2020 Audi Q3 - Review & Road Test 

I'm a car fanatic, and honestly, after looking at a lot of luxury cars, I have to say that the Audi Q3 is the right car for me. I want luxury, but I don't want to spend a lot of money. The main thing for me was size and affordability. What wasn't mentioned was that this car takes regular unleaded gas, which saves in the long run. I absolutely love the ease of the infotainment system, because there's no "touchpad" or a mouse-type thing to navigate like in the Lexus NX, Acura RDX, and BMW X3. Speaking of which, I find it hard to believe that the Q3 compares to the Lexus UX, BMW X1, and Mercedes GLA. The Q3 seems to be bigger than all 3, and it resembles more of an SUV. I've looked at Lexus, and they're nice, but the UX looks like a hatchback, and it's ugly. The NX I feel is comparable to the Q3 in regards to size, but a sunroof isn't even standard, and the infotainment system isn't touchscreen. The BMW X1 is nice, but when I test drove it, it felt like a hatchback or a small car, and the infotainment system doesn't seem to have that luxury value I was looking for. It's also low to the ground. The GLA is just not an attractive car, and it looks like a hatchback. Mercedes doesn't have the same technology in each car, and the older technology they have in late models as late as 2019 resemble 2011 technology. The Q3 is just the right size, the right price, and has all of the features I'm looking for..... except ventilated seats lol

I think they put the volume knob there for the passenger. I rarely use it in my car. I control the volume on the steering wheel.

This new Q3 is a beauty!

Had a Q3 loaner with the sline, I was thoroughly impressed. I'd def choose it over Q5 and a lot of other cars. Q3 is essentially a car which is why I loved it (I'm not much of a suv guy, mostly cus they're heavy and clumsy).

Micah nails it once again! I actually was provided one by Enterprise in that CalTrans Orange color and it’s actually fun to drive. Micah’s description of the 8 speed is spot on. You actually have to train your foot position to make smooth shifts. But that delay in throttle response is evident in both VeeDubs and Audis. I have it for the next three months while waiting for a fuel pump for my Lexus GX. Ay ye ye!!! 🤨

At that price it iso competes withy 2019 MAZDA CX 5 GT Reserve (2.5 L. turbo, AWD) Mins is the signature MAZDA color Soul Red Crystal. BTW, my CX 5 has cooled front seats and all seats, steering wheel, mirrors and wipers are heated. I'll compare my CX 5 in styling, luxury features, speed, handling and steering feel - and WIN, especially when you factor in reliability. Oh yeah, and my CX 5 has virtually no turbo lag, thanks to MAZDA's exhaust manifold engineering.

I'm gonna be that annoying guy and point out that our US spec, non-S line models actually don't look as bad as the one you showed in this video. The base model is actually quite nice here.

Audi should have given us the DSG, but they have taken it away from several models due to Americans not liking the feel. I think the DSG is excellent and would give better acceleration and probably MPG.

The lack of ventilated seats would be a deal-breaker for me. Otherwise, I very nice SUV.

How does the Audi Q3 compare to an Acura RDX and Mercedes Benz GLA? Price wise they seem similar

Audi, like practically every other car maker, wrongly assumes because I want to buy a smaller SUV, I can’t afford luxury and a refined fit/finish. (I find smaller vehicles much easier/fun to drive and finding a parking space much easier.) So, as I move down the automaker’s food chain, I get cheaper materials and woefully insufficient convenience features. Only an Infiniti QX50 Autograph seems to understand what I want in a small SUV but the reviews and reliability ratings are appalling. The Audi SQ5 is a bit bigger than I wanted but that tacky/outdated dashboard is a real deal breaker. And, you’re right, that Turbo Blue exterior is mighty fine.

You overlooked that the new Q3 has wireless Apple Car Play. Which I think is a pretty big deal. Might be the first production car to offer it. Not 100% sure if that also includes wireless android.

This looks like a great replacement for my Tiguan, but it's still way out of my price range. I love that Turbo Blue color!

I rented one of these this past week. Drive it for 3 days and drive it a lot. I couldn’t wait to get out of the car every times I was in it. Infotainment was easy to operate, and it was pretty light on the road. Cons - everything else. I couldn’t believe how low quality the car felt for being an Audi. I feel like I’ve been in Honda Civics that have felt higher quality, roomier, and more powerful. The one I got didn’t even have push to start. On top of that, I’m 6’2. I probably should have asked for a different car, but I was tired and I wanted to get on the road. It was sooo cramped in there. I had passengers every now and again throughout my visit to the area and the hated it even more than me lol

My concern is reliability during and after the warranty runs out.

The screen is too low so your eyes will constantly have to look down at the infotainment system, which sucks. The car itself Is underwhelming and definitely unpowered. They can keep that. Great video tho. Lots of information without being dragged out.

That blue color is honestly terrible. I saw a Ford Ranger pickup in a similar shade of blue.

Have driven it. Nothing exciting, felt like a CX5 😳. Even topped out with all the bells and whistles, no driver memory seat...what!?

I’m tired of all the incredibly massive center consoles. Granted I could stand to lose some weight but Micah is a smaller guy yet his knees still seem to take up 99% of the available space in the driver’s area.

No cooled or ventilated seats. Huge fail for anyone living in the Eastern US, especially the Southeast. Off I got to find a car/suv for me. The Q3 is NOT it.

The Q2 is the cheapest and smallest Audi crossover SUV, not the Q3......

The interior looks like a downgrade in terms of function. Looks like a VW interior and the vents at the top instead of the screen is bad because I want the screen as close to my line of sight as possible.

The Q3 is a complete dog. The Q3 isnt even competition for the Mazda CX5 let alone the BMW X1/X3. Rented one for a week and returned it after only two days. The transmission and turbo lag are abysmal. The transmission in particular felt like it came straight out of a mid 90s Chevy Cavalier.
