G does a wonderful job, smooth and slow so we can actually view things. To work with the village, all the business owners, village people, it really takes everyone and seems like everyone pulls together for this event. Love seeing all the quilts outside of all the business store fronts. You live in such a great place. The village is alive. So many little villages these days are deflated compared to your village. Thank you both for this peek into your world.
Wow! What a glorious day to have the quilt show.. What wonderful and creative quilters were shown. What a great way to have people explore your town of Sisters. Thanks for sharing. Maybe one day I can see this show in person. I am in awe of such talented sewists .
OMG!!!! I love this quilt show and have watched Quilt Roadies for a few years now. I feel that I know Anne and G in person. They are great at filming. What a personality she has. She shows the quilts up close and the vendors, etc. I don't like traveling by myself or I would get there for the next show. I live in in Arizona two hours from Tucson and 35 minutes from Tombstone, "The town too tough to die". Far but not that far. Tombstone has a wonderful quilt show. too. See ya sometime.
Thanks so much for sharing . All the quilts are amazing . Such a huge number and oh what a mammoth job getting them all hung up. I think a trip to America and Sisters needs to be on the bucket list just to see this quilt show. I'm so glad the weather behaved for you. Wow! the amount of organisation needed to put that together . You must have a great team of people.
I was pleased to see near the beginning an appliqué quilt from Jan Patek’s Across the Wide Missouri. I appliquéd a lot of those blocks when camping so it’s on our bed in our camper. The book also has fun stories about pioneer women which makes it nice to have just to read.
Anna, you are so awesome. Thanks for sharing. It's funny how it just brings me right back to when I was kid, visiting my Uncle in Sister's. It reminds me of all the insane quilts my Aunt made as well. I feel like we lost an amazing artist when she stopped quilting. Lots of warm fuzzy feelings watching this.
Thank you so much for this!! What a treat to be able to enjoy this even if you can’t make it in person-all best from a very happy quilt show groupie in the Boston area!
I was sorry I didn’t get to meet you at the show. We weren’t quite ready to leave and we didn’t want to lose our parking spot to go to the meeting place. I did see you in the morning at the hanging of the quilts but you looked busy already! I love your video! I thought I saw everything but I see some that I don’t remember, and they look even better through the lens. It was a lovely day and weeks. This was our second quilt show and we will be back. I loved the teachers tent as well. Nice respite from the mountain sun and some lovely quilts.
Anna IJust found your youtube channel. you make me laugh and inspire me. Thank you for the Quilt Show as I sit at my table in Michigan. I look forward to the next one!!
What a fabulous quilt show!! You should all be very proud of this show. What a wide variety of styles, techniques and fabrics. Thanks for sharing this, Anna. Is all that fantastic guitar music up front compliments of G?? Tell him I loved it and it's great to stitch to! Hugs from Canada!!
Wow. What an amazing display of personalities. I do appreciate the talents and skills of the people that have made all these quilts but I was surprised by how few of them I really liked.
yes...it is a show that everyone gets to enter and everyone gets a ribbon. The wide variety gives us all a chance to be moved by those that we love and oh well...I won't be making that one, lol I truly love that everyone gets their 15 minutes of fame :)
Wonderful show! Coming to Oregon in September from the Uk - can't wait! Pity I have missed the quilts but will make up for it in the shops! Keep up the good work Anna and Gee. Janet UK.
Quilt Roadies Flying into Portland on 4th Sept 1 week in Bend / Sisters and surroundings then on to Yellowstone NP. I hope to spend time in quilt shops whilst my husband goes fly fishing! Itinerary still to be finalised. JA.
I slowed the video and even paused a few times to really enjoy the art and talent of the quilt makers. The next time I watch I'll play it at the regular speed so I can enjoy the music at the tempo that the musician intended. Thank you Anna and G!
Love 💕 ❤️ Love 💗 Love ❤️ It! I wish i knew how to quilt. Having grandmoms to pass down that must have been so fun. I teach my granddaughter to make jewelry and music. Id love to take classes with her. Give her and I something we can learn together would be fun. Ladies and Gents having fun. And that neighborhood main-street Looks like Heaven in America. I’m so drawn to the look and old time feel.
When you are someone like me who live in the Uk and can’t make it to this amazing show, it’s so wonderful for you take the time to show all the quilts Part 1 and 2 were as everyone is saying WOW WOW WOW and not to forget G wonderful music . Thank you Jan S Wales Uk
I hope I can, it would be so nice to meet you! You seem like such a nice a happy person, I love watching your videos your always laughing and smiling!! And I love everything that you do!!!
