It's so great to see how young, but recognized Hutchinson, Sanristil, Haskins were and how they'd grown in the years leading up to the eventual dismantling of their biggest foe. That's what college is all about
It certainly was. I was at the game, and it looked bad in "real time," but when they showed it in slow-mo on the big screen? I mean...what was there, exactly, besides ABSOLUTELY NOTHING?
Was at the game. Didn't matter who or why they threw the towels in the 2nd half. They threw it at refs, they threw it at ND players, they threw it at Michigan players, they threw it because they're angry, they threw it because to celebrate, etc. That game was an entertaining spectacle and I loved every single moment.
Duneedon possibly. I wasn’t really aiming I was just picking them up off the ground and chucking them. It is likely the one that covered the camera came from me
Do you think these kinds of wins keep Jim employed? Like, he'll prob still lose to OSU, but had he also lost to Notre Dame he prob would be fired soon right?
Oh looks it's the Ohio State fans that are bums that have nothing better to do with their worthless life's but troll Michigan fans pages. Proof that life sucks in Ohio
Benjamin Behnke you still alive from dodging those bullets in Detroit? city burn down yet? Go drink some flint tap water. the OSU rivalry is over bum. ANOTHER ass beating. Jesus lmao
Truthfully the big ten is relentless year after year.. Nebraska when the first joined had most of there starters after taking number 2 the year before in the big 12 where ranked top 10 in the nation was expected to walk all over the big ten there first year but they played osu, michigan, penn state, michigan state wisconsin there first year in they lost 3 of those games one to michigan was a real wake up call for a lot of sports announcers about big ten regular season games and line ups you really dont want to have ND wouldn't be able to handle it them selves. Go Michigan go blue and sure as hell go big ten.
@p o p t a r t Young is definitely more of an athletic freak who has the highest ceiling of the three but you'd be hard pressed to find a player who gives as much effort and plays with as much intensity as Chase. Aidan has a much higher upside and he plays a different position plus his style of play is vastly different than Young or Winovich who are pass rush specialists. Hutch plays the anchor spot so he has the most responsibility of any defensive player outside of the viper in Brown's system.
p o p t a r t , what does that have to do with literally anything? Honestly i think chase young is overrated, he cant do nothing against good o lines, ya he has a good amount of sacks but i mean alot of em are against awful teams.
One of the best sights ever is see a team that you’ve been a fan of your whole life crush a team that you’ve hated your whole life while the refs are trying to make you question your life.
Oh my God. I've watched the game and the tape over and over again, and I never noticed that until you mentioned it! Wow, I'm getting old! (But then again, what's Kirk's excuse!) GO BLUE!
As big a massacre as this game was , the lopsided final score could have been far worse but for that UM threw in a bunch of second, third and 4th stringers to allow ND a meaningless garbage time score. It was that big of a slaughter. MICHIGAN WAS FASTER, speedier, quicker, harder hitting, more intelligent, more physical, more poised, better coached, and tougher than ND. What a total wipe out; an embarrassing slaughter by Michigan over hapless ND. ND seemed to actually quit in the end which is inexcusable .
@Tyler Haraf heh heh but we are better than ND. Enjoy your masochistic 14 year wait to "try" again to get revenge on the Michigan MASTERS ....of course your a. d. At ND SUCKS so bad in his incompetence that in setting up the next game , it will be in the Big House! Heh heh. Tee hee.
@@jakesolheim1671 Absolutely . THE CORRUPT pro nd ref called off a clear UM interception that dumb Ian book threw and replays clearly showed the ball should have been turned over to UM . ND got an undeserved break on the drive and scored which is why UM fans to this day mock ND by saying the Spinellis Pancake game massacre was 45-7 and not the almost just as bad 45-7 Embarrassed and humiliated low self esteemed damesters hate thus but rough rocks. As for your point, you are of course right , the final score could easily have been at least 52 to zero but for Michigan mercifully put in its second third and dime 4th stringers and ND got a mere one true honest but meaningless td in garbage time. The Spinellis Pancake game massacre over overrated, choking, favored Notre Shame still sticks in their evil Damester craw. Glorious!
Series Record: 25-17-1. Michigan has won 7 of the last 11. Largest margin of victory: 38 points (both 38-0 Michigan wins in 2003 & 2007). Most points scored: 47 (Michigan W 47-21 in 2006). Good riddance, assholes.
If you think that's bad, UMs lopsided series leads over ND in the other 3 men's major sports of baseball, hockey and basketball are just as lopsided in mighty Michigan's favor over hapless ND which has caused Damesters to become brain damaged and to whizz down their trousers just at the sight of their maize and blue Michigan MASTERS.
