Good morning Sir, it always amazes me going to blacksmith and farrier get togethers, how noisy and unstable some people leave their anvils. I understand that mobile units or anvils that get moved around are not as easy to quiet down and get super secure but it would drive me nuts. Very good video though sir, always nice to see a group together learning and helping others

Thanks for giving all of us a look around the conference. After watching this video and the challenge video, it seems to me that you should put on a demonstration on how to quiet your anvils. 😉 Sounds like there were definitely some ringers there!

I really like seeing stuff like that. I am most definitely not an artist, so seeing those frames was really neat. That's the kind of stuff I would never even think to try making even though looking at it I can see how good they would be as practice pieces. The best part, though, was the end where you swept the floor. So many people ask me about making knives and I tell them all that they'd better first be good at sweeping the floor. Everyone starts with the basics and moves up from there, imo.

That anvil they started using about 5 minutes in was ringing like crazy, they need to watch your video on how to quiet that sucker. It looks like a great time, I need to find out if I have anything like that local to me.

I see a lot of knees and calves in the mix, take it long pants aren't a big safety issue since the work is usually waist height? And is this a re-upload? Some shots are like deja Vu.

Looks like you figured it out. But just in case, we charge a dollar for a ticket, then you place your ticket in the cup next to the item you would like to win. The items are all donated and the money raised goes to our scholarship fund

Steve - form a group. I'm constantly amazed at how many smiths I discover in my immediate area, some are members of the state organization but many are just going their own way sort of on their own.

I rely on the outstanding generosity of all the youtube presenters to give me guidance as I learn the craft.