I couldn’t tell you how many times I said “oh my goodness “ to myself ..those quilts just blew me away. Even the ones that aren’t my cuppa tea I appreciate the skill that’s gone into making them. Loved yours Anna. Thank you so much for sharing...now I gotta go and watch the video again just encase I missed something. 😘💐👋
Anna & G Thank you for this. Seeing all those intricate pieced quilts is such a display of talent. Then seeing some of the simpler made quilts in which the choice of fabrics makes them stunning and very appealing is such a joy. I really appreciate the generosity of ye both in sharing these videos, We do not have anything like this is my country.
Thanks Anna for the tour. The quilts were all beautiful. Also a thanks to G for the wonderful music that accompanied this video. See you in the next video.
Oh my! So many beautiful quilts. Thanks so much for sharing this. Enjoyed it very much. Music was great also. I needed this today . Looking forward to part 2.
That was inspiring and so fun! Love quilt show and haven’t yet gotten to Sisters for this one, until now with your fabulous video❣️. Thank you so much!
Thanks for sharing your video of the Sisters Quilt Show 2019. I came from Iowa to see the show and I was not disappointed. The people of Sisters are wonderful. Everyone we met was kind and courteous and fun. And so many beautiful quilts. There is about a 6 second clip of me and my Quilting BFF from California in your video. 🥰 It was such a memorable day. ❤️
Thank you both for this fabulous video. I’m so happy I get to go next year!! For other stopovers I’d love to know where the boondocking is that you mentioned in one of your comments. I’ll be staying in a house with other quilters during the show next year. Hubby is staying home.
Thank you Anna & G for sharing this video. I missed seeing so many on my stroll through Sisters. I also missed the Teacher's Tent... Something to look forward to for Next year.
Thank you, Anna, for sharing. After your blog about the quilt show I had hoped you'd share it on Quilt Roadies! I've enjoyed all your build up videos and day of videos. You live in a beautiful area, made delightfully colorful for a day by many talented and inspiring quilters. Loved the bear! Enjoy your journeys.
Thank you so much for sharing this show. They didn’t have the local show this year at the strawberry festival, I was really looking forward to it. How do they keep the quilts from getting stolen? So many fabulous quilts!
Thank you so much for sharing all the beautiful quilts that were in this show. I have to ask is it a juried show to get in? Can anybody try to show a quilt? I noticed people were touching the quilts. Is this normal for a show like this. It wasn't everyone just a few. I'm thinking you'd have to wash your quilt after this show?.? Thank you again!
Thank you so much for all the great videos of the quilt show! Your quilt was very cute Anna! I also liked the one by Sarah Fielke "Love makes the world go round" in black, gray and red. Is G your video man, or do you have to stop looking and "work"? Thanks again. Love it!
We are high desert mountain so if it rains this time of year it is usually in the afternoon and we take the quilts down as fast as we can...has only happen I think twice in the last 44 years :)
There is an RV park in town called Creekside Park...make reservation a year ahead. There is also one outside of town about 5 miles...can't remember the name you'll have to google it. one of my students made a reservation over in Redmond at the Deschutes Co. Fair grounds and it was basic but functional! good luck...see you next year...otherwise we have boondocking all over the place :)
Anna, is there routine to your quilting? Do you finish a quilt then look for activities or classes? Do you stay home 1 or 2 months then hit the road? Love your channel. It seems very busy...do you feel stress in your quilting or frustration in not getting to a deadline?
I have a sign in The Bee Hive that says...Deadlines Amuse Me. lol...I have zero routine. sometimes I wish I had a different brain but for the most part i live my chaos and am grateful for my life....this is the one I get so I make the most of it!
Anna there was. Beautiful quilt right under Hucklebeary's sign white with bright colors. I would love to know the pattern. How would I go about finding that out?
Hello Anna, Thanks for sharing your take on the Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show! This was my first year at this quilt show and can't wait to return next year. My name is Todd DuBay, and my 'schtick' is creating time lapse videos of the art of quilt making: www.quiltinginthefastlane.com/ I saw a million and once time lapse opportunities while I was there this year, and would like to contact and talk with you about shooting some shots for next years quilt/lapse production. I have A LOT of questions!! You'll be hearing from me soon . . . .
