This is a very inaccurate review. This car is quite fun to drive, quick, sounds good, is comfortable and economical. It's a sport ride for sure, but nothing nearly as bad as he makes it seem. The brakes are amazing on this car, and the handling isnt nearly as bad as he makes it seem.
right right. he was in a bad mood just approaching the car. he jumped in the car with a negative attitude. His review seems like a job that he did not want to do.
He's not serious when I heard him say the Aisin on the F39 M35i is "No Good". Clown comment. I had a 340i and they are exactly the same. Jerks so hard lol Zf was not that significant of a difference.
i love your videos in general but there is some critism coming your way now , i hope you would understand im not writing this as disrespect im just writing these as to help you 1. I love the new intro with Max in the beginning , if you combine it with the highlights of the video its gonna be bomb ! 2. I hate the camera angles and how you guys split the video into 2 , maybe more space for the road and also the placement of the dials were horrible , maybe put them on the front seat next time , not top left corner , top view is already tight and you made it tighter which was a bad choice IMHO . Keep up the good work guys !
I mean it's kinda cool, but we can see that you struggle with understeer ( like in golf r) and if it's a lifestyle vehicle then it should have been softer.
Why can't all these "experienced", "clued up" car journalists understand why BMW had to replace the ZF box with the Aisin box. Easy, the flipping engine is the wrong way around, if they put the ZF box in it would stick out of the side of the car for heaven's sake 😂 the ZF is for longitudinal mounted engines, this and the new M135i have transverse mounted engines. Motoring journalists mechanical knowledge isn't really up there is it 😆 they can present a video but they can't get their heads around this simple matter of "it won't fit"!
Hola! Agradezco infinitamente que tus comentarios respecto a los vehículos que muestras siempre son transparentes y duros, tu sinceridad hace que sea más real tu opinión. Muy pocos como tú, porfavor continúa así. Buen trabajo! Saludos desde México!
Power and good handling aren't mutually exclusive. The MX-5 is all about fun and it's underpowered. You can drive an M-sport 320i way too fast on a country road, you don't need a 340 for that. You'll appreciate a sportier setup then. But given the some 4k price of the M-sport package, personally I'd get a more powerful engine tbh.
Its like that lap dancing club vip area...yea promise the girls are even better with loads to offer and have the solution to all your problems, full package. Then you leave a mess, skint with the solution to your problems in your own hand
You're confusing terminology here. There are M cars, M Performance cars and M Sport cars. M cars are M2, M3, etc. M Performance cars are M240i, M240i, etc. M Sport are just regular BMWs with a visual package. He's comparing this X2 M35i to other M Performance cars, because it is one. Notice the M before the 35i.
Why this guy hates so much? Come on, it's a 2-liter turbo tuned by M performance, crossover, with Haldex (front axle bias). Audi and VW have been producing such cars since years but he didn't hate any of them. The car is very nice with much trunk space and very fun to drive. The only negative thing is its weight and the transmission which can handle up to 480nm and limits any performance tuning.
I think BMW wants to make some big margins on first time SUV buyers who will put a lot of money to have some sporty badging but do not necessarily want the sporty car. Like everything SUV, it will sell like crazy even though it's not at the usual BMW quality level.
So you were saying that despite the lower bhp the normal X2 as a daily would be just fine? Definitely this M35i model's suspension is over-stiff to really allow the car to dig-into the corners that coupled with the 20inch runflat rare-sized tyres make that okay amount of power become wasted - sure it'll feel "sporty" to the lay-person/general consumer but sadly it isn't. Shame as it looks good, exhaust sounds okay and overall has decent potential. Maybe after 2 or 3 years the suspension will mellow (as BMWs seem to do excessively) and it wouldn't feel as hard a ride, but those tyres...
Aisin make very reliable gearboxes some might say bullet proof this could be the reason BMW are using them, I really enjoy your videos but would never find myself going flat out down the motorway so maybe this car is for me??
All very true what you say about the “lifestyle” cars that many manufacturers are offering. Most people buy them because they look the part of the cool cars but the majority of people never even get them anywhere close to the limits of their capabilities. In Germany on the autobahn you can come close to seeing their high speed limits but to understand the handling limits you need to track the cars which most people will never do. It is unfortunate that the older M cars had such a mystique about them and now every second BMW has some sort of M badge plastered all over the outside and inside of it, definitely watering down the marque. Put any kind of M, AMG or S badge on the vehicle and charge a stiff premium. People with money will flock to them.
Basically sounds like BMW got the suspension settings and gearbox completely wrong on this particular model. Probably the ZF automatic doesn't fit with the front drive, transverse engine setup - cannot think of any reason why BMW would not have gone with the ZF otherwise.
unfortunately cars for petrol heads are already pretty rare. and i think that his one here can be fun, because it's just fast. you can push it all-day long and it's fast. golf r fast if you know what I mean. no emotion, just fast.
And it should stay on your list as it will mine. I think what the reviewer is missing is that the "pure" driving dynamics cars from BMW, AUDI, Mercedes, etc. are out of reach for most people price wise, and most people who try to drive "those" cars at or near their limits will undoubtable crash them. This car is plenty fast and would be fun on public roads and highways as a fun daily driver and "yes" you get a cool looking "premium mark" vehicle. What is the crime in that?
I'm done with BMW. Been a loyal owner since the 90's but when they got away from the hydraulic racks and the fucking fake engine noises, I'm just done. It's not longer the ultimate driving machine.
Obviously, they don't care anymore!! They just want to sell their shit cans!! No matter how, no matter how many They have an idea to compensate this subject bu cutting the cost of production..just like chinese cars!! The new generation BMWs are not like the older ones in anyways!! The build quality has declined terribly!!!
