In the spirit of taking SUV's and making them sportier, Audi has a winner on their hands with the Q8. Taking the successful 3 row Q7 and not just removing a row of seats but giving it some style pizazz, this Q8 will be popular for those not needing the third row and those who put emphasize on style.

Audi interior designs are great these days, very elegant but not over the top in any way, very classy.

As a previous Q8 owner, who just recently switched to the SQ8, I can confirm the lag on the Q8 is terrible. There was an issue with the auto stop/start function where if you came to a rolling stop, then tried to pull out on a right or left turn, there would be a good 2-4 seconds AFTER you applied the throttle with your foot that power would be transferred to the wheels. It left me out on cross streets with out any power while cars just kept coming on either side. Audi kept saying it was a "driving characteristic" of the car, but at my 10K mileage service, they said, "OH, have you noticed some lag when you come to a rolling stop? We have a patch for that when we do your service. You'll notice a difference." They finally admitted there was a problem. They did the patch, and I did notice a difference, but the lag is still quite bad on the car and the transmission on the 6-cylinder 55 TFSI is just strange. I didn't notice this issue during the test drive. And strangely, it was intermittent, and could not always be replicated. Certain conditions had to exist, and at times it was quite scary. I lost money switching to the SQ8, but wow, the difference is amazing, not to mention the more powerful engine. So if you can pull for the SQ8, it's a MUCH better option in my honest opinion.

I test drove a 2020 Q8 both in town and on the highway and couldn't agree more with this review. For the record, there's lag/hesitation no matter which drive mode you're in. I'm VERY surprised most reviews avoid mentioning this very BIG issue that accompanies a very large price tag. I also personally experienced some road noise on the freeway. Once you're up to speed, the ride is so smooth you will find yourself going way over the speed limit in no time. The lag/hesitation from the stopped position was a deal breaker for me. Also, do cars really need so much technology that you can't do anything safely on their computerized screens while driving? You need a copilot nowadays.

@@bonnieniles-bush7801 The SQ8 that I traded for doesn't have much lag at all in sport mode. Of course, this is the twin turbo V8 engine that I've got now, which is is a much better powertrain/drivetrain set up, in my opinion. I do like all of the tech in the SQ8. It takes a bit to get used to, but most of what you need can be controlled with the steering wheel buttons. You can also use voice commands to operate the climate control.

I used to drive a A8L for work and it was like a rocket. Even though it didn't have the lag issue You mentioned I always disabled that feature on the car. I think it's really a safety issue to have it installed

So wanted to share my thoughts on the Q8. I have owned sports cars, and SUVs of many brands: Land Rover, Porsche, BMW, Aston Martin, Jaguar, Ferrari and a few others. I just picked a 2020 Q8 Prestige last Friday. My feedback is simple: the car is perfection. The attention to details is incredible. The driving, just perfect, subtle, but quick to the beat, smooth throughout the entire range. instrumentation, virtual cockpit, heads up display, dash electronics, seating, materials, all simply perfect. There is absolutely nothing I would take away from this car. It just rides perfect. It is now my favorite ride of all. If you are thinking about the Q8, don't think twice. You will not e disappointed in any way. Oh and by the way the exterior styling beats all in its class without the exception of the RS Q8 of course.....which will be something else....

I bought a Q8 from the showroom floor. Really beautiful car which is very well equipped and a terrific drive, BUT, the lag on the 3 litre turbo is woeful, the autonomous emergency brake aggressive and can’t be adjusted and over 18 months, it spent 9 weeks in the shop. OK so was mine a lemon and a-typical of the model? Possibly, but in the end, I lost patience with the car and the dealer and got rid.

4 passenger cars/suv that are huge makes no sense. Audi rs7, bmw 850, don’t even have a middle seat. Why? trying to segment on much. It’s a waste of resources. If it can fit 5 seats, put 5 in.

I must be too practical for these "SUV"s that seen to be overpriced lifted cars.. The sloped rear end makes them less versitile than a normal SUV with a squared off back. It's not able to fit a large item in the back as easy as the normal Q7, and a roof rack can't go on top as easy with the sloped roof. I know I must not be cool becuase all I see is a lot of comprised function to get a vehicle that still looks like somebody jacked a wagon up 4 inches. And most wagons will handle better and have better fuel milage. I'll take an RS6 or even an RS4 over one of these any day.

@@EverydayReviews2022 He had the last gen X6M which was a total POS, that thing was in the shop for months at a time and it was so ugly, but the main point for going back to the X5M was better for space inside. My new neighbor, she's got the new X6 in that Ametrin Metallic (purplish black?) with the black M Sport wheels and tinted windows and that actually looks almost good, almost. LOL

Pass!!!!! What a horrible value. $90,000 for an Audi that will sink its value to 1/4 0f its original price in 3 years is clearly stupid beyond repair. Just wait 3 years and you can get this Audi for $30,000+/_. Patience is wisdom. Audi, BMW, and Mercedes and all other German brands have horrible resale value and horrendous depreciation.
@EverydayReviews2022
@EverydayReviews2022 4 года назад
I don’t think you can use the word value in conjunction with premium luxury. They’re all in the same boat. I’d lease or if I could afford it, I’d use a luxury subscription.
@argentumboyle249
@argentumboyle249 4 года назад
@@EverydayReviews2022 Wrong. Disagree. Audi is not a luxury brand. It's a premium brand just like Acura, Infiniti, Lincoln, Cadillac, Volvo etc. BMW, Lexus, and Mercedes are the only true luxury brands. Ultra Luxury brands are Rolls Royce, Maybach , Bently , and Century. $90,000 (US or Canada) is a horrible price for an Audi. Overpriced with horrible resale value along with horrendous reliability problems is a terrible product for anyone to pay $90,000 for. It will have a difficult time making the case to buyers why they should write that $90,000 check for Audi. As of today, (and has always been since the 80s), Audi products don't sell well at all. It always falls behind in sales volume when compared to other brands. This Audi Q8 is not going to sell well just like all of its Audi siblings. Audi has a very small and unstable buyers base when compared to that of Lexus, BMW, Mercedes, Acura, Infiniti. Lexus has the largest loyal buyer base, and Lexus buyers buy their Lexus instead of leasing it . In the other hand, most people only LEASE BMW, Mercedes, or Audi. This is why they have the highest price depreciation and horrendous resale value (even according to Zack from Motormouth Canada). Most wealthy buyers DO mind about what they get for their money when buying a car. This Audi Q8 fails to make a decent case to buyers about why they should write Audi a $90,000 check instead of to BMW, Mercedes, or Lexus. Auto reviewers like you and Zack and many others only care about design, driving dynamic, and speed. These characters are not a major priority to luxury brand buyers. We care mostly about reliability, value, resale value, low maintenance cost, functionality, user-friendly, comfort, quietness, prestige, etc. Audi, BMW, and Mercedes have none of these qualities. This is why people only LEASE them compared to Lexus which most people actually BUY it for the long run.

@@argentumboyle249 You miserable braindead Lexus fans. Lexus has nothing to do with luxury. First of all, the lower price of Lexus illustrates this fact. No matter where in the world Audi is a luxury brand, it is on the same level as Mercedes. The reliability of Lexus is OK because the chassis and engine technology of Lexus are primitive and old. Even the mid-level models are simple cheap Toyota models with a different brand. Audi's mid-to-high-end models are on a completely different platform from Volkswagen. In fact, the technology shared by the Audi brand is closer to Porsche.
