You can buy the dipstick on Amazon if you want to. Or you can be precise measuring what fluid comes out and replacing exact amount after.

I think we used 3 or 4 bottles.

If you cut the cap, make sure that pieces don’t get stuck in the tube.

I had the same problem ! Went and bought a 4 in long 3/32 flat head screw driver it worked the first time usring it

I don’t know the factory fill amount. The dipstick tube is high enough that if you’re worried about water intrusion there…you already submerged about half the car and have bigger problems.

that's because there's a bottom drain plug and then 2 more plugs on the side, one to fill ( probably for the guys unable to get the dipstick out ) and one acts as an overflow. When warmed to temp you put in oil until it comes out, leave it slow to a dribble then reinsert the other plug.. Subaru has basically the same setup.

I don’t know about the fluid counter. As for the red fluid, the owner says they’ve never had this serviced before but I’m guessing they had someone service it and forgot. Hopefully the red fluid was some kind of CVT fluid because it didn’t look like the NS-3 at all.

So one can use valovine cvt on this rogue?

Some people use Valvoline CVT fluid but it’s NOT recommended. The Nissan NS-3 fluid is best.

Stick with OEM

I never found a need for it. Maybe if you’re approaching 200k miles.

There are a couple magnets in the pan and a filter you can clean that is bolted to the car. If the filters aren't cleaned, they won't catch metal shavings and keep them from floating around and messing things up. I wouldn't clean them every time, bit they do need to be cleaned.

Depends on the filter. The one in the pan not so much.. On some models like my 2019 Rogue however, there is an external CVT filter that should be changed.. 4 10mm bolts hold it on. Three easy to get at, one naturally not so much..

@@Sounga74 Yeah............... dealers would love for you to buy their branded oil. Of course they don't make it. Any CVT N3 oil will be OK... Valvoline is hard to argue against. Big thing is to change it.

@@ngzcaz i get what you mean , for example i use Honda Cvt transmission fluid while in my other car is use Redline ATF
