I drive a Pete. And I can tell you all the Pete owners are in denial that theirs is a better truck. I just love how thoughtful things are inside the Volvo.
I like how you turn the key over the first or second notch, waited for the gauges to stop dancing around, or for that ECM to configure. And then start it. A lot of truck drivers don't know you're supposed to do that.
Some of these new guys don't have a shred of common sense. Thats probly why. Although i admit i did that a few times, but that was during my first year driving and a few mornings it was in the negatives.
Don't know why people crap on the VOLVO. I think it's a very well designed truck and very well thought out designed with driver comfort well in mind. The automatic transmission looks to be another great addition to trucking. It appears to be a very safe transmission too. Definitely a truck I will consider when I return to trucking in 3 years.
I really like the Volvo trucks. I'm not the biggest fan of Automatics (mostly because I like using both of my feet and hands.) but people who say "How do you deal with a downgrade?" don't realise you can still (at least sequentially) shift the gears. Not to mention, visibility is a great thing. Imagine being able to actually see the four wheeler sitting in front of you instead of just having a massive block of cheese limiting your field of view.
I agree their design is good. I love the look and especially the interior comfort however, from a reliability, parts availability and mechanical standpoint? I would never buy them
Real Dude Uprising I have the VNL 860. I love it. So smooth to drive, quiet, has a refrigerator and the inverter, tv mount. I can convert the bed into a table. It sure is s home away from home.❤️
@@RealCoachRonn i work on them everyday and they are designed in a way where the most common stuff to fail is easy to replace, so i dont mind working on them. could be a lot worse,(maxxforce/n13)
Encantado de esta maravilla de camion, un verdadero lujo y por demas fantastico para el operador para viajes largo haciendolos mas comodos y con el confort que se requiere para estos viajes, automatico para que el operador sienta la comodida en el manejo y a la vez pueda ver lo que este poderoso camion puede hacer en el trabajo diario de carga pesada, Volvo excelente...que ganas de querer estar trabajamdo en una compañia de estas donde dispongan de esto magnificos camiones.
Enchanted of this truck wonder, a real luxury and for other fantastic for the operator for long trips making them more comfortable and with the comfort that is required for these trips, automatic so that the operator feels comfortable in the handling and at the same time can see what this powerful truck can do in the daily work of heavy load, excellent Volvo ... that you want to be working in a company of these where they have this magnificent trucks.

If I ever get my own truck, it's most likely going to be a Volvo. I love the feel of the truck plus you don't have to fear locking your keys in the truck.

They used to be a way to turn on the cruise at idle and bump up the RPM to prevent the truck's "idle shut down" from shutting down the truck. However you can't do that unless you have the PTO parameters set to allow it. It is an internal parameter it must be activated. Therefore it thinks a PTO is operating and it will not shut down the truck. However the smart fleets and owners have blocked it PTO parameter.
So this is what a Volvo looks like across the pond..doesn't bear any resemblance to a real Volvo - size of the bed is the best thing, I see a lot of parts from much older generation European FH Volvos there..
yeah beautiful most truckers love to hate on Volvos ,seems crazy to me, just got me a 08 pre def 465hp with a ultrashift 13, 390 gears and full lock quad axle 430 sleeper to convert to a dump truck and customizing it to look like the latest volvo concept truck-all custom led lighting, trying to figure out if i can switch out the interior door panels to 2018 style also
Do you know if the driver facing Cameras go off when your engine is off? Don't want a company to watch me sleeping or getting naked. Also, does it track sound as well while driving?
I didn't know the Thermo king takes up the entire side box :( I have so much stuff in my volvo both my side boxes are packed with stuff that I use quite frequently.
Mad? No. There's a lot more to the burning 6mpg than just the aero. You've got 200 more horsepower in a W900 or a 389 and 400 more ft lbs of torque than this Volvo. Also the interiors have updated believe it or not. I think the Volvos are a great comfortable truck, but you're comparing apples to oranges and there's a reason why people still buy Long noses and much of it doesn't have to do with looks
Volvo trucks ar some of the best trucks you can buy.Its interesting how do they have in US the parking brake and the trailer air supply looking so out of place whit those bright colours.In eu we have only one and its in the same color as the dash bord.
Rough ride. Loud cab. They don't even put sound deadening material under the hood like everyone else. 10 speed transmission is clunky and awkward. Several defects. In the first 10,00 miles, mine had broken fuel guage, broken windshield washers, and windshield cracked for no reason. Collision mitigation system malfunctions. MPG isn't as good. I have a day cab and the in-cab storage is horrible.
Doesn't matter if that's the newest and best truck on the road, if it has a driver facing camera I'm not driving for you, bye. You need drivers. the drivers dont need you.
@@michaelgrossman5528 The sad thing is can you blame them though with some of the people who are out on the road now days? I help run a 20 truck outfit out of Utah and we are very picky for that exact reason
Yeah because they are so privileged to have such an amazing person as yourself. All they are doing is giving you $160k investment, then putting multi million dollar contracts in your hands, no reason to possibly keep tabs on all that.

This is just like a Volvo FM but with a bonnet and a large rear area for the bed and living quarters. Dash is the same as the FM, door handles inside & outside are the same. Interesting it doesn't use an electric E-brake/Hand Brake as in Europe. Much bigger interior than the Volvo FH that I drive here in England. How come these don't come with the Volvo D16 engine ??

Estados Unidos é outra história. Lá não tem essa de acabar com os bicudos como no Brasil e na Europa a base de leis bem duvidosas. O caminhão bicudo é infinitamente mais confortável para o motorista. Mas manter a fabricação de frontal e bicudo não era interessante para a fabrica no Brasil.
Not true..i drive a 2015 780...besides your regular maintenance I've never been in the shop for any repairs...that's an old wives tale about Volvo maintenance...probably started by Pete, Freight shaker, & Kw owners... Volvo is BY FAR the best truck I've driven...
I drove for Ramsey Logistics in Attica from 2007-2010. Is Ed still working in the shop at Dutch Maid? He worked at Ramsey for a while when I was there. Nice truck.
