Love this series. And I was ecstatic to this this video, I missed it initially somehow. I run a 7k lb (Max weight loaded) toy hauler with my 2019 ram limited with 3.21 gears. Seeing this video has alleviated some of the concerns I had about towing that much weight with my truck. Particularly since I’ll be traveling from PA Tennessee in just a couple of days for vacation. Thank you very much for the content.

Hey man I truly appreciate your video. I am going to be putting my 15' 1500 to work pretty soon and I am thinking about going with a gooseneck dump trailer over a bumper pull because of the sag. Im getting some better springs for the back end, replacing my shocks, better brakes and rotors to handle the load, maybe getting air bags. Will see after I see how it tows with new springs and shocks. I have an s&b intake, flowmaster 40 (I forgot) , catch can, 3.92 gears. Will probably make a youtube channel once I have my set up to show reliability to anyone else out there that cant afford to move up to a 3/4 or 1 ton truck.

I've towed 150k miles with my 2015 GMC Sierra Double Cab 4x4 5.3 6spd and Firestone Ride Rite air bags for 6 years now with 0 issues. I pull a 7k 7x16 hitch style enclosed trailer with brakes. Here is what I've done to make my truck better than a 2500 for towing. Upgraded the front brake lines to stainless steel Upgraded the brake pads to powerstop severe duty pads Superchips 93 octane tow tune. I put it back to stock when not towing and drive on 87 octane Gets 11mpg towing around 5k total Gets 9-10mpg towing 7k lbs total Gets an average of 18mpg when not towing with AFM off and tune on. K&N drop in air filter Trans temp varies from 190 to 212. Highway to around town stop and go towing Stock 3.42 gears Upgraded the tires to Cooper At3 load range D Upgrades the shocks to Billstein 5100's. Silver/Black ones. Much more stable ride that Rancho's when towing. Handle weight better.

Get yourself some headers, but keep the CATS and sensors obviously. Those hemi engines have so much potential.

I have this exact pickup. Is this the stock Air Suspension? Is the stock Air Suspension more of a ride angle feature, or a towing feature?

Very nice, now that you have started the 5th wheel gooseneck for 1500 trucks. The dealerships are going to spin their wheels, possibly adding it to some up coming Gen trucks. Been incoming the real truck reviews 👍🏽

What was the ford's engine ecoboost or 5.0

I had a 2015 Longhorn with air ride and I loved it in summer, but in the Canadian prairies winters it was an absolute pile of crap I couldn't go more than 3 days in minus 20F without it freezing up and knocking the fillings out of my teeth. I traded it in for a 2020 Longhorn with standard suspension and the new ecodiesel. The worst fuel mileage was towing my 34 1/2 foot double slide 2008 Keystone Sprinter 311bhs at 8500lbs in a March blizzard with 60 mph gusts from Edmonton Alberta to Winnipeg Manitoba and I still managed to get 13.75mpg with it. It's not for everyone but I have cold started it in -40°f weather when some clown decided to unplug it and it was unplugged for 11 hours (the hotel owner looked at his security camera to see who did it because the clown unplugged over 20 vehicles that night) and I'm impressed with that. I'm glad your air ride has been trouble free.

Been looking at down sizing from my 1 ton diesel. Looking at this same truck. All I pull is a can am x3 max so about 1900lbs. Been debating if it would be a comfortable tow up the mountains in az. From phoenix to flagstaff. With a bumper pull

U regret not getting the eco diesel? With this many miles plus towing u could have paid off the extra 3k 5x over

I have to say that these videos have been really informative. Always can’t wait to see what’s new with what you do and would love to see more towing since I’m trying to understand it myself. I’m new to owning a truck since I’ve only had cars my whole life. Recently got my dream truck which is a 2021 Limited 1500. I have to admit that I’m not all that clear about towing and I was wondering about my truck. I have 3:92 rear axle ratio, max payload of 996, and max towing of 10,896. Looking at getting an 28ft airstream with hitch weight of 899 and max trailer capacity of 7,600. Will this work? Thanks again for everything.

This is fantastic, but now I have no leverage in convincing my husband that I need to upgrade my truck if we get a gooseneck horse trailer. He is very thankful! 😂

After adding the k&b cold air intake I could get about 23 on the highway without towing

The squat compare is bs. Ram limited has air suspension that raises it up. U can put air bags on ford.

What's the rear gear ratio?

Great video but man that truck was way over its limits. 7,100 lbs is the gvwr. So you only had about 600 lbs to play with on payload. Being generous I'd say you were at 1000lbs min of payload and 1000 over on the tow capacity. I don't Jude what others do but you're in for a legal nightmare if you ever wreck since you've posted all the trucks stats and capacities in the past. I'm glad to see the trucks that capable and continues to hold up well. I'm on my 2nd 5th Gen now. Had a 19 laraime and traded up to a 21 limited. The mpg while towing is very shocking with the hemi. Even against other half tons that are normally more efficient.
