assume things like its not safe and all. Weight has nothing to do with safety.
Design is good. Santro kicked Wagon R to change. No roof rallys as it was identity of Wagon R. Also do they offer parcel tray which was below co driver seat.
