Thing people are not getting about the bike is the character of it. Its got no vibes as a single which is a plus. Frame designed by the No1 frame makers in the UK. Ive owned bikes from 50cc to 1300, single to 6 cyl some of which i liked but the Himmie puts a smile on your face every time you go for a ride out. When you want a Tea break, it won't be a quick 5 minutes cause everyone wants to know what it is and like.
Nice honest review, love these owner reviews. I see the Abs, fuel injected model is now available in Oz going by the R/E website selling for $7490, so only a $500 price increase which doesn't seem too bad.
wasn't available when I bought mine a month back but if I was buying now i'd buy fuel injected/abs way before carby job for just $500 more. ive had 15 enfields and the efi models are extremely reliable
I didn't know you have a Himalayan too! Now I'm really curious. With all the new acquisitions, are you building a bike museum, or starting a tour business! To find out I'll have to hit the bell and keep watching..
thought about the 310 a few months back and again prior to this unit. have to travel a bit further to get one of those. I had a look at my instrument housing and I think mine is fully electronic housing.
Yeah, my himi speedo is smooth as butter. That's weird as hell. Check your front caliper bolts Warro, one of mine came too short from the factory(i have a 2019 too, late season production. clearly issues are still on the line)
For the price I think they're good enough value, I liked the riding position and overall feel of the bike. Apparently the carbie version had issues at high altitudes, no problems with that here in Aus Lol. The dealer was telling me we're getting fuel injection in the near future, comes with a $2,000 price hike as well!
yeah I could try it up on mt canobolas...lol but that's as high as I can get around here. I think from past experience if I had to pay $2K more I would recommend the new 2019 honda cb500X
@@ridewithwarro I would agree on that price point recommendation. I got a '19 cb500x a couple of months ago...it's one sweet machine. I;m 59 and have owned many bikes over the years and the cb is one of my favorites.
you probably bought one after watching my review on one...lol I bought one from the very first batch which came in earlier this year-ran it for 1500 klm sold it to a subscriber -Hello John- great bike and bought a new Triumph Street Scrambler which I have not ridden that much.
Ljoel McHanley; been thinking of getting the CB 500X myself. I’m 58 and over the years have owned quite a few bikes. Haven’t ridden on the road now for about seven years and want to get back out there. On a recent trip to England I watched an old bloke who looked ninety slowly make his way back to his bike after paying for fuel. I thought, this is nuts, I’m wasting good riding years, as you’d know you never get bloody bikes out of your system. The CB 500X seems the perfect all rounder.
I wouldn't pay $9k for the fuel injected version and remember ive had 15 of them new...lol i'd pay $7k for this but its not a $9K bike-just saying as ive owned both 019 models
@@ridewithwarro Hi from the UK ,yeh you need to get that clock replace mate it should not do that, my himi clock is steady , iv known this to happen to others and they had it replaced under warranty , glad your liking the bike if find it has loads of character and fun to ride happy riding
Strange that it's not EFI. I thought the new models were. Be prepared for everyone coming up to you when you stop. The Himalayan is so different to most and questions will be asked. Nice easy ride and will be interesting to see what you think when on gravel
