The OG's from '89 cannot be beat. The '99s are #2. They kept the all around shape with that sleek toe box and they ARE mid-high cut. The 2019's are #3. They have Nike Air on the heel and they have the netting correct. BUT, they are just shaped different. They are basically a low top. For me, I really like the mid high style of the '89s and '99s. The toe box is, for lack of a better word, boxy. It looks like a work boot toe box. Kind of like a steel toe work boot. I was disappointed when I first saw the 2019's. PLEASE DON'T get me wrong. Other than what I mentioned they are a must get. I still LOVE them. I was just hoping that these would be more like the '89s and '99s. Compared to the '08 and 2012's, these are light years better.

The Nike Air tab misalignment issue is noticeable but doesn't bother me nearly as much as the even more noticeable height disparity that you showed at 3:51. I hate that the mold on the 4's has been so morphed ever since they brought out the first retro's in 1999.

Yes, you and everybody else is making too huge a deal out of the centering of the Nike Air. The new heel tab is more narrow. If you center the Nike in the more-narrow heel-tab, you would have to shorten the end of the swoosh.

As far as the paint cracking and chipping on most of the Jordan retros, WTF are they doing with 'em? Man when I got my 4's in 1989 there was no paint cracking and chipping back then. Nike was making top notch quality sneakers back in the day. It's like the mid soles were not painted almost as if they were the same color all the way through. Like the black and white on the mid soles were black and white. Like if you cut open where it was black, it would be black inside the cut you made. IDK if thats the case or not but I do know that none of my genuine OG pairs ever cracked. They were just damn good quality through and through.
I got the 2012 bred 4s. I’m going try to get these but I do own a pair of 2007 aqua 8s they are better than the 2015. Older retros are better than new ones
The Nike word on the old version is bulky, the new is refined. To me the newer version looks a whole lot better despite the air not centered. To me it looks better.
The off center Nike Air eats at me the more I look at it but that ain't stopping the cop. I'll double up if I can because 4's are my steez and this colorway is super dope. Dope video man, had me laughing a few times. Subbed.
Mine came with no hang tag, definitely will start checking my pairs before I leave the store. Called when I got home and Ftl says they only received 2 pairs in my size so all were sold out
Aye Dj Delz, The Nike air backtab is prolly one mistake before the release that they will improve on i dont think they would release these like that on the official release date like the mistake on the infrared 6s back in 2014 with the jumpman missing only on one pair

Absolutely right the Nike is off to the side and the cut of the nubuck is way thinner like paper and I tell you if someone hired me to do a sole swap and the paint job was as bad as this newer version people would be pissed 😤

Yeah man, the shape is just off. The cut around the ankle is off. The shape of the toe box is off. The 89s and 99s are sleek. I would think it wouldn't be that difficult to make 'em in the same shape.
Bruh I haven’t bought Jordan’s since the space jam 11s I can’t believe they haven’t improved the quality. It kinda digs me that the the og were cheaper back then and had better material compare to the retro which cost 190-220 with trash quality.
New ones are nice. Nike Air signs are fine. Try almost $300 in Canada though. This colorways isn't my favorite but still classic. White Cements are the Best in the 4's.

Very good facts of detailing the sneaker. I had 1999 that i bought back in 2004 that was floated ebay. Now in days people hype it for a few....white cement blew up more.....but $200aint shit . you be lucky if u get it for $200 the hype makes it go for more $300 think about it....$200 i could spend it 1 night.
FatalCorleone07 make sure you treat the restored pair with angelus mink oil and let it set in for a few weeks before wearing but that may not help either because the nubuck is so old now. I’ve restored 5 of these and they always start chipping after a few wears so I don’t even bother doing them anymore. I don’t wanna be a party pooper I’m just being honest with you from experience. And the 99s are way more comfortable than these retros
@@gtcreels532 trust me bro, way ahead of you..I'm not a noob to the game lol..I've went through a whole 2 cans of angelus mink oil (a can on the way) and letting them sit..haven't even slipped my feet inside them yet..just stringed them up lol..and I will not wear them without sneaker shields inside to stop the creasing while walking. I have the hard black shields called "The Protector" from them. Hope that helps!

The letters A I R on the back are much bigger than the 99's. Maybe if they would have made AIR smaller they could've centered it better. OR just make it exactly the SAME!!! DAMN Nike! WTF?
They missed the mark on the 2019 pair IMO. The ankle cut ever since the CDP pair in 2008 looks atrocious! Get it right Nike!! You're charging $200 a pair and you skimp out on the precise details. This 2019 ankle cut looks awful. The Nike Air is off center. There is no light grey outline on the constructed pieces of durabuck. Just a damn shame!
Didn't watch the video just wanted to say man how i miss the old shit. You line these two shoes up together and the 2019 looks fake cause the quality is so shit. 99 is so plush the shape is amazing there is no comparison. Its sad how far the quality has fallen.
This is my fav 4 but after I seen people’s pairs with scuffs and glue marks it kind of killed it for me we paying $200.00 for trash this is the reason why I don’t buy jays like that anymore quality is always shitty! It’s not worth the money in my opinion.

the 2019 has many defects, the main one being the off centered NIKE and the AIR is to spread out....the R should be wear the K on the NIKE begins...on the 2019 the R is way passed the E on NIKE....jordan on the tongue looks fucked up as as well.....nothing like 1989's or 99's....even the 2016 WC4's aren't this fucked up....great review though....just get the midsole swapped on your 99's....and hoop in the 2019's....that's all they are good for....
LiLkAy600 Dude I am with ya. When I saw the first pics of the 2019's I was way let down. I was in the 9th grade in '89 and had the OG's when they dropped. Why can't they just make the shoe like it was back in the day? The 99's were very nice and they were very very close to the 89's. Since then, IDK WTF The 4's have been my favorite since I got them in 89 and I can honestly say that I am truly disappointed.
