I say a prayer for every teenage 5'1 girl I see doing 20mph over the speed limit in a Starbucks parking lot, who hits Grandma because she can't actually see over the plastic sea of a dash.
Toyota4Life.....too bad their cars are so ugly. Their grills are over the top humungous and the styling on most of their vehicles, including Lexus, reminds me of Predator meets Optimus Prime and these cars are their offspring. Mazdas are more driver focused and the styling is beautiful. Btw I've owned more Toyotas than most people. In the last 20 years: 4 Tundras, 3 4Runners, 2 FJs, 2 Lexus and 2 Camry's. I now own 2 Hondas and a Mazda. They are all great cars and as far as a Toyota goes only their trucks are pleasing to look at...and the 4Runner.
For me to listen to this dude speak over 20 minutes and not changing the channel says a lot about how good his oratory skills are. One of the best auto reviewers on RU-vid.
Because of your review, we actually purchased one of these today!!! Your videos are hands-down one of the most thorough and pleasure to watch. Keep the content rolling!!! Cheers!!!
He does a good job on the reviews. Others that do reviews sounds like they are reading from some material provided by the car makers marketing dept. Not here.. just the facts man.
How is it holding up?, I have the 2016 SGT, I am considering one in the future, I am just waiting for the 2.5T AWD to come out!, if it doesn't by the end of 2020, I will just get the HB GT. Cheers
Bill Clinton - I have just over 4000 miles on my new Mazda3...my new 2018 Mazda3. Derp. I should have waited but I had to get out of my last car asap. And the 2018's are so good I don't really regret jumping on it. Especially with the discounts Mazda was giving. This video just makes me want a second 3.
I got this except no AWD or manual because of GF wants automatic, but it is truly amazing.I have not driven more expensive cars but this car is really comfortable and fun to drive. It feels stiff and stable and looks amazing
If you are in the US it is a Skyactive-G engine. Other than a tweak to the auto tansmission. This is the same engine and transmission from the prev year. Also I think the X engine is less HP than the 186 of the G. If im not mistaken I think the X is 160-170hp
@@imnotusingmyrealname4566 well I'm jealous then lol. Mazda still hasn't made up their mind if the x will come to the US. But it doesn't seem like it. Also if we did we get the lower powered one.
I made the mistake of watching Demuro's fluffy review of the 3, which to be quite honest was all over the place. And, his "Doug score" made zero sense not only to me, but to himself. He sang praises about the car (save for the infotainment) then gave it low scores. His subscriber count makes me mad. Thanks for bringing the in-depth quality, as per the usual.
Yeah I saw that the other day... his style is more suited for older cool cars, like say the F1 piece he did... that I enjoyed... but really other than that, there's not much there.. it's crazy how many subscribers he has (I don't sub to him)
Doug's scoring system is basically comparing the Mazda 3 to supercars. Thats why relatively fast cars (for most people) get 1 or 2 on the acceleration score cuz they can't do 0-60 in 3 seconds...
Toyota stopped caring when they shoved a Subaru engine in the GT86. Now they have a re skinned BMW as their halo car.. Mazda is the only manufacturer that I've seen put so much effort in car dynamics and optimizing the chassis. Mazda still stands by their philosophy that driving the car is the experience, not the distractions from infotainment systems and other "cool" accessories. And from my experience Hyundai and Honda are the only other two that care about this as well, not to the same extent but still.
helloworldinthenet Honda got complacent, Hyundai is hungry for market share. Aggressive pricing, 10year warranty and customer care is how they have decided get it. They are what Honda use to be.
I totally agree - Mazda should have way more sales than it actually does. Toyotas and Hondas are decent cars, but Mazdas are great cars! When it comes to caring, I do think Hyundai/Kia deserve a runner-up mention though, the quality and desirability of all of their recent cars and crossovers is very high and still rising, with accolades well-deserved. They no longer compete on price (although they still remain a good value) and with each new model the gap closes to the point where I would choose many of their vehicles over some other established brands, such as Nissan, Ford, anything GM, etc.
