Real AMG or not, i’m still getting my CLS 53 AMG. i’m coming from a Toyota Avalon... it going to be a Real AMG to me 🤷🏾‍♂️

I understand you've been spoiled by the superfast cars, but for the general audience, this car will still give goosebumps. And you've said a thousand times "not a real amg". Just got a 2020 e53 cab and love it. 37 years old and it’s a great first sports car for a young entrepreneur or go getter. Subtle not flashy for the husband and dad to throw the kids in the back. Fast as shit in full manual and love that it’s full manual and rear bias, esp OFF! Fun f n car... EVEN IF ITS NOT A REAL AMG!! (;

I think its safe to say you like the lack of "B" Pillar...got it. For those in the audience that do not understand the "53" number designation perhaps you can touch on that more and how the change in the electrical system changes how power is delivered. You touched on it...ever so gently in the beginning and towards the end..thanks for the dashboard read out with the charge/power actions. Cheers!

I have the 2018 E400 coupe and while i love it, the lack of a performance exhaust leaves something to be desired.. I will be upgrading to an E53 coupe in 2020 so hopefully it’s a tad bit better than the 19. I test drove the E53 and when I got into my car It was a bit depressing.

Imagine having a sunvisor covering all the side from the front window to back one... This will be mega pass😂😂

You know, I've always liked watching your guys' videos, cause it comes from a young persons' POV, and it seems like you'd be into what I'm into as well. And if you'd be so kind and accept a suggestion, it is knowing the demographics of people that are buying these cars. An average young person just wouldn't be buying this car, so to come from a young person's point of view, just doesn't really make sense. I'm actually looking at this video, cause I'm interested in planning ahead for my new car, and I think most people looking at this category, understands that the new Mercedes now have a middle ground. Where I don't want a full out 63, cause it's too harsh, and I just don't want to be daily driving such an extreme performance car, and that's where these 43 & 53 comes in where I can daily drive it. To non-stop bashing the fact that it's not a real AMG, don't think it's such a good idea. The 43 & 53, already implies that it's midway to 63, and also implies that it's more of the spirit of AMG, where I still get to enjoy the tunes of the exhaust and a little more performance than the 300 or 400. Just another perspective for you is to know your demographics of people that'd be looking at this review. If most people are just watching for entertainment, then, by all means, continue to do what you are doing. I just thought I'd drop a few lines. -Cheers

Nice car, my wife and I had a 2015 C63 AMG edition 507, all motor 6.2 L 507HP for a few years. My only complaint was the steering wheel should have been smaller like the AMG GT S. The AMG GT S was the most bad ass car I've driven.

This engine sound like the freaking R-34 from 2F2F, and I love that. Well, 80%, because the smooth shifting sound isn't that cool

I've got a CLS 53 AMG. While it may not be a "real" AMG. I have to say it is far more drivable compared to the 63 or even the old Benz V8's. Great gas mileage and for city driving its fantastic and far more fun and usable to drive on almost 95% of the situations that you are going to drive in.

If the E400 is that much more comfortable I would probably prefer that, but I also drive 40,000 miles per year. I currently have a 2014 E550 and put soft Conti tires and it’s perfect.

Love the E53 and i will get one very soon, but waiting for performance exhaust to hit UK shores. Great review even though I do not agree on a few points.

Used 2018 E400 Coupe is the way to go. I looked at a C43 Coupe, then the E series & the difference in material quality + creature comforts is huge.

you´ve got to do a review of the 2019 suzuki jimny, the cheapest offroader.

Here’s the deal, the 53 cars are badass for a midrange AMG. I wasn’t a fan on the 43, 45, 450 cars but these are what a midrange AMG should be. The turbo inline 6 with the electricity is as cool as it gets without a V8. I’ve owned two M156 cars and this would be the first mid tier AMG I’d be quite interested in purchasing. It’s a real amg in my opinion. Why? Because of what it brings to the table. That engine alone sounds more GTR/Supra than those cars do today. Those were midrange supercars when they were at their finest and that compliments this a lot, a mid range AMG. Well done

I ordered one for stock for my dealer for 2020..selenite grey on black/red interior.. Those wheels are summer tires so I do one size down and all seasons... I like the 53 engines.. The f1 cars are 6 cylinder turbo w/hybrid assist also..needs to start louder though.. For 2020 a 63 amg can start with exhaust open if you hold the left paddle when you hit the start button

Very late to the comments here, but that just proves that TSP is achieving their goal of being the best repository for cars out there. Love it! I also love that Jakub didn't hide his opinion. So many reviews are all glowing, every time, and seem fearful of offending the manufacturers. Also, the balance of what you guys enjoy or don't enjoy in each car is what makes this the best show. This review is great for me. Still seemed like a very cool car for a segment that doesn't want the full amg dream car, and very compelling. Digging that 6 cyl exhaust note and body shape!

You both are right! The E400 was the perfect cruising coupe, but I'd never say no to more power and the AMG tuned exhaust. Black on black generally sucks on MB vehicles as opposed to the contrast interiors. Well done as usual!

Like most couples, there can have ups and downs. They'll be fine... Even on their "B" game, they are 95% more entertaining than most car reviewers!

SoftRoseforYou It might not be a real AMG but it does have a lot of AMG parts. It has the AMG enhanced engine with EQ boost, AMG performance 4 matic plus all wheel drive, AMG Speedshift TCT 9 speed transmission, AMG Dynamic select, AMG drive unit, AMG sports suspension based on air body control, AMG Performance braking system, AMG 20 inch wheels, AMG performance steering wheel in Nappa leather and AMG sport exhaust system. I have the 2021 AMG E53 Sedan and I love it for the looks and the performance. I would pick the E53 for better performance and better gas mileage.

You guys missed the light up ac vents that change color when you increase (red) or decrease (blue) ac temps. The e400 didnt have that. Also I'm glad jakob picked the e400 over it - so glad i have one of these :)

B pillar is the best no doubt! As a bmw fan and owner, I wish the 4 & 8 series had B pillars... love this car, it seems more useable as a daily car than the 63

The new A35 is also "not a real amg" by your standards and it has: * Supersport display setting * Launch control So the above are just apparently missing in this e53...

Jacob seemed a bit unhappy in this one. Unsure if it was just the car being underwhelming or has Tim Hortons banned TSP? I think the car is understated compared to other *real* AMGs, love the pillar-less style personally
