Hello guys,
This video is a study guide for you to practice on your CDL Doubles and Triples endorsement. This Study Guide contains 50 questions that are very similar to the official CDL test. This is part 1 of the 2020 CDL Double Triple study guide. For part 2 go to our channel and review it so you can pass the test the first time. Also I want to remind you all that the questions and answers on this tutorial were updated by the manual of drivers from different states 2020. I hope this is helpful. On the converter dolly question with the ABS she’s wrong it’s not white this is out of the DMV handbook ...a converter dolly built on or after March 1, 1998 are required to have an anti-lock brake these dollies have a yellow lamp on the left side of the dolly

It sounds odd, but it is correct because you want to have the tire tread contact the road & the water simultaneously. This allows traction to the steering tires & it will prevent hydroplaning. This is why it is important that your tires have the proper tread depth. The deeper the tread on the tires, the more water that can be moved along the tread & expelled through the rear of the tread as the tires move forward.

A yellow lamp on the left side not a white lamp. I stopped the video to check myself because up to that point I was in agreement with the questions although I didn't have enough time to read some of the longer answers thoroughly. I was planning to review the video. Now I don't wanna waste my time. I think the narrator just reading a book and not very well. Earlier she said pci instead of psi which I let slide because I knew what she meant but the color of the lamp is a key component to this question and unacceptable for a training video to make these kinds of errors. Drain valves should be CLOSED***... ABS light should be YELLOW***

If the air tank drain valves were open then the compressed air would leak out. Even if your signal line & Emergency line are connected on the lead trailer & the tail trailer you would still not have the proper pressure leading through the tail trailer which would cause the you to lose air faster hitting the breaks then the air compressor could charge throughout the drive. Non the less you would get the "Transmission Air Low". This can also occur if you cross your signal & emergency lines. You also want to make sure once you have picked up the converter dolly & connected it to the pintle hook that it is latched before proceeding to drive with a trailer attached.

Then again additional things to check during a walk around inspection like an additional air brake check the valves of the trailer and dollies has to be in open position in order to have air all the way back for all brakes to work!!

I passed my permit and am going for 2 endorsements tomorrow. These really helped with showing what MAY be on test and as a resource to use WITH the manual. The comment section is helpful on those little mess ups too. But yes, you need to study the manual too, that should be a no brainer you guys.

Question: If you must drive through deep puddles or flowing water, which of these should you not do? Answer: Drive though quickly Explanation: Slow down and place transmission in a low gear. Gently put on the brakes. This presses linings against brake drums or discs and keeps mud, silt, sand, and water from getting in. If you would drive slowly then your brakes would be soaked & a lining of water would be covered on the actual brakes pad. Delayed reaction of resistance to primary contact of the brakes. It sounds odd, but it is correct because you want to have the tire tread contact the road & the water simultaneously. This allows traction to the steering tires & it will prevent hydroplaning. This is why it is important that your tires have the proper tread depth. The deeper the tread on the tires, the more water that can be moved along the tread & expelled through the rear of the tread as the tires move forward. If you MUST drive through a puddle & you cannot avoid it then you drive through it quickly. Always take your time with reading the questions when taking your exam because sometimes they are worded differently & all the answer provided from the multiple choice do make sense, but you must choose the best answer.

On the FedEx dollies do you have a white light on the left hand side where the pull pin is.it also has a yellow warning light there as well.another safety feature is the light underneath the Jaws so you can see the jaws have applied properly around the PIN. It's a safety feature as well but many components of a dolly must be looked over like the bolt's around the fifth wheel.many drivers in the past fail to check the lock pin on the trailer and place the chain with pins up facing you making an X.these safety chain's often gets bent sideways. Some chains are shorter than others which doesn't make any sense to where you cannot make an X with your safety chains. You can get a ticket if the yellow light is on .it's a warning something is not correct.a driver was shut down because of the yellow light until service shows up.i just get another dollie and red tag it.

Where are they getting their answers from? The converter Dolly light should be yellow and when you do your walk-around inspection of the converter Dolly the valve be close and the pencil hook should be latched it should not be open and latched. This video is a goog way to fail a CDL TEST!!!

I agree there were 2 questions wrong. The light on dolly is yellow on left side not white? And another one was wrong . What should you not do when driving thru water? Do not drive thru quickly. Your answer was stepping on the break you shouldn't be doing this you will fail people taking test. I didn't watch the rest.

Make sure that you check your handbook to see if it states above 40 MPH or below 40 MPH. Question: If you have a 100 foot rig travel at 40 MPH or FASTER you have to ADD 1 extra second to the rule for a safer following distance. Example: You are driving a 100 FT rig at 50 MPH, how many seconds should your cushion be from the vehicle in front of you? Answer: 11 Seconds. Explanation: For every 10 Feet of the rig that equals to 1 second. In a 100 FT rig you have 10 Feet X 10 which equals 100 Feet. So you take 1 second 10 (the amount of 10 feet there are) = 10 seconds. Now since the rig is traveling faster than 40 MPH you would add 1 extra second to the 10 seconds which would be 11 seconds. Now if you were driving a 100 Foot rig at 30 MPH you would only need to have a following distance of 10 seconds because you are below the 40 MPH rule. Since you are traveling below 40 MPH there is no need to add 1 extra second.

Heads up ppl....2 of there questions are wrong. 1 test question they have 2 answers and 1 answer to another question was wrong. Always double check with the handbook

If the air tank drain valves were open then the compressed air would leak out. Even if your signal line & Emergency line are connected on the lead trailer & the tail trailer you would still not have the proper pressure leading through the tail trailer which would cause the you to lose air faster hitting the breaks then the air compressor could charge throughout the drive. Non the less you would get the "Transmission Air Low" on your dash. This can also occur if you cross your signal & emergency lines. You also want to make sure once you have picked up the converter dolly & connected it to the pintle hook that it is latched before proceeding to drive with a trailer attached. Also any dolly that is manufactured after March 1998 has a YELLOW ABS light on the left hand side.

Some of your answers on this video are very wrong! It’s not a white lamp it’s a yellow lamp. It’s psi not pci. And you do NoT drive through water quickly