Saw this review yesterday. Heavily impressed with the clear technical details. Went and bought the 2019 Blue Mazda 3 sedan GLS with luxury package [Canada] . Never been in such a polished looking interior at this price range or above. Both front and rear. What struck me most during the test drive was the superb driving position. I am 6 feet tall and I felt like I was sitting outside on the bonnet of the car with a full view of the road. Knew exactly where my front left and right part of the car were. The front wind shield has superb visibility. Driving dynamics is insane, especially merging on freeways, quick acceleration and braking. Already test drove the 2020 Corolla LE [ which has a smoother back seat ride with multi link suspension but the car lacks soul ] and I was going to test drive the Civic EX model later. Skipped the test drive. Bought the 3 immediately. So much soft touch components . The interior is a piece of art. You get transformed into an aspirational vehicle as opposed to a point A to point B utility compact sedan. Well done Mazda and great review Savage.
@@ztekz Tell me about it man. Own the 2017 GT Hatch, got it brand new. I still love to look at it especially after a wash, and it drives superbly for what you pay for. Honestly, all Mazda need to do, is throw a powerful and reliable motor into this amazing chassis and I guarantee it will sell like hotcakes.
I have owned my 2019 preferred for three years now, and as car prices have soared through 2022 I have come to appreciate it much more. When I catch a glimpse out of my office window or in my garage, it still brings a smile to my face. I have returned to watch this video over the years to hear Savagegeese talk about my car. Just want to say thank you for taking the time to make this video.
I just bought the fwd yesterday. I test drove both but the AWD was heavier (8%), more sluggish. The fwd felt much more like my 2nd gen hatch that I love. Just an fyi. If you don't need awd (I'm in the northeast, just get good winter tires) don't do it
@@sappyjohnson yeah, and AWD shouldn't replace winter tires anyways. Go for the car you'll love driving 95% of the time rather than when AWD is needed 1% of the time. Trust me, FWD is the way to go.
I sold Mazdas for a couple years back in 2014 as well as Fords. Mazda is such great value for money it's insane. One aspect of their engineering that never gets enough credit was their ability to achieve great mpg without totally sacrificing performance. No matter what trim level you bought it was always a fun car to drive with a lot of passion. Happy to see them only getting better
Super reliable cars with nice style. They’ve suffered when it comes to MPG though. I remember the initial Skyactiv Mazda 3s got 40mpg on the Highway. Now, it’s in the low 30s.
Goddamnit...and I am immediately suggested the Doug DeMuro "review" of this car immediately after. It's like watching a pre-schooler's review after seeing this video.
For those wondering: I've had the 2019 AWD Preferred hatchback for almost a year now and after 20k miles I love it just as much as I did brand new. No issues with the car other than recalls which have all been taken care of in a timely manner for free and a free loaner was available by the dealership. It's also worth noting that none of the recalls have personally affected me. I average about 30mpg (32 or 33 in good weather) per tank on 40% city and 60% highway. Cylinder deactivation has not caused any issues or concerns. It's seamless and I firmly believe it helps you get a consistent average regardless of driving habits and variability of lengths and speeds of trips. If you learn to utilize cylinder deactivation (i.e. understand how/when it activates and purposely driving to encourage it), getting mid 30s shouldn't be hard at all. The AWD and traction control work very well and give you the sure footedness feeling you want in snow, rain, and dirt even at highway speeds (although the stock tires are crappy so I'm waiting for them to wear out so I can get nicer ones). It also does let you play in the snow if you turn off the systems and sends enough power to the rear to power slide. The electronic systems work as expected for an economy car with some luxury touches such one touch up and down for all four windows, walk away auto lock, and the mirrors auto tilt down in reverse if enabled. You also have lots of customizable options for the safety and car systems as well as the ability to make the heated seats automatically controlled by the climate control. The two position memory for seats/stereo/aircon can be linked to a specific fob if you like. The Bose stereo and infotainment is really nice. Sometimes I wish I had a touchscreen when using Android Auto