Thanks for doing this. How it performs, how it feels, how it works, instead of the usual "review" where they do little more than read you the list of options and features and parrot the brochure. This is fun and informative. Good job!

*Great demonstrations of this vehicle! I'd like to see you cover the technical aspects of the charging aspects. Thank you for thus content. Best demonstration of the bolt that I've seen so far! 👍🏻👍🏻*

Great review! Sums up how I feel about my ‘21 Bolt Premier. I absolutely love the car. I rarely use the brake pedal and use one pedal driving all the time. It’s wonderful around the city, but highway driving, you notice the small seats and some tire noise, my only complaints. It’s so fun to drive!

From what I've read, 94 MPH is the physical/mechanical limitation of the electric motor on the Chevrolet Bolt, 92MPH is a software limitation. The Bolt's electric motor is apparently very efficient and reliable, but not capable of exceeding more than roughly 9000RPM. In comparison, the Tesla Model 3 with a top speed of 155MPH can spin up to 18000RPM's - literally twice as fast. While I do wish the Bolt could go a bit faster - It's probably good that it can't, because then I can't get myself into to much trouble. How often are you going to exceed 85MPH anyways?

It sure is an exciting time to try all different types of cars. The technology has caught up to the point of much safer driving. And we need it with distracted drivers. EV’s must be a real blast NO pun intended. LOL Thanks for the video as always!

I fell in love with the Volt and the quality that went into making it such a great car. Now we have the Bolt which is just as good if not better. GM nailed their first 2 rounds of EVs now let's see how they handle electrifying the remaining lineup of their cars over the next 3-5 years

Great review. I hope you can test the Bolt SUV, I'm interested in it because of the extra legroom and hopefully a little easier ingress/egress.

This car shows that when GM puts some effort into their vehicles, the result is quite good. Thinking of the Volt, Vette. Suburban and now this.

friendly suggestion you should start to include suspension. Like how much wobble or bumps you feel going over a speed bump or traintracks etc. Otherwise loving the reviews.

Working for a Chevy dealer, these are nice cars, but the interior quality and the lack of some expected features are really disappointing. Although I've heard that they've improved all of that with the redesigned model for 2022. Can't wait for those models to come in.

GM always seems to cheapen out when it comes to interiors, don't they realize that you spend 99% of the time INSIDE the car? Not looking at it from the outside? I recall Lutz once said that if they would just put $100 in nicer materials inside, it would make a world of difference.

@@pedrofernandez8729 I think it wasn't as much of a priority for them as to make the Bolt under $40k, which they did. The more they spend in development on a vehicle, the more it will cost the consumer who buys it. But most manufacturers already have a budget in mind when they set out to develop a new vehicle, and they try not to go over that budget unless they have to.

2017-2021 bolt doesn’t have active cruise control only 2022 2nd gen has it. But great review nonetheless.

My biggest complain on my chevy bolt is the suspension setting witch i find so harsh .when you hit a pothole you feel it true your spine ... And the seats are, let's say not very good on long trip.But it's such a bang for the bucks this car.

That was very quick, I'm afraid you've been spoiled by your recent time with the Tesla.

The warning for going too fast is to protect the elrctric motor, not to shake its finger at you. There are plenty of places where 95 is the only place to pass traffic

I can't see myself rent a car like this if it's a full electric because I don't like going to charging stations every 200 miles. I'm doing a 6 day road trip throughout Southern California and Las Vegas from the Bay Area in 3 weeks and I don't subcompacts for many reasons. I do have a Toyota Avalon Hybrid car rental reserved and the neat thing 40 mpg on a large gas tank where you can just drive to your location without going to the gas station often.

If I lived somewhere that would allow me to charge the car, I would get one of these. Not practical for folks that live in apartment buildings

Just so you know 92-93 MPH is the top speed of this vehicle. I'm sure it could go further but that's what GM limited it to.
@kens97sto171
@kens97sto171 3 года назад
It's a mechanical limitation. Basically has to do with the final drive gearing that they chose. GM I think correctly figured this car is going to spend a lot of its time running around city and suburbia. So they geared it to have pretty damn good acceleration 0 to 60. Not as fantastic from 60 up. You've only got 200 horsepower and about 266 lb foot of torque in a relatively heavy car.. I believe the reason it's limited to 93 mph is because the electric motor is reaching its maximum rpm at that point which I believe is 10 or 12,000 RPM. Honestly the 92 miles an hour isn't going to be that big of a deal. Although in Texas we run 90 pretty often so you'd be pretty close to its limit. But for most people it's not going to matter that much.
