The audio in this video was recorded with in-ear binaural microphones. If you wear headphones, your mind won't be blown, but it will go, "woah, that's cool."
I'm also the producer for the Winding Road RU-vid Channel:

Here on TheTopher, I'm known for putting a camera on my face and driving cars. Whether it's about any of my personal cars or reviews on weekly press vehicles, the goal is to give you an idea of what a certain car is like to drive or live with. Most of my videos are filmed in POV, with my clothes on, and (for like the 5th time) with in-ear binaural audio. Which, if I haven't made it clear yet, is why you should wear headphones. Because of the whole "woah" factor. It's there, trust me. Try it, it's pretty nuts. Or don't. As long as you whitelist me on your adblocker I'm okay with whatever you do or don't do with regards to headphone usage. That is all. Oh and I guess you should also probably subscribe. Why are you still reading this, you should be watching the video. With headphones! Hah, had to sneak that in there one more time. Later!

ram trucks last longer
@Michael-rl5ki
@Michael-rl5ki 3 года назад
@@inspectorjavert5563 no. I’m a ram owner. Never again. They absolutely do not last longer than a bulletproof tundra. My exhaust manifolds cracked and studs broke off inside the head at 76k miles, I have had the “hemi” lifter tick since 50ish miles but now getting louder so it might be a lifter failing, which that’s a major problem also now even in newer rams. My nav screen failed when I did the Chrysler map update. Luckily covered under warr since it was their software glitch that wrecked it. Now have a rumble noise from time to time between 2nd and 3rd gear shift. Had I gotten the horrible air ride suspension option- that would have most likely failed already too. Massive issues with that. Thank god I only got the bighorn package w/o air ride. It’s a nice truck really, but unreliable and I would have already dumped it if it wasent for the 100k power train warr.

@@inspectorjavert5563 not true. My co workers are dealing with many of the same problems as me on their rams. From various years. One of them had his lifter fail at 112k and wipe out the cam also. Unacceptable. Do a quick search on hemi tick, and lifter failure. It’s very common and many ram owners got screwed. Many many cases. What year is yours? Longest lasting?? Haha what study was that from?
@Michael-rl5ki
@Michael-rl5ki 3 года назад
@@inspectorjavert5563 Fiat Chrysler isn’t offering short-block engine options for sale on the 5.7, because they know they are issue prone and people will end up swapping the old cam/lifter/ top ends to the new short block. Which will fail and then they would have to honor the warranty on it. Which they don’t want to do. It’s an admission to a faulty product which they don’t want to just come out, and be honest with. Going to make a lot of independent shops money on this garbage. But I’m not hating on just ram. Ford and Chevy all going through huge recalls and constant issues with Ecco-boost problems. Chevys 2016-18 8 speed auto issues are well known.

The Tundra is designed by both American, Japanese engineers and built in Texas. Since Japan is not experienced in the truck market, they hired an American as chief engineer and got input from him on what Americans like in their trucks. The 5.7 is the best because it has no Active Fuel Management or turbo crap. Just a regular non aspirated V8.

I've drifted the damn truck, had it maxed out wayyyy too much, took it through some mud that it should've sunk in, etc. They were not slipping much just right when it went into gear, but it wouldn't get into 6th gear on the highway unless I put it in S6. Rides like brand new. 2008 5.7 tundra tow package 155k miles. I did not at all need replacement but I thought it would be wise.@@TARider2

Thanks for the video. I've got a 2011 Crewmax SR5 TRD and I love it. Its my work/personal truck and I've put 190k miles on it. At least 70% of those miles were towing, whether its my work trailer with two 100 gallon chemical tanks on it or towing my jet skis frequently in summer. I take excellent care of my work trucks. I hate seeing trucks getting beat to hell simply because 'its a work truck'. I like when customers ask me if its a new truck when its 8 years old. My current Tundra is the 4.6L and thats the only regret I have. I'm now looking at a new truck, only to avoid any potential repairs/downtime that could pop up after 200k. It blows me away how long the truck has lasted with almost no repairs needed in its lifetime outside of normal maintenance. I'm looking at a double cab this time for more bed space. My current Crewmax has a toolbox leaving me very little bedroom. I have no kids, just my wife and I, we do like to just go and find some adventure by sleeping in our vehicles (who needs nasty hotels?). We slept in the back seat of our Crewmax a few nights on a trip. The new plan is to add a camper top to the new Tundra, with the 6.5 foot bed so we can sleep in the back and with some plywood in place of the tailgate at night, we can add an A/C for hot night camping with the jet skis. When Monday comes, I can just swap out the camping gear for some tubs full of my work stuff and we've got a transformer truck! I do wish Toyota had a few more technology options in the Tundra like Apple CarPlay, access to leather seats without going Limited (ventilated would be a dream for this Texan working in the heat). My wife often complains about my truck stinking, I can't blame her. I work in the heat, I mountain bike in the heat, I get in the truck wet from jet skiing (with a towel down), these cloth seats take a beating.