but for the most part I've gotten used to the wheel and it is easier to do while driving. The sound quality itself it amazing and impressive for the price point. More bass than most people need, more fine tuning and adjustments for the settings as well as turning off the Bose features and having standard processing if desired. Rear seats are comfortable and fine for kids and adults in short trips. I don't expect adults to road trip back there. Having individual seat belt indicators is nice for people who have kids and want to make sure they are strapped in. Trunk is usable and fine for most things, technically it's a good amount of space but it's not a lot of depth so expect to pile or stack things. Folding down the seats does give you plenty of storage space. Power and dynamics are pretty well balanced. In the Northern Midwest we don't have as high speed limits on our highways, our roads are also not the smoothest. In terms of daily driver economy car it is on the firm side and while there isn't turbo or torque surge down low, it does a great job or being economical and reasonably powerful for it's size. Being a larger engine it does sound more natural and less gratey than say a 1.5T. the six speed is tried and true, doesn't hunt for gears and after a few thousand miles it gets to know you pretty well and works seamlessly. Sport mode offers quicker throttle response, holds gears nicely, and adds more engine breaking which in turn adds more stability in corners. As for the rear suspension, my previous car was a Honda with independent suspension. It has its pros and cons, it was great new but over the years it was worn out and more expensive to replace and get the original feel back after two decades than it was worth. I never did fix it, alas an economy car being eaten alive by rust. Being a simpler setup on the 3 I imagine it'll maintain that factory handling characteristic far longer. Suspension beliefs and bias's aside the suspension works great and allows you to take corners very well. You'll easily take turns at the double speed. At tripple the speed it's a question of tires. And in windy roads getting close to tripple digits you'll experience brake fade and under steer from tires before maxing out the suspension. All in all, as a daily driver this will fit most people's needs without breaking the bank. And for people more used to early 2000 dynamics with their hydraulic steering, linear brake feel, and linear power curve this will be very easy to get used to. Here in the US you'll at least get some exclusivity for the time being unlike a Carrolla or Civic. I plan on keeping this car at least until 100k if not 150k, or like my last car, a Honda, 200k.
@@Rabahsaurus oh trust me, I really really wanted another Accord. The Accord 2.0T Sport with the 10spd is a better drivetrain. Also considered an Accord Hybrid and the Insight because I was commuting really far pre-covid. But when I sat in the Mazda 3 the interior quality blew me away. Sure the civic hatchback and Accord Sport is more powerful at the same cost (this was before the Mazda 3 Turbo was an option) and they both had more space. But the interior felt nice, it seemed to ride quieter, the Bose stereo was a straight knockout, it looked amazing on the outside in person, and the Mazda had luxury touches the Hondas didn't. Like one touch auto up and down windows on all four, standard LED lighting, the Bose stereo has metal speaker grills, frameless auto dimming mirror, the wing mirror tilts down in reverse to help parallel park, blind spot monitor and cross traffic alert was standard, power lumbar, climate control had automatic heated seats, then later on it got Remote Start via Connected Services, etc. But a lot of these features I only came to find and appreciate after the fact. Most importantly at the time of purchase; the seats were more supportive for me, heated seats, it had AWD, and a better stereo at essentially the same cost.
@@djw1091994 Thanks for that In-depth answer! I am looking to trade my car in soon, and have been considering the Accord and the Mazda 3 turbo, Maybe something from Hyundai... but the dealer (current car is Hyundai) is slime. So likely not buying one of those ever again.
@@Rabahsaurus gotcha, well the new l Civic takes a few nods from the Mazda 3 and has the same stereo. The Accord is due to be updated pretty soon here. If you aren't interested in waiting for the next gen then maybe wait until they start rolling out the next gen for a discount on the old models. Or jump to Mazda lol the 3 is still pretty fresh.
Picked one up yesterday - AWD hatch - and averaged 37mpg on the drive home. Thanks for the great review here. It really was helpful in our decision to purchase the vehicle.