Didn't take long for Michigan arrogance and feeling of superiority to return. The fact Michigan has won only one co-championship in 71 years still has no impact on their feelings of superiority.
The EXPECTATIONS are too high given players recruited. ND, as a program, recruits kids who are really students rather than prepping for professional football careers. ALABAMA CLEMSON OKLAHOMA OREGON do otherwise. ND was savvy joining a basketball-first collegiate conference. And just playing a partial ACC schedule hides ND is annually at best a mid top 40.program.
It's amazing that with so much wind and rain that both teams did as well as they did with the passing and just being able to hold onto the ball. Tomorrow's forecast for AA is for similar weather and let's hope Michigan can play tOSU as well as they played in this game, that is ON FIRE!
Team Jesus as an OSU fan, it's our job. Just like it is for you to talk crap to us. Don't be butt hurt, it's part of the fun. That's what makes it a rivalry. But I can say I am glad that you guys sent home the annually overrated ND home crying. I may hate ND more than UM. Good job defending the B10.
After watching the second half of the Penn State game, and how close we came to coming all the way back, I was hoping we'd finally got the offense near to where we want it. We got three games to get it down solid before 'The Game' in November. Ohio State is a great team but I am beginning to believe we will have a chance!
Herbstriet: "Gotta see Patterson get the ball out on the perimeter a bit, not much happening in the middle" Next play goes for 30 up the middle. Genius
Was at this game. It was so much fun. The towels being thrown was hilarious. Unfortunately we had a bench pad stolen, I’m guessing the ND fans behind us ;).
With Don Browns defense....you will lose. He is no where as good as Clemson's Brent Venables... But because of Michigan's brand name he receives more press. Michigan will never win championships with Browns defense. I guess it will win against better than average teams such as N.D. in storm conditions which slows offenses down.
I got 2 buckeye firefighter brothers I work with. They good dudes. Respect to y'all boys y'all have a squad to his year. Y'all should make noise in the CFP
This was a really dominant defensive performance. Michigan clearly watched a ton of film prior to this matchup, and they had ND's number all game long.
No Don Brown's defense works when a soggy field can slow down the crossing routes and give his defensive line a better chance to get to the QB. N.D. may have won this one on a dry turf.
4 offensive lineman drafted off Michigan’s o line including 1st round pick Cesar Ruiz. This game is the biggest reason why this happened. National broadcast where Michigan’s oline dominated. Massive holes opened
This was the most complete offensive line Michigan has fielded in some time. Man is a sight to see the interior oline blow their assignments off the line.
Not even a Wolverine fan, I went to Stanford but DAMN Michigan took Notre Dame to the woodshed that game. That was grown men vs boys. That year, they tossed around a good MSU team in their home as well Volverine Devotee. We just need to see the $1,000,000 question, can Harbaugh and the Wolverines, get past the hump and beat Ohio State? Only team to actually bet Urban Meyer's team twice, was the other team in Michigan, Michigan St, with coach D and those killer defenses. That is what you need, the no fly zone, in order to beat them, shut down their passing game and have good line backers so when the quartrback takes off, you can blast him and run a 4-3, delayed blitz spy. That was grown men vs boys.
Charbonnet would later become first team All American RB at UCLA, Haskins would later play in the NFL after scoring 5 TDs in final game vs arch rival Ohio State University, and rb Blake Corum would later become first team All American rb. The entire UM offensive line would play in the NFL and their DL would feature several future All American players and or NFL DL. Thus, the massacre of Notre Dame 45-7 ( in reality) in what is now known as the UM" Spinellis Pancake Game Massacre" . DL Aidan Hutchinson would later finish 2nd in Heisman voting his senior year ; a year he deserved the award.
For me, the run by Haskins (15:52) was THE play of the game. The momentum seemed to be shifting a little, after that FUCKING AWFUL pass interference call on Hudson and the ND touchdown. But that run right there was the backbreaker, as far as I'm concerned. Michigan answered, and the rout was on from there.
The Wolverines destroyed the Irish, they were just not as physical on either side of scrimmage. Notre Dame should join the American Conference, it is the only conference they could dominate to have a chance at the final four playoff.
You know that scene in the Blues Brothers where there's the country bar and it doesn't matter whether they're doing good or bad, the audience keeps throwing the bottles? That's the Michigan student section with their towels. Notre Dame scores? Throw 'em. Michigan scores? Throw 'em.
@14:30 One of the worst calls I've ever seen. That ref is either on the take or an ND fan. With the obscene amount of favor the refs give ND they have no excuses for not winning 11+ a year. They by far get the most phantom calls of any team in college football. I watch the games with my brother in law, an ND grad, and it is absolutely absurd week in and week out. Calls like this PI are regular.