Good comprehensive review. I think the important thing for folks in the market to consider is that the Tundra sticker price is high but Toyota dealers are willing to deal on these trucks, because they are selling slow. So dont let sticker price fool you. Go to a dealer and beat them up. I was able to get 9 grand off sticker for my 2018 SR5 Crewmax TRD Offroad 4x4. It had been sitting on the lot for over 6 months this past summer along with a ton of other 2018s. Look at the build date inside the driver side door on the sticker. It will give you an indicator as to how long the dealer has had that specific vehicle sitting. The longer it has been there the more incentivized they will be to get rid of it.

Because apparently nobody realizes this: every brand still makes bone-basic work trucks where the only features of note might be power windows, power locks, and the federally-mandated reverse camera. You can still get trucks on the cheap and basic if you, for whatever reason, don't want the amenities to make your daily drive more enjoyable. You might have to special order it or have your dealer look high and low for hundreds of miles around, but they're there.

I have a 2015 TRD Pro Tundra Crew-Max. I like the simplicity. Heat, radio and go forward stick. The only update to 'new' I love is the GPS on dash.

I have owned 2 GM pickups and have had nothing but reliability issues and repair problems. My current Chevy 1500 4x4 is being traded in for this exact truck in magnetic grey metallic. I have the spray on bed liner a tri fold tonneau cover. I take delivery on Friday and am looking forward to trouble free truck ownership. Toyota for me from here out. Yea the Fords and the Chevys look nice but they simply are not built with the quality and strength Toyota builds into their Trucks.

This 2019 Toyota Tundra Is An Amazing Truck-Cab Is Really Great Interior They Have Really Tight Seatbelts Which Is Incredibly Tighter Than The Other Seatbelt It Would Be Great Buying This For 25'000000 Dollars I Would Probably Take This To Home Depot For Any Special Deliveries That People Need Thats A Really Offered Truck-Cab

There is no “sport” mode. It is “select” mode. It simply lets you select the highest gear it will engage.

I have the 2019 Tundra Crewmax. Feels way bigger than the Silverado I had, which it probably is. One thing I love about it, it may feel big to drive but it turns way better and tighter than what my Silverado did. So far I’m 800 miles in, so she’s obviously still great. One thing I considered when buying a new truck was reliability. Fingers crossed I don’t have to the same issues that my Silverado has before 40,000 miles. As for the interior, who cares! Keep it simple, it’s great. The only thing that matters is how long that motor and transmission will last. Back seats have a shit ton of room! It’s like a couch back there. So overall, I’m happy with Toyota. It does cost a pretty penny though and gas mileage isn’t that great at all but, I think she’s worth it. The only thing I noticed right off the bat with this truck is a metallic click noise once you place it in drive and take off. You can feel it a little in the gas pedal. But it only does it on the first initial take off after placing it in drive. So I don’t know what that’s about but I’ll get it checked.

I think a lot of car/truck reviewers when talking about rear seat comfort needs to set the driver and passenger seats at their fullest extensions so that we can get a better idea of what the actual leg room would be for a 5'10" guy looks like. Thanks.

As primarily a car driver i find it really weird how slow the body on frame chassis STEERING is, where this truck takes a whole 360 turn , cars especially with fast steering need maybe a quarter of that .
@ManuJohn380
@ManuJohn380 5 лет назад
That's deliberate. You don't want a fast steering ratio in a truch, as it will have tremendous effect on handling and stability when towing heavy loads.