James Medina The speed is key . Regulations required auto manufacturers to tune crusing speed lower than national speed limit. This burns more fuel, and also lowers the speed on average, thus lowering the wreck and injury stats as well . Personally I have found another way to get better mpg than going 15+ mph slower than traffic. A 4 stroke engine has a rhythm kinda . It prefers to settle in at certain speeds . Just find the proper place. Like Huckleberry Finn and Tom Sawer said “ You gotta hold your mouth rite to get fish to bite” This individual above told you exactly how he got the maximum mpg. Optimal mpg will be found above the legal speed limit. Probably with Cruz set at about half of the mph maximum mpg is found. 50-55 mph 4 max . 20 mph slower than average speed limit 70mph . At half is 7/8 mph. (. Posted speed ) + 10 mph .
Then you will gain about half of what is lost at 70 . Or 5 mpg. A Lincoln mark viii in standard trim was the best high speed high mpg car that i Know Of. After 70mph using cruise control to gain speed in 2/3 mph intervals at a time by pressing the resume button it gained mpg until about 95 mph . Not much gain only a few mpg . But it didn’t lose any mpg until almost 100 mph . It was long ago , still I am certain. We also got better petro back then as well. Today it’s got a lot of methanol added for some reason. 🤨. Likewise gas treatment for removing water from the fuel system such as ( isoheat) contain mostly methanol. Or wood alcohol. Lower grade fuel . Octane level was about the same. Before then we got real leaded hi combustion petro . In 1967 Regular Gasoline was 118 octane.
Ok, I'm sold. Your analysis of the entire car and the back suspension issue just convinced me to sell my VW Jetta 2.5 and buy a new Mazda 3 as soon as it gets to my country. Your videos are simply amazing! Greetings from Ecuador!
Hola. I only had one Mazda 323 1.4 LX 1985 my first car many years ago and rare in Europe. Sold it and went through brands like Volvo( 2), Peugeot(1), Mitsubishi (2 Galants 2.5 V6) and now a 2009 Mercedes C class estate with couple of issues with it. I went Colombia few times and I saw that old Mazda 323 from 198 something. Is it also on the streets of Ecuador?:D
I do the same, I sell my 2.5 Jetta and bought the new mazda 3 , only thing I did not liked was the rear suspension, is very hard in compare with the jetta, im from Mexico and here we do not have good roads
I was talking my wife away from Toyota because their interiors and ideals have just gone into outer space and disregard customer wants. I wanted to show her the 2019 Mazda 3, because I wanted to get her into something that embraces the driver. A car is something we should be driving, not something that should be trying to distract us from getting to our destination as much as possible. Queue a SavageGeese review. Thank you :)
@@camryt I disagree - my Mazda 3 gives good feedback with electric power steering. Also, my comment includes Toyotas before electric power steering. Going back at least to my parents' 1984 Camry (the first Camry).
@@michaelpolutta3131 well, your experience is lacking then. I'm not going to throw model names around, because you ruling certain sports models out is ridiculous. Also "light", as most steerings in Toyota products are, doesn't mean "lacking feedback". Steering feedback isn't increasing weight. And that's what Mazda steering racks do. Not even BMW steering systems can emulate "feedback", and these are considered "ultimate driving experience" cars.
SG: That door-close shot is not only your new sure-fire signature move, but the most satisfying, aesthetically pleasing thing in automotive content if you ask me. Just brilliant.
(Mechanical) Engineer that I am, boy I sure enjoy your videos, SG, and particularly appreciate your not talking down to your viewers and subscribers. What a refreshing change of pace from the usual presenters, who focus more on fascia than the true nature of the beast: how it delivers a person to a destination, including power handling and balance, to frame-and-stability engineering and tuning. Thank you so much for truly understanding car (and engineering process) enthusiasts. You have helped impart a substantial measure of appreciation of Mazda's automotive engineering vision and inspiration; Mazda has earned my business thanks to you.
You sir have the best review videos! As a fellow vehicle enthusiast I appreciate how you really go in depth with the entire vehicle from top to bottom, the underneath, mechanicals and driving impressions. I’ve watched all sorts of RU-vid “review videos” but yours is on a whole different level. Amazing vidoes! Glad I discovered your channel. Keep up the amazing work.
Both my wife and I came across this video independently while researching the Mazda3. We decided to buy one partially based on this video. Your videos have great detail and are super insightful. I'm now a subscriber and have watched a ton of your videos.
Taylor C wow I love the direction they went. It looks more mature. I have a 2016, it’s cool but looks a little immature to me: this new one looks sophisticated and more expensive than what it costs
Posted five minutes ago. Great way to spend 31 minutes at work! Finally finished watching this after a lot of pauses, and I think this car is styled so well and has amazing features for the price. The price point is pretty much where the current Toyota Corolla (and my current car, 2018 version) sits. I'm impressed and honestly I would consider this as my next car.
Having been a Porsche 911 Carrera owner, and a Miata MX5, and eleven Acura/Hondas , I am now a 2019 Mazda3 owner. My wife wanted this car, I was hoping for a CX5, but you nailed this review, it is an excellent car and great fun to drive. It's not a Porsche, it's not a Miata, nor is it an Acura... but the fun factor is overwhelming. The car I sold to buy the Mazda3 was my 2007 Acura RDX with 320k miles on it. I keep my cars a long time and drive the piss out of them. The very reasons I bought this great little car! Great job on the review, your channel... I am your newest sub, thanks!
He is just a better Mazda salesman than you. Nothing against Mazda - they make beautiful cars but nothing earth-shattering like he wants you to believe.
That says a lot considering most car sales reps know Jack shit about what they sell. You ask them questions, they keep nodding their heads while they’re running the numbers in the computer.
Funny story: I was looking for this video a week ago since my lease was almost up. With no review uploaded yet, I took a leap of faith when I dropped by my local Mazda dealership. After driving the CX-5, the 2019 3 hatch, and then the sedan, I chose the Mazda 3 AWD Sedan in the end. The interior was a huge improvement from my lease (2017 Mazda 3), but I was making a blind decision when it came to the technological and engineering improvements. Thank you for the comprehensive review by explaining what Mazda worked on or improved on. Now I get to drive my 2019 Mazda 3 AWD worry free and knowing that this is SavageGeese approved car. And yes, this time is a finance, not a lease. Cheers to the next 5 years!
Which option set did you purchase. I am buying one of these this weekend and I am debating whether to spring for the real leather seats, moon-roof and fancy lights. Can you comment on the quality of the various seat options?
Thanks. I'm going to do the same. I had an experience several years ago when I bought a car for my wife, went with the middle of the road trim level and then only later learned that the seats in the higher trim were FAR more comfortable. Fortunately she is happy with the seats in her car anyway but I hate them. These seats in the 3 appear to be the same seat in the different trim levels with the only difference being the covering. @@dwei3045
Dwei wow congrats! I have an identical story, also drove CX-5!! I bought one on the 9th of this month and I’m so happy with it, and I’m super thrilled that SG endorses. I turned in a 2016 Mazda 3 lease car. I only put 21,210 miles on it
I bought this car the other day. The interior is amazing for the price point and highway cruising is smooth and comfortable. The wheel layout is coherent with the two speed control buttons on one side. I loved how thought out the car is for the driver. The infotainment screen is actually angled to the driver. I feel like no other affordable car puts this much thought into the driving experience and it shows.
Not even "luxury" cars like the Germans put this much thought into the driving experience. My respect for Mazda has increased 10 fold after seeing this vid.
E A that blanket statement ( “not even luxury cars like the *Germans* “ put this much thought into the driving experience.” ) sounds pretty asinine when the “german” luxury brands includes manufacturers like a Porsche, Mercedes, etc. I don’t see Mazda offering anything remotely close to an AMG GTR or GT3RS. I’m sure your retort will have something to do with the cost difference, or that those are somehow not luxury cars, or some other excuse
J. Elizabeth I would wait for the redesigned 6, the center console area on the 6 is terrible lol. I do like that they added a turbo to the higher trims though
I've had my 2019 Mazda3 for a month now and am loving it. I didn't need the review to know that it is an excellent car, but I thank you for providing such an excellent video and am very happy that you like the car too. Hope you get one!
Did you find the AC not being cool enough in the vehicle or did any passengers in the rear seat complain about not getting enough air? I've heard people mention the air vents not being in a good place for the passengers and also the AC isnt good in hot weather.
Congrats! Have you noticed the turbo-ish sound when you accelerate in 1st gear up to 2nd gear? I cant figure out what it is but it sounds cool. No info or comments on that yet.
This is simply the best car review I have ever seen. We can all watch those 11m reviews that give you all the real basic, but if you really want to spend 20k of your own money this level of detail is super important. Thanks for this review.
Just wanted to say thanks for the in depth review of this great car. I was shopping around for months and finally pulled the trigger and purchased a 2019 Hatch based largely on this review. I found that the only thing I disagree with is that the audio ‘lacks brightness,’ but as you said.. that’s just a preference thing. Your review of the ride quality was spot on and I was able to go into my test drive with a realistic and accurate set of expectations. Ultimately, the vehicle is everything I wanted, exactly what I expected and I could not feel better about my decision. This is a great car all around and this is probably the most accurate review you’re going to find. No pandering, no B.S., no personal agenda.. just an honest and objective review focused on helping the viewer become more informed on the product. Thank You!
I watched this video over a year ago during my last semester of college, back in December 2019. I fell completely in love with this car and I promised myself that when I got a job out of college that I would save up money and buy one new from the dealership. Fast forward to January 2021 and I finally got my dream car! I got the 2021 Mazda3 sedan with the Select package. I've owned the car for a little over a month now and I'm still in love with it. Skipped the AWD version because it's significantly more expensive and because it doesn't snow where I live (San Diego) so AWD seems kinda pointless. Do wish I could've asked for a turbo though!
The car is low so even with AWD its not going to be a beast in deep snow. The benefit is more for people who like to drive even semi hard. Going around a corner in a FWD with good speed feels....bad. If you get used to AWD or RWD then use a FWD car you immediately notice it. The AWD just lets you feel so much more planted to the ground.
Lol I actually remember you complaining about the dead pedal. Which is good because I had tuned out for a few seconds and all the sudden you were licking the floor. I didn’t need to rewind for context.
Seductively mouthing/ licking the left footrest [dead pedal] . You sick bastard. I just love it. He always makes better reviews into the best. Lol. Don't ever stop.
My spouse needs a new vehicle so I told her maybe check out the new Corolla hatch. She asked me "well, what does that angry goose guy say about Mazda's hatch?" She wants your opinion before mine.
What car does she drive now? Both a good. I personally prefer the Mazda interior and hatch design. Visability maybe the only thing she would dislike if she is coming from a bigger car. Its supposed to feel more fitted. Id take the Mazda over the Toyota mainly because I don't need the "sporty" "edginess" of the Toyota and the Mazda feels more refined But both cars are good. If she drives both back to back one will speak to her.
savagegeese thanks. A 2008 CR-V. You brought up a good point about Mazda 3 powertrain being well sorted out by now while Corolla CVT does have a recall.
Your car reviews are in a class all their own. I like your low key, intellectual demeanor. The review of the Mazda 3 is amazingly insightful and knowledgeable. I have been considering purchasing a Toyota, mostly for the bulletproof reliability, but their designs are so bland. The design beauty of the Mazda 3, combined with all the R&D going into it, which your review explains, is making me consider Mazda over Toyota, even if Mazda is not as reliable.
I've had a 2008 Mazda 6, bought in 2009 new. Still alive today and the only thing that has ever gone wrong in it's entire life is that a week ago the electronic motor in the left side mirror stopped working. Other that, no faults whatsoever, still drives the same as when I bought. I also own Toyotas that I bought decades ago. So in my experience, Toyota and Mazda have the same reliability. I also own a 2015 VW minibus. It's dead now and sitting in my yard with grass growing into it.
Wow I just love this channel. The amount of technical details you go into is insane. Helps us viewers get edumacated on some of the key aspects of any vehicle. Thank you.
@@kevinwalsh539 its really a nice car to be in. i love the interior. its quiet, handles great but still comfortable over bumps. i do have to wonder why mazda wouldnt put the 2.5 turbo in here though, and i think for the price of the premium, it should have the turbo. even a de-tuned version of the 2.5t would do wonders for this car, and i think mazda would have a hit. looking back i think the sweet spot with these cars is really in the lower trims. the base hatchback with AWD is really nice and is a really good value IMO. the select sedan is probably an even better value.
I've got the 2018 version and after more than a year of driving it I could say its a well balanced car. I'm very happy with it and I hope to keep it for a long time. Its amazing to see Mazda working on many things with the new generation and I love how you went into details that normal car reviewers wouldn't be able to mention. Thank you so much for this video, can't wait to see what Mazda would do in the next generations of their cars too! Also I had a good laugh when you discovered the dead pedal cover is no longer missing! I fixed mine by going through old cars and finding one that fits for my Mazda 3 for 50 cents.
I recently bought a 2023 Mazda3 Sedan 2.5 S SE FWD. Put almost 1000 miles on it. So far so good. Too bad there’s no manual option for the sedan. Didn’t want to pay 5 to 6 thousand more for the manual hatchback.
Very well done review! I appreciate all the technical information and the beautiful cinematography! I bought a 2010 Mazda 3 for my daughter and I like it, but this is on a whole different level.
Nice. Scotty bitches and moans about any Mazda that's not a Miata. He mistook SkyActiv engines for the older, Ford built engines and he rips on Mazda's automatic transmissions but he doesn't realize that Mazda uses Aisin automatic transmissions now. That's the same company Toyota uses for their automatic transmissions yet he praises them for everything. It's hilarious to see how misinformed Scotty is when it comes to some brands.
Kent - Scotty is okay, but he really displays his ignorance about Mazda when he mentions that his customers have had their “SkyActiv systems” break down. What? What “SkyActiv systems”? He’s said this more than once, too. Maybe he doesn’t know much about the new Mazdas because not enough of them have broken down yet for him to have to work on!
Wow. This car seems PREMIUM. And not your garden variety premium. It's more of a PREMIUM kind of premium. The interior design looks very premium. The body design is also really premium looking. I can't wait to test drive this new Mazda 3. I have a feeling it will be ...premium!
I went to my Mazda dealership over the weekend to see the new 3. I was impressed. I have a 2015 sGT manual and will transition to a new 3 at some point. It's a spectacular car. Great job Mazda!!!
I stumbled upon this channel way back while searching for a review of the previous gen mazda 3. From only 40k subscribers then to more than 200k now, its nice to know that there are that many "premium people" who appreciate premium reviews. Way to go geese!
Great job on explaining how Mazda improved the Bose speakers design in this vehicle over previous generations and how the screen contrast ratio is also improved. As a previous gen Mazda owner, these were the burning questions I had and none of the other videos even touch on the subject. Kudos to you.
I really LIKE how totally DETAILED your review is. Especially all the INTERIOR ERGONOMICS. This really makes or breaks a car for me, how well I interact with the controls, seating, driving position, etc. That's why I drive BMWs, they aren't as flashy as other cars, but every subtle point of DRIVER INTERACTION has been carefully addressed. So much so, they become an extension of your body and you don't have to think about it. This aspect of automotive design is often given much less attention than it deserves - especially in infotainment systems.
Wow! Goose drilled REALLY DEEP ON THE DEETS, and I appreciated every minute of it. Goose didn't drink Mazda's cool aid, but rather - interpreted it for us!
